Learning to kick start the trials bike while balancing. It's something to do when the weather's bad.

With inclement weather, I'm still trying to improve on anything I can. This time I wanted to balance and kick start the bike.

I still can't kick start my brand new Gas Gas txt 300. I bought it new in July of last year. Never could start this bike. It's not the bike, it's definitely me. 3 other guys started it no problem at all. I just don't have the strength I'm embarrassed to admit. Maybe fighting throat cancer, 3 surgeries and 2 months of daily radiation are to blame? Also I lost over 100 pounds going through this hell and I now weigh 121 pounds. Hopefully this coming season things will be better for me and I can finally enjoy my new gasser😊

Don't be sad bro, the TXT 300 sometimes is hard to start, you can install de low compression head, it'll be easier to kick.

Wow your balance has come a long way, I've got no chance of kick starting my Beta while balanced. Something else I've got to practice, 😂

I'm certainly not a master, but I spent one hours just figuring out where the starter is. Then it took a couple hours before I could start the bike and remained balanced for at least 4-5 seconds. Keep practicing.

      Practice makes perfection.
In the Beta Evo the kick is on the left side, and in my case I wear an orthopedic knee brace on my left leg which makes it even more difficult, but after a lot of insisting and a great deal of stubbornness I can now easily start the engine, I'm super happy 💪💪

@@franciscoromano377 Right now, it is easier for me on the Gas Gas, but I have been able to start my Beta.
Good to hear that you have it mastered!!

Impressive balance! It's also cold and snowing where I am, so these are great training ideas for the winter. Thanks!

My friend Josh and I discussed this a couple days ago. Both of us believe it could takes years to reach a point where you have it mastered, but until then it is a perishable skill.
If we don't practice regularly we fall back to not being as good. Like a second language, use it or lose it.

Which bike is this. I’ve seen the ones comparing the Beta vs Gasgas. I
My right ankle has a plate 6 screws and three pins in it from a parachuting accident while in the military. I remember the old Bultaco having a left kickstart and thought that would be better to use my good ankle instead of the bad one. Nice videos. I’d be in the Novice or Intro 65 or older class. I used to ride dirt bikes in the 70’s. But have only ridden ridden street bike since then.

The bike inside the garage is the Gas Gas. Sorry to hear the ankle causes some restrictions, but there are options. Yes you could get a Beta, left side kick start, but there are other options too. The TRS can be bought with an electric start as can a Montessa, albeit the Montessa is probably the most expensive trials bike. One way or another, I'd say get one. It's addictive and I love riding mine.
