    Great music selection 👍 really enjoyed that. Also good to see how a 5 day float would go with kids. My 4 year old isnt ready but my 16 year old would enjoy and my 9 year old. Looked like the girls loved it. Thanks for sharing

    Awesome experience! Brings back great memories. I did that same float in my drift boat with my son when he was about your youngest daughters age. I think you know him. Kyle Wilkinson. Anyway, we caught a bunch of smallmouth. Conventional gear wasn't working as well as flies. Great memories you are building with your kids.

    I was on the river around the same time. It rained on us pretty good so it must of been just before you. I had never seen the river so high! It was tough fishing for us also. Always a good time with the family. Great video!

    • @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker
      @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker  2 роки тому

      Yeah you must've been there during that bump in the river! :D The fishing was definitely the best the last day. But it just means we have to go back to enjoy the typical JD Smallmouth experience. Curious have you done the Clarno to Cottonwood stretch? I'd like to do that next.

    • @mikewest7585
      @mikewest7585 2 роки тому

      @@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Yes! when the water is lower you can get a hundred of them in a day! Keep a couple of the bigger ones and make tacos or ramen at camp. Good Stuff. I have not done that section. We always take out at Clarno. I hear its a great section also though, just need to make it through the Clarno rapids first!

      @@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Re-watching this before our trip this year. We are floating from 30 mile to Cottonwood. We did that last year too and it was an epic trip. Launching at 30 mile you skip the clarno rapids so its great for the family.

    • @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker
      @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker  5 місяців тому

      @mikewest7585 how many miles does it cut off to launch at 30?

      @@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker I know the float is about 45 miles from 30 mile to cottonwood. We'll do it in 4 days. If you get a permit I can send you some more information if you'd like.

    • @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker
      @TheFlyFishingFilmmaker  2 роки тому +2

      Well we got the raft last year so they were 10 - 12. But they have been in a canoe since they were born. I think we took our oldest out when she was 2 weeks old.
