- In this video, you will see food scams and home cooking done by the Eds. Even though the food scams are only meant to be nothing more than, well, scams, you will notice the qualities of each Ed when they try to work together to make real food.
Ed is unsanitary, clumsy, and once presented himself as a turkey to Jonny. Eddy is impatient and has the tendency to put way too much of an ingredient, such as: salt, butter, sugar, and yeast. Double D is clean and careful with his measurements.
The foods and drinks you will see attempted in this video are: pizza, burgers, tacos, turkey (not really), cream horns, ice cream, omelettes (unfortunately we never get to see them), energy drinks, the world's biggest pancake, etc.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the video is missing a clip of the Eds trying to fix Jimmy's oven. Definitely another piece of evidence that proves Double D knows what he's doing when it comes to cooking.

I find it funny that Double D was convinced that crayons would taste like the food that they’re the same color as because Ed thinks they do. He even tried to “visualize” the yellow crayon as a banana. It’s probably the dumbest we’ve seen Double D act.
Yeah, it always bugged me whenever Double D (or any character for that matter) acts out of character. If he had to try the hot sauce, wouldn't it make more sense to give it a taste after Ed takes a big chug of it with no immediate side effect? I get the writers wanted it to be a funny scene, but breaking character isn't funny to me :/
@@benjaminfenty8745 Honestly if anything it was VERY in-character for Double D. Double D likes to consider himself to be very intelligent (which he is) but to the point where he thinks he’s above everyone else to a certain degree so when he thought Ed could taste food by eating crayons of the same color Double D must’ve thought “surely I could do the same”. He probably thought of it as a “mind over matter” kind of deal and wanted to test it, he does tend to approach things using the scientific method after all.
@@susanaalmeida593 I don't really buy that as every kid tried eating crayons when they were in kindergarten. You don't need to be a genius to know crayons taste like candle sticks. Again, I respect the writers decision to go with the funnier choice over the logical choice, but I still disagree.

I still can't get over why they put a bowling pin into a cream horn. They did a good job making the cream horn. All they needed to do was fill it with cream.

@@letangier2385 The scams in this show consist of Eddy coming up with a business idea, then starting to cut corners while Double D tries to convince him to actually go through with the plan and not turn it into a scam. Ed is just not smart enough to have critical thought so he just goes along with it. It was on purpose
@@BenDover-fo7lg That is how I always saw things working here. Eddy comes up with an idea, but he needs Ed and Double D to actually make the idea work, the latter usually more than the former. Ed does the heavy lifting and sometimes the parts that Eddy and Double D and unable or unwilling to do, but Double D is the one who actually needs to do the work of making the idea work the way it is intended. Eddy usually cares little about whether it works as intended or not so long as he is able to get money from the kids. This inevitably ends up causing the whole thing to backfire when it might have worked using the original plan. Not always or course, there have been some occasions where they actually had legitimately good ideas that were not scams but didn't work for one reason or another.

Lets face it Eddy usually does think of good ideas for scams but since he is incredibly greedy and doesnt put serious thought into it the scams he comes up with that's usually what leads to the eds humiliated and in different predicaments. Admittedly the restaurant idea was good but eddy didn't plan it out properly leaving ed an idiot to cook the food instead of Double D a neat, reasonable and sensible individual who can cook.
That and instead of using actual meat and taco wraps, he used paper plates and dandelions. Even if the scam went smoothly, the kids would figure out it wasn't real food.
I always think the same, it the edds take more time to preparations for they scams the have jawbrakers every time
Heck, they don't even have to do scams. If they put half of the effort they put into any single scam into something for a commission by one of the other kids they would be rolling in quarters.

To be fair in the pancake one, the eds were just minding their own business and the other kids just decided to play in their griddle.
One thing I always found funny was that half if not most of their food ideas could've worked if they just used real food instead of faking it all.
Like the icecream one? They could've just used real icecream or shaved ice for it. Considering how inventive Double D is he most certainly could've built ice making machines.

For the pizza scene the yeast wouldnt act in that way after adding too much to the ingredients for dough. Too much yeast could cause the dough to go flat by releasing gas before the flour is ready to expand. If you let the dough rise too long, it will start having a yeast or beer smell and taste and ultimately deflate or rise poorly in the oven and have a light crust
