I think a lot of people can understand this cognitively, but their bodies keep them stuck in this response.

I've been stuck for years at this point, and I'm struggling to get seriously better. I've been trying all of it. But it's like I only get better for some time and then I get worse again. These videos of yours are helping me more than I thought and I'll be watching them all and hoping for better times!

I've been stuck for 16 months. Quit my job. Can't decide what I want to do with my life. Thinking about moving but can't make any definite decisions.

We still psychologically and physically need the collaboration of our tribe to survive, only now we don't do it directly face to face, we have (foolishly) entrusted our political and corporate "chiefs" and "shamans" to serve as our intermediaries in nearly every capacity, and the tribe obliges their every dirty trick. The tiger masks and bearskins they wear may be only ceremonial, but when they smile the predatory teeth and voracious appetites are real enough. It's "only a metaphor", but we all know the truth of it on some level, and survival mode (or shutdown) seems reasonable to the parts of us that do, especially for those of us who were raised by wolves and learned early, and well. Once bitten, twice shy. A few magic words don't heal the scars or change the past, or the present; the future only gets better if we stop preying on each other and create an environment and culture we are better adapted for.
