Translation of Joo: "she ki ya= bad way of saying you little" "Ya= hey" 0:54-1:02= Hey you! Do you know what time it is?! What's the hand for?! Shut up you little! 1:14-1:19= What are you doing?! We got no time! 1:29-1:48= Move, move! You little.(After he is finished with the piano)Okay? Do it slow. Sit down! 1:55-2:03= Focus, focus. Tempo, tempo, tempo is very important. Hey you! Look at your hands! 2:04-2:11One, two, three four. Da da da da... What are you doing right now?!
Just simply, profound. Proundly hilarious! I love how he does Rachmaninoff'ian descending alternating chord, arpeggios, Tchaikovsky finale cadences from the 3rd mvt, B-flat minor concerto, and then out of nowhere, Chopin's double descending octaves from op.10, no.5. And to top it off, the victim then has to imitate his teacher!
It's a skit. He's not actually being harmed. The two are acting, and it's a part of a larger show. To enjoy the antics of these two, you have to have a pretty open mind, an affinity for slapstick comedy, and the ability to not take things too seriously. I find this hilarious!
I wonder if Igudesman was scared by the way Joo was flinging about his violin bow...If I were Igudesman, I would have been worried that Joo would break it...After all, Joo stomped on the piano! :O
seems scary but behind this humour i can feel the reality. if u have strict piano teacher who is also little gone nuts this is what happens. expecting always more than u can do and keep scolding you. classic music training is always hard and u need to work a lot. so i understand.(after 10 years:D)this way is scary but also in future u understand why ur teacher was like that. and i don't expect anything. because people who are deeply inside classic music always losing their mind... cruel and old style... but still works...
the reason why they combine comedy and music is to make classical music more accesible to a younger audience. and isn't comedy an art form within itsef?
It's very nice you checked my profile! I hope I've improved alot after you last message. I know that it will make you jealous, but Joo is a great pianist, musician, and ARTIST, by the way.
@niphrodel you are not the only one. The look in the guys face at 2:29 just makes me even more sad, like he is touched by the beauty of the music and by the impossible dream of doing it too.
Did you know that the atomic bomb was used only twice, and both times the United States used the atomic bomb, killing hundreds of thousands of people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Did you know that the United States destroyed more than 100,000 Vietnamese in the Vietnam War? Did you know that the United States has killed one million Iraqis in Iraq? Did you know that hundreds of thousands of Americans have been killed because of their skin color and because of American racist policies? Did you know that the President of the United States is the only president in the history of the world who assassinated an Iranian general during a legal visit to Iraq? How does the United States claim to uphold human rights?
Maria Fernanda Zapata The way to do it is find a song you know extremely well, then get a teacher to show you how to read it and how to play it. Then listen to it 74 more times, (at least) working on it.
This is my piano teacher in early 90’s in Russia! Now i’m playing saxophone
LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haaaa hahaha haaaa hahahaha
Я хорошо вас понимаю 😂😂😂
I watched them 2 days ago live in Düsseldorf😊They are still ingenious!
my favourite part is when the teacher does the whole virtuostic lizst-ian thing on the entertainer, and the student looks like he's gonna cry...
We saw the video yes

All music teachers need to watch this.
Who ever taught a lesson understand this so well . They are great
I could watch the first 30 seconds over and over again and still not get tired of it.
it would be unfair to say that it brings back memories...these guys are to die for
They are talented for music but they are talented for acting too!
Sorry

So funny and so true...only teachers and students fully appreciate this humor.
I love this. The last time I saw genius musical humor like this, some years ago, was Victor Borge, may he rest in peace.
Well, now it's Joo's turn to play the violin!! :D
Whenever I try to explain to my friends what is a Russian teaching method of playing a piano, I show them this....

This makes classical music kinda more enjoyable. I LOVE classical music. I see nothing wrong with this. These videos cheer me up greatly
as a person who studied classical violin from a 92 years old russian teacher, you can guess that it wasn't that far from this XD
I love the flying kick at the end XD
E-V-E-R-Y piano teacher's *secret* fantasy - so liberating......................

I love how they switch roles. One will be the goofball.I would hate to have a teacher like that
the reason why they combine comedy and music is to make classical music more accesible to a younger audience.

I went to see them in London, it was truly amazing.
I had a piano teacher just like this...
If I´d recieve piano lessons like that, I´d end up hating the piano...or leaving the teacher, hahaha!
Oh shit. It's Han from Fast and the Furious :D
it's like... hard to explain. it's not a swear word or anything but is a mean word to refer to guys
It's very nice you checked my profile!

This is NOT the way to teach a student, but it is very funny!
@koolkat104 totally! The first 30 seconds is the best part of the video
2:33 is that the end of the Tchaikovsky piano concerto no. 1? and does he reference the end of chopin's black key etude?
