National Doctors' Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, Mahatma Gandhi's personal physician. He served in many capacities, as a Governor of Uttar Pradesh, as the second Prime Minister of erstwhile Bengal Province, as the first Chief Minister of Bengal, however, he never gave up his practice. He had also turned his home into a nursing home. He was later awarded the most prestigious civilian award, Bharat Ratna, a year before his death in 1961. Watch this video for more details.

Saurabh Trivedi ji ko 1 can rasgulla from WB. Bidhan Chandra Roy was and will be a legend. The club house at Eden Gardens House is named after him, also Bidhannagar a place in Kolkata is named after him, he was an avid sports lover the Maidan Sports market in Kolkata is named after Bidhan Roy and is known as Bidhan Roy Market.

He build the most planned city in Kolkata( Salt lake ), made sure the first IIT comes to West Bengal. Build 3 cities, Durgapur, Kalyani, SL.
