    The puppets are unbelievable. And this actor is... astonishing. Naturally funny with an innocence that is incredibly believable.

      Exactly. He has the innocence, imagination, and emotional resilience needed to survive something terrible & come out stronger for it. In this play, imagination is actually his greatest asset.

    Theater has a such transformative power, more than books or even film. I think that makes the play adaptation the most powerful iteration of "The Life of Pi" yet!

    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

      Me too. I was in tears with the beauty of the shipwreck scene. The contrast between the aggressive trotting of the animals on the boat and the lightness with which they were handled to look as though they were floating underwater made me cry at such ingenuity. They created magnificent effects without any water used, and hardly any water-like lighting effect! Just a few blue shades, human props, and superb actors and puppeteers with unbelievable core strength and talent. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Inebriated without a drink!

    • @VoxelKing
      @VoxelKing 2 роки тому +7

      The actors were just asked to use their own natural accents for the authenticity of their voice rather than put on a South Indian accent! The lead's accent just happens to sound like that!

    I have the script if anyone wants me to send you some pages. It’s quite good, actually like 1000 times better than the film script. Haven’t read the book, but not sure there’s a “frame narrative device” in that one.

      Perhaps because this clip is only a few minutes long. When I watched War Horse on stage years ago, at the beginning I remember thinking it was weird to have people operating the horse puppets, but by the end you’re so immersed in the story you almost forget the people are there!
