The Transbay Tube is where they reach top speed. However, around the halfway point of the Tube, the trains make this ear-piercing screech that lasts for almost a minute, and it is apparently louder than a jackhammer. Add to the fact that your ears are succumbing to the low pressure of being 135 feet underwater, and that's a trip through hell. Hopefully the new Fleet of the Future cars don't screech as much.
They have to keep platforms 1 and 2 out of regular service so that they don't go over budget spending money for maintenance and track repair when ridership is hell. I know it's lame, but if ridership increases (hopefully since California is no longer a highway-dominant state), then maybe platforms 1 and 2 will be back in service again. It's kind of the same case at SFO, where they don't use the center track, and at Colma, where they don't use the track to the side.
@@Supreme56Animation just like the platform 3 at columa bart station where that one to the right just never gets used and I love how the lights in the tunnel change from daly city to coupma and yea
Love the train buzz at the start !
the trains are going about 90mph here. its insane how fast they go.

It’s actually really quiet now because they came through with a rail grinder and now it’s not as loud
👍👍👍keep it up!☺☺☺😃
One question why is Platforms 1&2 not opening up
at the Airport? when the station was built they projected a higher ridership to the airport using the line. but that never happened.
