Proraso is the Godfather.
Proraso is really a great brand, made near my town, Florence (te factory is in a small village called "Caldine" between Florence and Fiesole)
I love the white line!
Mediocre
Love the Proraso Green, the smell and richness of the latter make you look forward to shave every morning.
The proraso green shave package with the pre shave balm, shave soap and after shave is incredibl. It's the most invigorating shave I've ever had. The only way l can describe it is like having the wasabi sensation on your skin instead of your mouth. Paired up with your Rex shaver it's a match made in heaven.
Being a grocery brand in Italy is like the highest seal of quality you can get.
It is the quality and price that makes it so attractive.
@@Art-is-craftPrice maybe... medico quality
@@sterlingcampbell2116
There is not much better at the price.
@@Art-is-craft Except Speick, Palmolive, Coutu, Ach Brito, Arko and a dozen other
Great video Matt! Your enthusiasm for the Proraso product line, and wet shaving in general is just infectious! Earlier today I shaved using the Proraso White soap and it is ridiculously good!
Used Proraso the first time yesterday, great product, love the Sandalwood scent of the red. Also used the preshave and after shave balm.
Tried many brands and always come back to Proraso. Great products and great value.
I absolutely love this video. While I do have a ton of the artisanal soaps and aftershaves/splashes, I ALWAYS find myself coming back to Proraso and would not mind ONE BIT if I only had this to use for the rest of my life.
Absolutely good products. An old but trusty brand. Pre-shave cream, soap, foam, after shave balm and lotion: thumbs up for all of them!!!
Proraso, edwin Jagger de 89 and astra blades. All super popular and for good reason
Women like this scent so much.
Great video and display and I must say, your description of these products are right on point!
I love Italian shaving products my favoured are Proraso, TFS, Cella and Omega brushes.
I've been shaving wrong all my life.Just started using a safety razor with a pre-shave balm & lather bowl, all Proraso of course...I actually enjoy shaving now.not a chore anymore.
Finally got to Try the Proraso Red. Great Soap
Thanks for the video, Matt. As an Italian wet shaver, I really love Proraso's range of products and I can confirm that is widely available and at a good price (approx. $ 2 for a cream/soap). Of course, Proraso Green in tube my first shaving cream, too!
Lucky bastard's, I paid the equivalent of almost 6 € for a tube yesterday.
@@placeholdername0000 Still holds true, adjusted for inflation ;-) you can find proraso's products in every shop for the low
No joke dude...I have a pre sha e container thats identical to the one in your vid that says 50s. Found it in the wall of a house I was renovating. Never knew what era it was from until now. What a rush.
Thanks for the review on Proraso. I had never used it before. I just received the Proraso Vintage Toccasana Tin Gift Set. I love the Proraso shaving cream. This Proraso Vintage Toccasana Tin Gift Set tin has their "Pre-shave" treatment -- it really helps quite a bit on my neck's sensitive spots -- "Shaving cream", and "Aftershave balm". This variety's is a nice and mild apple with a lime scent is really refreshing, and brisk. When I bought the Gift Set tin, the total price was less than the combined cost of all the contents purchased separately!
Love their products was one of my first to try and I still use it today.
I have moved from TOBS sensitive product line to the white Proraso line, great shave and no irritation with the balm.
Wonderful Proraso!!!
Thanks, Matt! I have the Green, White, and Blue except no pre-shave of the green and white. They're excellent and I'm especially a huge fan of the Blue.
The Pre Shave cream is a god send. It’s great on Bald heads. Stops razor bumps
After sampling several different fancy artisan soaps for a few years, I ultimately went back to Proraso as my primary go-to shaving soap. It's a good-quality soap sold at a fair price, and you can conveniently find it at most pharmacies and supermarkets here in Canada. Gimmicky soaps don't give you a better shave; practicing your technique does.
A friend of mine recently convinced me to transition to using a safety razor. He also introduced me Proraso which is the first shaving soap/cream i used. I have other products as well but i absolutely love using proraso.
At the gym i go to, was leaving the locker room and seen like 3 guys shaving in the sink area. Literally, all three of them were using proraso products.
You can rest assure, every one of my uncles and grandfather in Italy had a jar of Proraso Green and a boar brush in their bathrooms. Only a few had Cella.
I love Proraso! This will be my go to shaving material. Thank you Matt!
if I could only use one Product for the rest of my life, it would definetly be Proraso....hard to beat
It’s just overpriced here in the states. You can get it for just several euros in Italy.
@@stanleycoop7204 I buy it on sale on some stores. Won't say then I won't have any product. But it's right there on the best of the best.
Yes, agree:)
Also agree
@@stanleycoop7204 true it is really cheap in Greece too. It is a great product for the price (approx 3€). That being said I believe at 10 bucks it would be overpriced.
Thanks Matt, that was awesome!! I started wet shaving in January and admittedly I have not tried any Proraso yet but now I'm sold and I'll have to run out and get some before my next shave!!!
Yes here in Italy we use a lot Proraso
I started out 2 years ago using all Proraso products. I still use the green, red, and white cream in rotation…along with occasional TOBS Sandlewood. That’s it….no plans to venture out with more expensive exotic soaps. I have changed my pre-shave and post shave balm. I’m using the Ice Cube 2.0 (blue with menthol) from PAA for my pre-shave. One of these cubes will last a long, long time…so the economics are better and so is the performance. I’m using Nivea post shave balm now after reading countless great reviews on it….and it’s economical as hell and works great. It’s taken some product testing….but this is the combo that I’m using daily. Everyone has their favorites though. This is what makes our hobby so much fun. SHAVE ON….GUYS.
TOBS is as good as you can get. Proraso is a fantastic every day shave.
I enjoy Italian shaving Products also colognes , I'll put Proraso products on my list to try out . Thanks for that short clip Matt
Wait…, you STARTED out wet shaving with “Proraso?” 😳😱
Why, son, that’s like going from “Bud Light” straight to overproof, uncut rye whiskey! Yee-haw! 😳🤠😀
Seriously, I LOVE “Proraso (green),” but even I recognize it can be a bit INTENSE for the uninitiated.
It’s a product line I would have people build up to, unless, of course, you guys in Arizona are more macho than the REST of us! 😉😆
I just ordered a set of this with the preshave, shave cream and after shave. Ordered the green set. First time using it. Looking forward to it.
My favorite brand ! Red and white Proraso! I sometimes go into the bathroom, just to open a soap to take a nose of the fine fragrance.
Just ordered the Proraso Red Shave Cream in a tube. Can hardly wait to try it.
Love proraso, another great video Matt!
I'm well behind the curve with wet shaving! Lol Just started maybe a half year ago, and looking into Proraso as the go-to, so this was a nice "promotional" video to get me leaning towards Proraso. Thanks!
Started using Proraso products by default and then by choice. My pharmacy was out of Wilkinson shave soap in a bowl so I bought the shaving cream( green) in the tube. Great stuff!! The green aftershave is great as well. I alternate between the Proraso and Williams shave mug soap. Great vids, keep em coming 👍🏻.
I received the green shave cream in my starter kit and I ordered the green pre-shave and post shave balm. I got the Edwin Jagger DE89 and did my first safety razor shave tonight. My only issue is that it you have to make sure you use enough water in your lather mix with the green cream or it dries VERY quickly. But, I added a little water to my second pass and it was fine. I enjoyed the green pre-shave, shaving cream, and post-shave balm. Very enjoyable and relaxing after a long day at work!
Hi
Nice video
I use Proraso since many years and the products are fantastic.
I prefer the white and red line most. Love the red AS splash, so hydrating and soothing for my skin.
The green line smells to much Eucalyptus/Menthol for my taste.
The very first soap recommended to me was Proraso green, and it and red are still in my top 5! I also love the Proraso green preshave.
I’m excited to receive my proraso red set. Also love the seiko watch! I also have several!
We'll done Matt.. on a recent trip to Coeur d Alene, Idaho, I went to an antique shop and found s nice Gillette Super Speed with a grayish blue steel handle.. nice condition too.. I also later went back and snagged a Parker 22r in very good condition. I'm new to this world but I will be coming to your web store for another treasure and some Proraso! Many thanks! Daily life can be challenging and it sure is nice to have a small pleasure to look forward to!
Frank from Boulder, Colorado
Started out DE Shaving with a Viking Vulcan, Proraso Menthol, Gillette Platinum Plus blades and a Badger Shave Brush.
This Proraso is wonderful, I'll be getting one of the sets because the products are so well made.
Bravissimo Bello!
I have been using the white for almost two years and it's amazing.
Got into wet shaving fairly recently and first used Gillette shave gel and it was meh but better than cartridge shaving, then I got my first set of Proraso products and the difference is incredible! The shave was so easy and afterwards my skin barely knows I’ve had a shave!
I'm currently using the Proraso Green Pre Shave. I like it! And for the record, it does NOT smell like Italy - Italy smells like Garlic!
I dont know why u in the US think in Italy we use a lot of garlic. That is an Italian american thing probably...actually we dont use garlic in italy
Bought my first proraso green kit the other day. Really nice products for shaving with a straight razor. Very good price too.
Been seeing proraso everywhere recently and switched from Carthage shaving about 3 weeks ago. Just ordered the green line aftershave menthol. If all is good I'll likely be grabbing myself one of those tins with the whole bundle!
Very useful and informative, thank you!
Proraso also makes the C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream at Bath & Body Works, I like getting their smaller size for travel for $5, it also lathers well without a brush when on the road.
Just ordered the travel/sample Proraso White pack. Been doing the 'cold water' shave like you've suggested so many times, and you were right about that. Figured i'd follow your lead on this too. :)
I started off with the Red Sandlewood Soap and pre shave and now I’m on the Blue Aloe and vitamin E preshave. I also got a tube of the sandalwood and the menthol
Great video , my favorite soap
Proraso soap in a bowl is 14$ in australia
This was very helpful. I was interested in this as a gift, but wasn't sure whether it was authentically old-school Italian, or just an imitator. Super informative video.Thank you!
Another nice Proraso scent is Wood and Spice, I have the Pre-Shave Cream (Jar), Shave Cream (Tube) and Post-Shave Balm (Bottle), there's also an optional Post-Shave Cologne (bottle), the Wood & Spice theme container colour is yellow-brown.
Definitely an awesome product
when I say ive gone back to the safety razor the reaction is disbelief
Could not agree more. I use the Green line pre shave and soap but use Stirling aftershave and aftershave balm in the Eucalyptus Mint and it is absolutely fantastic. I have super sensitive skin, use an Astra with a Mercur 34C and have zero issue. I firmly believe the pre shave is the winning ticket!
I love proraso white the soap makes your shave smooth I need the balm and preshave
The Proraso Green Repair Gel is good for cuts.
Thanks Matt.
Best shave I've ever had so far tonight: Omega 10005 boar brush, Merkur 23C razor, Proraso White pre shave, Proraso Green shaving soap and Astra Superior Platinum blade. I love Proraso Green! Waiting for my Gillette 7 o'clock (green) super stainless blades to arrive for comparison.
I love the red . I also like the white .
I love their products.
I found proraso green and white soap today at my tj Max with both preshaves for 5 dollars each!
Need to test the Proraso white line with my straight razor - having pretty sensitive ski tho...
Hey Matt, great videos, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Quick question. What would you recommend/prefer between shave-soap or shave-cream, are there any benefits from either one or the other, or just a preference for the individual.
thanks.
Cliff
A very solid shaving soap.
I bought a tube of Proraso Red Shaving Cream and used it for the first time. Oh my god - this stuff is amazing. Measured out 1/ 2 tsp into a shaving bowl to make enough lather for a 3 pass shave.
Lathers up ridiculously easy and provides a nice cushion.
Price is crazy low when compared to its ease of use and performance. So happy I tried this product.
The after shave is great as well. You have try the green after shave lotion it is amazing.
have u ever used van der hagen shaving soap? Love that stuff!
I have red, green, and now blue.
first soap I bought was van der hagen luxury
Quik note : In Italian language single S between two valves become Z. So the corect way to pronounce is "proraZo"
Hey guys. How does Proraso perform with a straight razor? I LOVE Proraso green with a DE razor but I want to make sure the performance is the same!
I like it
simply the BEST.
Just bought the green set a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! Bye-bye Barbasol! 🇮🇹
I’ve recently started using the proraso white pre shave cream and the white shave cream and what can I say it is fantastic stuff easy to use very reasonably priced lasts a long time too
Is the white line really good for sensitive skin?
@@azkuits made for sensitive skin and yes it suits my sensitive skin
@@tonygloster8829 I've got the while line. We'll see how it goes.
Got alot of proraso products only the white line i dont have. Also the beard products are spot on. Love this brand. And i will stay at this brand.
I prefer higher-end shaving cremes like Taylor of bond street but this is a good price for what you get. The white line I like. blue and red i haven't tried
Hi Matt. I have seen the sets in the cardboard boxes on your website, but are you carrying the tins as well? I like the look of those old adverts.
The white and green tins are available on our site!
I looooooooove Proraso i think i own every product available in the store i buy them i found a Yellow shaving foam yes foam tsk tsk...i dont think its made as cream or soap or stick yet it smells like Cacao
In my country the shaving cream 100 ml îs 4-5 dollars and 500 ml -10 dollars...
That green (eucalyptus and menthol) IMO gets old fast. Reminds me of Noxzema. It does NOT smell like Italy. LOL. The red, sandalwood and shea butter is a superior product. If you're starting out with Proraso go with red or white (has practically no odour for sensitive skin). You can detect a quasi licorice fragrance with the blue, which is aloe vera and vitamin E.
The green is designed to be used with the green splash after shave. It is really refreshing on the skin.
hey new to wet shaving. what kind of gillette razors are behind you
Bath and Body Works sells C.O. Bigelow in a tube for $10! That was my start in wet shaving, and I still like it.
It's a really good one too. I like it also.
Say Mat. I make razors and shave care. I would love to get some feedback from you on what you think of what I make. How do I get a few products into your hands?
do you have any particular one to recommend for someone with allergies to scented products in many cases? Unfortunately the white line has green tea scent, and shocking is none of the stuff is safety sealed by this company that I have seen... why is that?
Hi. It's amazing soap to use also with electric shavers. Apply a little on you fingers or you brush and massage it on your beard, wait 2-3 minutes and then shave. Its wonderful. Recommended not to lather too much soap with electric shavers. At the end clean your face well with cold water. Wait 5 minutes an then apply the after shave. After couple of wet electric shavings your skin will be regular. That's the secret to prevent burns. Recommended for diplomats businessmen and actors and stars. And you will have your pure colour of the skin.
Grate video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Here in Italy a tube of cream costs 2€ lol
It's not Porasso. It's Pro raso. Pronounced Pro razo.
Aiuta chi si rade! ^^ (helps who's shaving)
Great video and a great range, although personally I never found the pre-shave to be worth the extra effort. But that's just me.
Нормальный такой обзорчик !
I like proraso but i Stop buying It because it leaves residue after shaving you need to used a lot of water to remove that and it will be in your brush, razor, sink, bowl and face so... The should fix that (i use green)
is the first 'R' silent?
Lol
