I wash my cilantro, and then spin off as much water as possible in a salad spinner. I align all the stalks in the same direction and then put them in a long, plastic container lined with paper towels. I put another paper towel on top, snap on the lid, and then store it in the fridge. Whenever I need some, I just take it off the top of the pile, replace the top paper towel if its too wet, and put back in fridge. I have had cilantro last 3 weeks this way.
Thanks a lot for your valuable insights! 👍
Great idea. Does the cilantro not break in the spinner that you can align the stalks?
Thank you for sharing I'm going to try this
I tried this it works thank you for #sharing this is my new way now
This is great. Cilantro spoils so fast. I've thrown out more than I care to think. Thank you!
You are very welcome!
Same. And my heart hurst every time I have to throw out some. Thanks so much for sharing
Ditto
Lmao, just use it instead of being lazy or making excuses.
You'll never be wasting anything away if you do that.
Freezing cilantro is a game changer and I will definitely try it!
Glad that you enjoyed the tips! I hope it works out for you! 😊🪴
This is a joy to watch cicili. So many good recipes, tricks and your lovely personality. Plus the bonus of superb music in the background! Thank you so much
Thank you for your heart warming comment! It gives me the motivation to moving forward! 😊
I agree.
Happiness is contagious!
Lovely presentation, thank you.
Wow! This is awesome. Typically, I layer a small sheet of Bounty paper towel in the bottom of a plastic container, then put in the washed cilantro, add another paper towel at the top, and cover. It does last for weeks.
That's a great idea also! The paper towel will absorb the extra moisture. 👍
Thank You 💖 I love cilantro but I live miles away from the grocery store. This year I planted 2 cilantro and it's already growing like crazy👍 I needed this. I've kept it in water but didn't cover it and put it in the fridge. I'll be sure to go home and trim my plants today.
Thank you for watching this video! I also like to plant cilantro in my garden. 😊🪴
Thank you so much for very helpful tip in preserving cilantro leaves!
☺️🙏
Wonderful! Thanks! I did this way of covering with plastic with lettuce. And in this way with paper towels, I put a small packs ofs silica. The silica you can use in food (like the one that comes in the sachet and along with Vitamins, collagen power and etc.). E and I use this type silica in the packages that come with watercress, spinach and others and so it lasts a long time.
Thank you for your valuable insights!
Good tips thank you!
You are so cool, thank you for your videos. I had not yet attempted to use a glass of water, this is so much easier than drying the leaves and storing them in layers, as I was.
So glad that you enjoy it! 😊🙏
Thank you so mutch for this great Idea! Cus I love Celantro!
You are most welcome! ☺️
This is good information. I was wondering what to do when I purchase in bulk.
My mother-in-law’s version doesn’t work in this crisis.
Great tip! 👍🏽
Thank u. Will try the other 2 methods. Been freezing all along.
Wonderful presentation. Thanks so much!
Our Family Loves both cilantro & green onions, I will definitely be growing my gr. Onions inside now!! I have grown them before outside in my small herb garden. I was cutting mine and planting them only 1" long, as I used the top of the white part. I think they grow okay that way. I can't wait to grow them inside in a pot now!! We have saved cilantro by wrapping them in paper towels. They last much better. One other thing we do that I can share is washing fruits, berries & veggies to last longer & stop mold from growing: there is a recipe with vinegar & water to wash them with, that works great. I believe it was 1C vinegar to 3 Cups of water to rinse in. Be sure to air dry them or wipe where possible. See if you have less problems & much Less waste!! Happy Cooking Foodies👅🍇🫐🍓🥒🍅🌶🍋
Thanks so much for sharing your kitchen tips and tricks with me! ☺️👍
Sounds yummy I will try it.
!a
I has been washing mine in vinegar and saw a woman on Today show say not to wash your fruit until you're ready to use it because it doesn't last as long, especially strawberries. I now just seal them in airtight containers until I'm ready to use them.
I am learning so much from your videos.. so glad i found you accidently... much appreciated!!!
Welcome to my channel! I post a brand new video every Friday. I hope to see you around! 😊

definitely - anything past a week is great news. I usually just freeze it, since I use most of it in smoothies or soups, etc. I always save some fresh for salads, etc.
Thank you very much, CiCi

CICI LI good morning I am so happy I came across your channel and learned how to preserve CILANTRO my favorite herb in cooking, mixing with onions & tomatoes a little bit of vinegar & chili for dipping with fried chicken, fish or meat. Thank you very much it’s a great help because when I vacation with my daughter in Ohio, my son-in-law always buying cilantro because he knew that’s my favorite and theirs, too. I also learned from your channel how to grow colantro in pot. Here in the Philppines it cost so expensive in supermarkets and we can buy lot of cilantroin DIVISORIA MARKET, in the City of Manila Again thank you somuch hope i can make cilantro grow, God bless you & Family😊 ❤️💕🌹🙏😘😍🥰🌞🤗
Thank you for the lovely comment! I’m also a huge fan of cilantro. Really glad that you enjoyed my videos, and best wishes to you and your family! 😊👍🌿
Had to say your video was very informative! 🙏🏽
Glad it was helpful! Thank you! :)
Great ideas I will try this
☺️🙏
I've tried this again & again & it really works! The key is to assure the cilantro is really dry before wrapping it.
Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks!
Great video; I didn’t know about the first two methods, however 3rd method I tried in the past. It worked well except for garnish :). Thanks for an awesome video presentation!
Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed the video. Have fun cooking and eating! 😊🪴
@@CiCiLi, it’s been 2 weeks and the cilantros are still fresh!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Thanks again!
Thank you for your video
It’s my pleasure! ☺️
Thanks for the good tips😊
☺️🙏
Thanks for the tips!! For method one, I get an awful lot of condensation o the bag (I change the water every or every other day) … the leaves tend to yellow out slightly before a week as well, any tips on how to preserve them better in this method?
Thanks for the info! I LOVE cilantro in my Mexican dishes, but it never lasts long. I'll start freezing it now.
I love cilantro also. You just can’t replace its taste. It’s so refreshing!
Thank you ❤
Thanks! My fridge fteezes my cilantro sometimes and I never think to just freeze it for soups/stews/stirfry, and never tried the fridge water trick though grivers do something similar to makr it last throufh the idea so it sounds like a great idea.
I hate that I rarely get more than a couple of days in fresh cilantro, ai'm growing some hydroponically upstairs because the ueat made my planted cilabtro all bolt (hopefully to the end of having nice cilantro growing this fall)
I hope this video will help you preserve your cilantro for longer. Happy cooking! 😊🌱
Awesome.
Thank you Cici!! I love cilantro and parsley and like to have both on hand. Now I can!!
In love cilantro too. Thanks for stopping by! ☺️
Great tips! I use some wet tissue on the ends and put it in a plastic or zip lock bag lasts about 2 weeks :) gonna try these methods out :) also run foul on the ends of bananas keeps them fresh too!
That sounds like a cool idea. Thanks! ☺️
Thank you...great information c c
You are so welcome 😊
Thanks CICi, now I can make more salsa for my chips.
You are most welcome! 😊
thanks 4 sharing
Thanks for visiting! :)
A lovely and practical presentation CiCi Li! I think that the first option will probably work best for me. It always disappoints me when I have to discard fresh cilantro that I have purchased less than a week ago. I will give your suggestion a try. Thank you for sharing. Cheers!
I’m glad that I can help! Stay safe and sound! 😊🙏
You can dry the herbs on a tray remove the stems and dry the leaves in the sun indoors or outdoors. It works fine you dont always need a warm oven but that is ok also. Make sure oven temperature is very low. But mostly I put on a tray and allow cilantro, Basil and parsley to dry out inside or outdoors in sunshine. If you have a garden that is a plus but if you dont you can purchase the herbs very cheaply at farmers markets.
@@luciaterrizzi1881 I do this with many herbs, but Cilantro loses a lot of its flavour. I store mine in a Tupperware much like method no. 2
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful! 😊
I also use the first method to keep green onions fresher longer. First though, I trim off the roots to have a fresh cut edge to promote water uptake by the green onions
Thanks for sharing!
awsome, thank you.
You're so welcome!
Thank you!!
You are very welcome! 😊

I'm glad that you find them useful. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks
Tell me about some receipted that you use the cilantro on. I have some growing in my herb planter and it is getting bushy but I am not ready to cook it. I will just cut it as I need it for salads. I don’t know how to use it but in salads.
Thank you!
You're so welcome!
great video!
Many thanks! ☺️
I love cilantro ! It is such a great blood cleaner. I take 1 bag of cilantro, 1 avocado, 1/2 large onion, garlic, lime juice , avocado or olive oil , whatever peppers and spices I have handy and I make a really delicious pesto for
my keto diet. It is great on zucchini noodles, egg life wraps, mung bean noodles etc. or just as a dressing for salad. Very versatile ....just make it your way !
Thanks for the recipe! 👍
nice! I use most of mine in heavy metal detox smoothies which include wild blueberries and some other detoxing seaweeds - spirulina and dulse. I usually eat 1/2 to 1 bunch a day like this. while I lived in China they had cilantro pesto - and I FELL IN LOVE with it (it wasn't from China though - it was imported from somewhere - australia? Europe? not sure). I need to make some cilantro pesto - I like it so much more than basil pesto!!!
@@mchrysogelos7623 : Thanks for that recipe! I get cilantro from our Aldi store which means it comes from Mexico !
lovely as usual
Thank you! 😊🙏
Thank you
You are very welcome! :)
I will probably freeze some of it since I anticipate it growing abundantly. I am the only one eating it so more for me.
Thnx a lot for sharing such an informative video. Stay blessed!
Thank you for stopping by! 😊🙏
I’ve always wondered how people rents delicate Herbs like cilantro? I have a tendency to want to scrub everything or I don’t feel like it’s clean. But you can’t scrub cilantro, so how do you rinse your cilantro as simple of a question as that seems I would have liked to have seen the way that you do it.? do you soak it? Do you just hold it gently and run water over it thank you so much for the tips.!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks 👍👍👍
Thank you for stopping by! ☺️
I love you for this. Same for Parsley?
Yep, it will work as well.
I'm using the paper towel method. I'm glad I looked into the cilantro because it spoils fast, and I've thrown away a lot. Thxs
Glad it was helpful! Happy Cooking! :D
Thanks for sharing, do you keep or throw away the Cilantro roots ?They are the best ! Keep them for cooking Thai cuisine. whenever I fry glass noodle with seafood, Best
My grocery stores never sell cilantro with roots. That's very unfortunate! Thanks for the tips! 😊
thank-you
☺️🙏
Thank you for this helpful information. I will try method 3 but my question is with the Cilantro, do you pull off the leaves and then chop or you can blend everything? Also instead of chopping can I blend in a processor?
Hi there! The stems are also edible. You can just chop them up or use a food processor. Enjoy! ☺️🌿
Good show cicili
☺️🙏
Thanks so much for this. I hate my cilantro turning black after just a few days 🙏🏻🙋🏻♂
I hope it helps! ☺️
Thanks 🙏
☺️🙏
nice! thanks for sharing, new here nice channel and recipes. Full w. lked Stay blessed
Welcome to my channel! I post a new video every Friday. Please stay tuned! ☺️
@@CiCiLi welcome to visit my home.
Can I use this for salsa after freezing?
I love coriander , but I found it hard to save ,, Thanks for the tips ,
I’m glad that I can help! 😊
Thank you!!!
Is it best to leave a full stem with the paper wrap method????
I will eat the stems, but wanted to save space???
I usually keep the stems because they are eatable. 😊
Any idea if method 1 works with other greens IE spinach ?
Love listening to her cute voice 😆
Lol. Thanks 😁
wow ! do u have any tips for basil ?
I was wondering the same. Lately I've been turning it into pesto & freezing it in ice cube-size containers. It's not leafy but the basil flavor is still there.
I like your video, very nice for sharing, I subbed 👍👌💕
Thank you! And welcome to my channel! ☺️
I love Cilantro, its not bland like parsley,it has so much flavor and gives a nice taste to curries and I even add them when I make cutlets.
I use it instead of lettuce on sandwiches.
I totally agree!
