Great music selection 👍 really enjoyed that. Also good to see how a 5 day float would go with kids. My 4 year old isnt ready but my 16 year old would enjoy and my 9 year old. Looked like the girls loved it. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Yeah if you are into fishing its such a great trip. Those are some great ages for that trip
Great Dad
Haha I was thinking great kids, glad they were happy to spend the time with me.
Looked like a fun trip. Nice video. Well done.
Thanks Sam! It was a ton of fun!
“There is an upstream wind, so I expect (we) are gonna have some extra rowing” This is known as the dad wind. 😂.
haha so true
Very nice!
Thanks! Love our Exped gear!
Lucky girls. Nice work dad!
Love the eddy float around!
I prefer the Deschutes.
Looks like an awesome trip. Lovely video.
Thanks Johan! Appreciate you taking the time to watch.
what a wonderful video. All the best, Holmen.
Many thanks! I live tour latest hammock camping video, love your setup. Will be sharing it later this month on my community tab. I like sharing interesting videos and have a backlog of scheduled posts.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker thats very kind, hope it suits your veiwers. All the best, Holmen.
What a treat to have that amazing back Eddy to play in.
Yeah it was pretty cool!
What a great video of a great experience. Those girls are going to talk about that trip for the rest of their lives. You, sir, are a good dad.
Thanks! All we can do is try our best!
That is what it's all about right there. Well done Mark!
Thanks so much Brent. I love seeing you getting your nephews out as well.
As a Seattle resident and father of 2 son who are similar age of yours, this video inspired me a lot. What a beautiful family and trip. Just wondering how did you get back to your car after 5day camping
Good question! There are shuttle services that will shuttle your car. I use a lockbox and some aluminum foil.
Its a great stretch to do when there is enough water!
Also feel free to email me if you have questions
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker will do definitely 👍
what raft are you running? epic video and very inspiring
This is the Water Master Bruin by Big Sky Inflatables
Love your videos! What a fun trip! Curious how you did the shuttle back to your van?
For popular rivers there are often shuttle services, we used a company called service creek services
Thanks!
Hi! I think we are in same area. I’m a boater and a poor fly fisherman.
Haha nice! Are you in Seattle?
Those crickets are so weird!!
Yeah the Jerusalem ticket is crazy looking. There's a bunch of cicada mixed in as well if it sounds weird.
Dude! Great job. Awesome music, editing. Lots of great video and production quality and storytelling. Nice job with your map dissolves. Good narration. Lots of smiles and family connection 👌
Thanks man, always appreciate the thoughtful support
Awesome experience! Brings back great memories. I did that same float in my drift boat with my son when he was about your youngest daughters age. I think you know him. Kyle Wilkinson. Anyway, we caught a bunch of smallmouth. Conventional gear wasn't working as well as flies. Great memories you are building with your kids.
Oh yeah I love Kyle! So you are responsible for his love of outdoors! So cool to see him following his dream to be a guide and making it happen. Hoping to go visit him up in Alaska before he leaves there.
I think I'd have to drag him away. 😄
@@sagerat8494 Haha well, I really want to make it up his way and do a video up there. I really want to get a leopard trout on a mouse.
I was on the river around the same time. It rained on us pretty good so it must of been just before you. I had never seen the river so high! It was tough fishing for us also. Always a good time with the family. Great video!
Yeah you must've been there during that bump in the river! :D The fishing was definitely the best the last day. But it just means we have to go back to enjoy the typical JD Smallmouth experience. Curious have you done the Clarno to Cottonwood stretch? I'd like to do that next.
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Yes! when the water is lower you can get a hundred of them in a day! Keep a couple of the bigger ones and make tacos or ramen at camp. Good Stuff. I have not done that section. We always take out at Clarno. I hear its a great section also though, just need to make it through the Clarno rapids first!
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Re-watching this before our trip this year. We are floating from 30 mile to Cottonwood. We did that last year too and it was an epic trip. Launching at 30 mile you skip the clarno rapids so its great for the family.
@mikewest7585 how many miles does it cut off to launch at 30?
@@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker I know the float is about 45 miles from 30 mile to cottonwood. We'll do it in 4 days. If you get a permit I can send you some more information if you'd like.
Do you guide?
Just friends and family :)
How many hours of editing roughly would you say you invested in this Sir? 🤯
I have no idea, lots and lots of hours. But its hard for me to put a finger on it because sometimes I sit down to edit and I get distracted and am not actually editing or not editing very efficiently.
Gotcha. Makes perfect sense. Amazing video man 👌
@@teamlosi11 Thanks Joel! Appreciate it.
Now that looks like a wicked trip! Something. Great video man!! Great to see you out with the kids! It doesn't get much better then that!
Yeah it was pretty awesome. LOve getting to adventure with these kids, always a fun time.
Looks like an amazing trip. Love the shots. How young were the kids when you first took them on the raft?
Well we got the raft last year so they were 10 - 12. But they have been in a canoe since they were born. I think we took our oldest out when she was 2 weeks old.
