When people ask me why i love Lost, i show them this video. I love Lost because of this kind of moments. Biblical references, historical references, destiny, faith and more abstract concepts.
This scene is kind of a double meaning to me. On the one hand, it's a foreshadowing towards Jack's belief in the island. But it's also a foreshadowing to Ben's inevitable encounter with Jacob and the fact that he was only ever remembered and treated for his bad actions and his service was seemingly forgotten on Jacob, the man that Ben served his entire life. This is a great scene in the context of the episodes past this point.
I don’t know why but this scene always make me feel ”beginning of the End” strongly. Ben and Jack seems so calm down here even though they were going back to the island on next day...
I love this story about St. Thomas and use it when we have the story of him doubting. He was willing to die with Jesus, when the others were not. Justice for St. Thomas. 🙏
My pastor did a great sermon over Thomas; mainly talking about how he gets a bad rap: My pastor talked about how Thomas was the one to ask questions that the other disciples did not ask and of course his words about going to Judea with Jesus to die. The biggest emphasis tho is that when Jesus appeared to the other disciples, they were afraid and hiding from persecution (John 20:19). However, Thomas was not with them. My pastor speculated that _someone_ had to go out and risk their life to get supplies and find information. Since Thomas shows up in the next section, this person could be Thomas the risk taker: who had the courage to ask questions and proclaim to die with Jesus. Finally: once Thomas touches the wounds of Jesus; he proclaims “My *Lord* and my *GOD*.” None of the other disciples did this. None of the other disciples proclaimed Jesus like this before. It’s the launching point for the soon to be Apostles’ ministry. Because of this, I don’t call him “Doubting Thomas,” I call him “Thomas the risk-taker.”
They already told us that Jack was going to die in the island in this scene ! Ben is refering to him as Jesus, wanting to go back to the island, where he will die, and Ben is Thomas, the one who is gathering all the others to go back with him to the island. But people don't remember the good things he did, only her bad actions were remembered !
Ben Linus was no villain, Ben was a redemptive character. The entire point of L O S T was that there were no villains or heroes. Just people and how they got to be they way they were.
I think even Keamy had subtle moments of regret over what he was doing. His facial expressions during the scene where he kills Alex shows a man who doesn't necessarily want to kill her. Plus they do delve into his background slightly so you get an idea of why he is like he is. I think he's largely right anyway. There are people in it who are a whole lot worse than others but nothing seems left to 'this person is always characterised as good or bad'.
@shevcheby its part of the track "Dharmacide" from the original soundtrack of lost. you can probably found it here on youtube. The part from the clip starts after a minute into the song.
I love this show, but biblical or religious shit always made me laugh. People believe what they are told and never question, They think they are small dust, or sinners who need redemption or they go to hell. Nice brain-washing technigue that works. But anyways, I don't mind it, the show is too good to be ruined by something like that.
One of the finest scenes in all of television history. Just my opinion.
It’s little moments like this that make this show unbeatable
He just couldn't wrap his mind around it. The tone of his voice is exquisite.

One of my favourite scenes in all TV history.
I remember this scene! Gave me chills back then and gives me chills now!. Praise God! Unfortunately, we’ll probably won’t see a show like Lost again.
Does The Good Place count?

Ben only served himself.
Jack’s a Saint
@@alicekohler9405But he only became that way because the Island turned him into that. It was destiny, Jacob and the Island's Will.
@alicekohler9405 another simpleton weighs in.
One of my favourite scenes of all time.
Ben was an antagonist, but he was never the villain.
Zachs Mind MiB was the villain. Ben was like Widmore, sometimes an enemy sometimes an ally.
@@jimmy2k4o just mislead
Ben was def a villain at times lol
This is why I love LOST! It mixes science and faith and shows how they're both needed to work together! Such truth!
This inspired a Sunday school lesson I taught recently. Lost is so awesome.
Lifelong faithful Catholic here. This scene hits me so hard.
Same here....one of the best scenes in the show amongst many, many great scenes. And I always forget that Thomas said that.
Peace be with you

We’re all convinced sooner or later ♥️
This is why I love Ben.

I see... Jack is like thomas the apostle.
Based St. Thomas
The best kind of villain is one with extensive biblical knowledge. Well done, Ben Linus.

I liked this scene. Ben was right about Thomas needing to be convinced and we all do, like he said to believe Jesus.
miraculous music makes LOST even better

I wish they’d have kept the part where jack starts crying
I couldn't find anything about that, could you poinnt me to where it came from?

It´s season 5 episode 6 min 13:46
🙌
I would like your comment except that it has 42 likes already and that is perfect. I would feel bad disturbing that until it achieved 108.
I'm pretty sure Locke's dad was a villain.
tahja215 that’s why Locke took his revenge in the flash sideways,
But he felt guilty for it to maintain his super ego sanity.
Caravaggio's ;)
Yeah if Jack is a 'doubting tom' then Tomas would of mantled Jesus Christ as Jack Shepherd mantled John Locke.
And the MiB.
what is the song in the background called? does anyone know?
+Chris Beavers a version of Ben's theme
it's Benjamin linus theme.
in which episode was it ?
Uh...Keamy?
this is about locke right?
More references to island, that jack didnt believe in and wanted proofs
Hindu Born. The Bible is the Truth ✝️. Love Lost.
