This just truly shows what would happen if Jerry had Rick’s intelligence, but Rick had Jerry’s compassion. They literally both admitted they love each other, and are like best friends.
No, that's at the beginning of episode. They died not even 5 second within each other mind. Those two are new person since their mind got fuse. They're nor Jerry nor Rick, they're Jerrick! And that's not their final form.
@thehermit8618 They both have Ricks intelligence(at least big part of it) and Jerrys undemanding personality(dude literally can have fun by doing anything that doesnt make him as depressed as usual, remember when they got tons of burgers and just mixed fillings? Thats Jerry thing) and both also have person who understands them perfectly
Well, they put a spin on that by it not really being a body-swap situation. It's more of both of their personalities got mixed together because of the accident making it two times a new person.
My favorite still needs to be the one from Stargate. Doing a body swap with such radically different characters isnt easy, really tells how good the actors were.
It's everything we needed from a Rick & Jerry's episode. I love how they explored their unexpected friendship and became equal for the first time in the history of the show. Thank you for your analysis and references as always.
@@RaineMisery Rick proved himself a true friend when he gave up a chance to control fate and destiny to save Jerry from dying after having sex with his mother. Who does that?
Honestly, that’s a testament to good character writing. Like you can switch entire full minds into entire full bodies and lazily just call it a day, because they’re still themselves at the end of the day. But if you can break down and analyze the aspects of two different characters and then combine them cohesively, then you truly understood your characters as full complex people rather than just two fictional malleable characters.
Rick and Morty always lambastes Sci-Fi tropes that have been done to death, and prove their point by doing a totally absurd and unexpected twist with them.
@@justinguyos5476 yeah, that’s what I seriously appreciate about this show. There’s really never an episode where I think “ahh that’s been done before. Great…”. It’s always “wooow, they took that old idea and made it weirder. Nicely done!”
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
I like how once given a reset and even boosted level of compassion via Jerry, Ricks first instinct is just to kill himself. On the flip side Jerry died in Rick's body just because he couldn't control all the gadgets and gogahs in Ricks body.
To be fair, he had no way to know all the gadgets rick has inside himself, to the point of just being "darker and edgier deconstruction of inspector gadget"
Rick basically put all of Jerry’s memories into his physical brain, and all of Rick’s memories into Jerry’s physical brain. The mind and the brain aren’t the same, your brain generates reality and your mind is you, your conscious and unconscious self. It’s a byproduct of evolution, I think. We were once biological systems that evolved solely to perform their biological instincts, but eventually, something rewrote its own code, and decided to go against what it was programmed to do, probably in a very very not noticeable way, but it still took charge of its own fate. Your brain makes decisions for you, but your mind is you reacting to your brain’s generation of everything, reacting, being alive. So Rick’s mind was given a new Canvas, Jerry’s brain, and vice versa. Jerry didn’t carry any guilt so he didn’t try to kill himself, but his own naivety got him killed. Rick’s mind in Jerry’s brain couldn’t comprehend how much guilt he was carrying, and so he died. So.. yeah.

Y'know what? I'm glad this happened...especially because I saw something like this as an _inevitability_ ever since Season 3. See, Rick and Morty writers tend to keep their characters in the poorly-written boxes that repeat the same joke over and over. Yet, at the times where Jerry gets to shine, he actually shines brighter than all the other characters, because it feels like the show is _finally doing something with him._ The truth is, if Rick could get past both his own self-loathing and his superiority complex, he and Jerry could actually bond over stuff like this. Heck, between the Whirlydirly Incident, and the Cat, I'd say that Jerry and Rick have been "secret friends" for a while. This seems like a natural point they would _eventually come to._ Even if they hate each other; heck, I used to have one friend who I absolutely _hated_ when I first met him...but he never went away, so I first had to get used to him, and before long, we were teaming up to go on crazy adventures together. So yeah, I really think that relationships and strong bonds of friendship...really only need _close proximity_ to occur.
I HOPE there will be more of jerrick ( Here an Edit if the Writers see this lol: Jerrick or his ultimate form at the End of the Episode, should like safe Ricks nad or Jerrys life at one point in an epic fight or something, would be Fun lol)

Y'know what? I'm glad this happened...especially because I saw something like this as an _inevitability_ ever since Season 3.
See, Rick and Morty writers tend to keep their characters in the poorly-written boxes that repeat the same joke over and over. Yet, at the times where Jerry gets to shine, he actually shines brighter than all the other characters, because it feels like the show is _finally doing something with him._
The truth is, if Rick could get past both his own self-loathing and his superiority complex, he and Jerry could actually bond over stuff like this. Heck, between the Whirlydirly Incident, and the Cat, I'd say that Jerry and Rick have been "secret friends" for a while. This seems like a natural point they would _eventually come to._
Even if they hate each other; heck, I used to have one friend who I absolutely _hated_ when I first met him...but he never went away, so I first had to get used to him, and before long, we were teaming up to go on crazy adventures together. So yeah, I really think that relationships and strong bonds of friendship...really only need _close proximity_ to occur.
This was such a great episode^^
I love, that the consequences here might even be, that Memory Rick is canonically stuck inside of Jerry’s brain!
Awesome Rick and Morty Video.
💀💀💀
Thank you so much for your vid 😊
bro this is one of the best episodes ever
1:03 is that a cabbage guy reference?
The howard dean scream. Lol
I HOPE there will be more of jerrick ( Here an Edit if the Writers see this lol: Jerrick or his ultimate form at the End of the Episode, should like safe Ricks nad or Jerrys life at one point in an epic fight or something, would be Fun lol)
That’s not Rick and Jerry, it’s Burger and Fries lol
this's why that's my favorite rick and morty episode
I miss Rick and Morty’s old voice
Rick does sound a little different but morty is literally the same
@@SrMadru
No he does not Justin deepened Morty's voice as the series progressed and it was like he actually aged. Now its the reverse.
My favorite episode yet 😂
I love how new and fresh the new season is, I have no idea where things are going. Pretty excited to see where this new direction leads :)
Pretty interesting how these two are completely new people and its such a interesting concept to think about
Nobody talking about Rick and Mortys voices being so clearly different? Wild
It’s a well-known fact that it is a new voice actor for each character, and if you look through the comments, it seems to be quite the top of the town!
Every time Rick ditches Morty for another partner he ends ups happier
This episode is so wholesome for some reason
I guess so 2013 aside this being another 2nd EP from lawnmower dog in '23 it sure has it's moments I mean really ambushed by a goon inna tree ? hmm well me adding in alien hooey was ideal again should had said "gotcha"
@@zoidlloyd7736 most latest episode rn doesn't feel like the old seasons anymore. The humor still there a little bits but it seems forced now. Hell I still not finish season 7 maybe I'm wrong 🤐
