So I might be wrong but +P doesn’t mean more powder but it means Higher pressure. On Ammo types it’s just a higher pressure built ammunition over the other rounds.
I can see the value for beanbag ammo. Knocking down enemies so that you can kill them easier and quicker is pretty nice in a game like this where plenty of enemies like to charge at you (coughdeathclawscough). I'm not sure how effective that is in practice since I've never tried, but I see the point of them and if they work like I think they ought to I would put them in Sidegrade at the very least.
I think the DT of Deathclaws stops some of the fatigue dmg from kicking in, thus requiring more shots than normal (plus creatures tend to have more fatigue than humanoids, like NCR Veteran Rangers/Centurions)
@@sanlorenzo7896i mean it has more power behind it, but again, it's accomplished due to the hogher pressure which is acomplish3d by the higher amounts of powder

Different ammo types is a case that can help a gun or atleast help you fill out a niche for a situation. Such as if the enemy is meaty but not too meaty, then something like over pressure 9mm is good enough. However I do like that despite the existing of armor piercing and such, armor piercing isn't too severely necessary as you can muscle it with higher calibers like, sure if 10 or 9 won't go through, 357 may, 44? Well certainly you will get through, 308? You seriously want them dead. However I feel the most unnecessary from hand loader is the "JHP" and such like, just simplify it to Hallow point or AP, however sooner or later, you will lose track of ammo on what they do even looking at stats, like, is it AP or just more damage? stuff like that, but doesn't mean its not great.
Specifically with 5.56 Surplus, I like to buy it in bulk, tear it apart, then make 5.56 Match with the components. You'll need some extra powder, you'll need some extra lead, but it's got the casings and the primers. Don't get me wrong, it's still scrap tier, but it's at least a useful scrap tier. Chet at Goodsprings will sell you several hundred 5.56 Surplus that, with the right setup, you could turn most of into 5.56 Match by level 6. As far as AP vs HP, I'd generally swap them personally. Unless you're constantly running into Deathclaws or Radscorps or BoS Paladins, the massive damage bonus is nearly always worth the extra DT. The only time I'd really see a lot of use out of AP is if you're running an SMG or other low damage high rate of fire weapon.
Hi, dude! A quick question... I didn't expect your videos to be this recent, what brings you to make this videos now? not a complain but the game is pretty old by now... Anyway very nice videos, very in-depth and useful, thanks bro! cheers!
If you happen so see this, if you make any videos related to ammo or mention ammo in future videos and which ammo is better I would also be interested to know the value side of things, meaning caps of if its worth buying different types of ammo and using the reloading bench to craft ammo of preference... I ask this since the first time I saw the bench, all of them including the ammo reloading one I avoided it not wanting to tinker with it, I find it too complicated and gave it up
Growing up I never updated the game because we didn't have internet, so when I used the .50 cal incendiary ammor for the anti-material rifle and went in and out of vats without shooting it would set people on fire but never got aggro. So I would go around an murder everyone with no consequence. 😅
.308 Hollowpoints loaded into Pacienca are capable of hitting harder than a fully perked out Fatman, the hardest hitting (per shot) weapon mathematically possible in the game infact. Pacienca loaded with Hollowpoint rounds will do more damage with a crit against Power Armour wearing enemies than an Anti-Material Rifle is capable of doing with a crit. Justice for HP, better than AP. (Also Pacienca supremacy).
Nuclear BB, 1 round in the entire gsme, and if you shoot an explosion 19 times larger then the fat man plays and the entier map is covered in radiation so extreme you will die if th3 blast radius doesn't
Kudos for you to not speaking in absolutes on firearms stuff if your not 100%. People get weird about that. Love your stuff. I do have to say, for future reference, +p doesn’t mean plus powder. It equates to plus “pressure”. Which is more powder. You’re not wrong but some pedantic person might pipe up. Ah hell. I’m that guy haha
here is how i ranked them when playing : useless useless useless but a somewhat interesting gimmick , the vast majority of enemies are barely armored or are just outright wild animals and by the time i ˝get to˝ enemies that have heavy armor they are a non issue because both my weapon skills and the weapons i use are high and strong respectively and this was my experience on the hardest difficulty
Gotta disagree on this one. 5mm surplus, bottom tier? It's the only round with significant armor piercing that's available in large quantities. The 5.56 and 7.62 AP so rare they might as well not exist, but you can go buy tens of thousands of 5mm surplus in a haul. An assault carbine with a stack of 5mm surplus will get you through the game no problem. Hell, I cleared out Quarry Junction easily with that combo.
i understand that you don't want shit to be OP in your RPG but SWC rounds are usually unjacketed and may make your gun dirty but 3X condition is a little over the top
I disagree with the place of the bean bags, you put those on a riot shotgun and any 1v1 against anything is really easy, and i think its better than and stay back because sometimes i mag dump a deathclaw and my luck saids no

The only time I'd really see a lot of use out of AP is if you're running an SMG or other low damage high rate of fire weapon.
You can scrap surplus ammo?
@@martingodoy5698 You can break it down in the ammo bench.
@@martingodoy5698 with Jsawyer, yes.
Needed a quick knowledge of best ammo. Especially shotguns. Googled and u got me. 🤙
I ask this since the first time I saw the bench, all of them including the ammo reloading one I avoided it not wanting to tinker with it, I find it too complicated and gave it up
Thanks, mostly it was that I was disapointed in Starfield and wanted to play some more fallout.
YES!! 👊 Thank you for this!
You're so welcome!
Rather just use hand loaded 308
I'm kinda bummed the .22 and BB didn't get some crazy loads, even if they were limited like Holy Hand Grenades
Nuclear BB, 1 round in the entire gsme, and if you shoot an explosion 19 times larger then the fat man plays and the entier map is covered in radiation so extreme you will die if th3 blast radius doesn't
Been watching daily since the junk tier list
Kudos for you to not speaking in absolutes on firearms stuff if your not 100%. People get weird about that. Love your stuff. I do have to say, for future reference, +p doesn’t mean plus powder. It equates to plus “pressure”. Which is more powder. You’re not wrong but some pedantic person might pipe up. Ah hell. I’m that guy haha
very cool video very good topic
Glad you think so!
here is how i ranked them when playing : useless useless useless but a somewhat interesting gimmick , the vast majority of enemies are barely armored or are just outright wild animals and by the time i ˝get to˝ enemies that have heavy armor they are a non issue because both my weapon skills and the weapons i use are high and strong respectively and this was my experience on the hardest difficulty
Ew
Can you make a list based on the enemies you fight?
Let's Goooooo!!!!!!!!!
This is what I was waiting for!!!!
i understand that you don't want shit to be OP in your RPG but SWC rounds are usually unjacketed and may make your gun dirty but 3X condition is a little over the top
When will you run out of stuff to rank in new Vegas?
nails technically count as scrap metal... or reverse scrap metal, since you can turn scrap metal into nails? 😅
5:56!
I need to know what mods you’re using for the better weapon models 😳
I disagree with the place of the bean bags, you put those on a riot shotgun and any 1v1 against anything is really easy, and i think its better than and stay back because sometimes i mag dump a deathclaw and my luck saids no
Pulse slugs have been incredibly useful on more recent playthroughs.
You using the WAP weapon skins without changing the animations makes me angry .
Like a dating site....wait
this game has a crap-ton of ammo, doesn't it? lol.
