Oh my lord, this is insane, the clips for even the smallest time saves are crazy!!! I love every single clip in this video, and so many different ones had my jaw dropping. My favourite by far was pillars, such a simple concept that no one did before, (moon cave skip is also like so fecking awesome I just had to rewatch pillars like 3 times)
Glad you like them! That pillars strat looks simple, but its actually one of the hardest segments in the whole video. Same with that strat for moon cave skip where they bring a rocket flower up top!
Is it really? I suppose aligning the fireballs would be difficult but I wouldn’t have assumed it was harder than 2P MCS with the rocket flower or even any of the several billion moon clips throughout the run 😂
It’s crazy how back in 2019, we though subhour would be where the game ends. Now, we’ve far surpassed it to beating the game in under 52 minutes. To say that this progression is crazy would be a massive understatement. Love the video Zack, the editing is superb :)

How are we able to clip into the first moon area to get the first moon without cappy and how is cappy able to stay up by the island in the sky after we get the moon? Becaus it’s a story moon with cutscenes
In 2P, if you don't have cappy you can still do a capthrow without him, known as a "fake throw". It has the same properties as a capthrow and can be used for instant roll cancel clips! Cappy doesn't "stay out" after the cutscene; his position is stored before the moon grab, and then by doing an ICRC (instant cappy return cancel) after the moon cutscene, he goes back to that stored position. It's weird LOL

I'm always curious as to how when making a bttv like this you don't avoid accidentally splicing and gaining a frame or two, especially cause sometimes it feels like there are unnecessary segments? Seems hard to do
It is hard! This took an extremely long time to put together. All of the clips timings are stored on the BTT sheet, so as I went along, I was tallying up the exact number of frames it was meant to be. I’d check every few clips if I was on target for this, and if not, I’d stop and backtrack to find the issue. It’s very complicated, especially when you introduce 30fps clips and have to figure out which of the doubled frames is the correct one!
It uses capture storage which no one really understands how it works, but its to do with capturing the bill the frame it goes off screen or something? Happened to Jambo and I on accident in a run last week hahah
I’m now wondering if 49 is possible maybe give it a few years and the BTT will drop to 49 Edit: it’s kinda like sub hour nobody thought it was possible the only difference is that that was 10 minutes slower than this and if we get this we will have used almost all of the time save in the game

First moon skip is possible in 1.3, just with a different method (and slower). And there are only 5 moons in pre peace cascade so you have to get the first moon in order to leave.
@@jonathanbezy721in 1.0, you can fight Madame broode and get the multi moon without collecting the first moon. In 1.3, you can’t fight her without the first moon. Without that multi moon, there just aren’t enough moons in the kingdom to leave without the first one
For the most part, moons where this is an issue are groundpound moons, as you can move around inside the moon after it’s revealed for about a second before you grab it. The idea is that theoretically you can move Mario to any position inside the moon during this animation, so even if the clips aren’t aligned, in theory there’s no reason that the previous clip couldn’t have grabbed it in the same spot, so it’s allowed. There are definitely cases where a clip could be rejected as invalid though if the difference is too extreme. For the purposes of BTT though, we can write off the minor differences

Nope first moon skip isn’t possible in 1.3, which the btt is in. They don’t skip the first moon, they just get it later on in the kingdom.
