I love how they all look so nervous until he says "it will kill" like they didn't just watch him chop the carcass in half.
Gotta be thorough you know, just in case it was only a flesh wound.
Somehow I got addicted to Forged in Fire through a kill test in UA-cam.
Missed me? Dude same
didnt we all
**Keel*
So did I
me too m8
You know what I love about this show? The sportsmanship. The competitors are very very supportive of each other and they wish each other well throughout the entire episode/clips. It gives it a positive vibes.
I’ve found I’m addicted to these clips now
Same
me to
SAAAAMME
Addicted to the keel
And its will KEEL
What I love with these people is their sportsmanship, either they win or didn't they always compliment the craft of their rivals.
1:36 the face of Marcaida when your slash will not keel.
Disgusted lmaoo
Rising Play the guys edge alignment was off, not the weapons fault
@@Aron-ru5zk well if the reason for edge alignment is weapon not being balanced and shaft being hard to hold, its a weapons fault. He had no problems with strikes on first weapon.
Scarletmoon he had a combination of bad edge alignment and striking the spine. That is the problem with doing a swing like that from the back, you have a very high chance of hitting the vertebrae rather than the flesh. Even with a better alignment you aren’t really going to cut through a spine.
Ight but can we talk about how the tester knows his weapons? He handled that glaive exactly how it is used in history.
no point in having someone judge them if they don’t know anything about the weapons. it makes sense. not much to talk about there.
Doug is a kali guro, he knows what he's doing
is no one going to talk about how both contestants did the "anime character pushing glasses up the bridge of their nose" thing at almost the exact same time at 3:11 ?
How to explain forged in fire ? It's like masterchef but with respectful judges and much more awesomeness.
Rad. I've always loved glaives. (For some reason auto-correct wanted to change "glaives" to "laxatives." Big difference... I would seriously NOT want to use a glaive as a laxative!)
Well, if you see someone coming at you with a glaive, you'll certainly feel like you've had a laxative!
Glaives are the coolest looking weapons
Overall, your weapon sir,
WEEEL KEEEL!!!🗡️
So funny
The way pike combat is done would make it near impossible to cut the heads off. The moment you get in range to make a powerful swipe in an awkward position(overhead or in a cluster of bodies) another pikeman is going to see you and stick you.
1:30 Doug's face when he sees it didnt cut through and it didnt KELL enough lmao
Take a shot everytime Doug says "lacerate".
1:34 thats your edge alignment, how about getting someone whos trained
Skaf14 I was hoping for someone who noticed, most of these experts are self proclaimed anyways, guy probably never handled a glaive in his life before. Looked ridiculous when he addressed and swung as well...
I see people say a lot that its edge alignment virtually every time a weapon doesnt cut cleanly, and to an extent I agree, since Doug and his martial art are more focused on knives than anything else.
But, there have been occasions where it was definitely the weapon. This one looked like it could have been the weapon, because he did say that it was really heavy and hard to control. It is still edge alignment, but it might not just be lack of training. Indexing can be hard if your weapon is too light or too heavy, it wont always go where you expect it to.
That being said, again, Doug is definitely not trained for polearms or large weapons, so I would assume that the people hes trained probably arent either. It still hurts me to watch him fail at cutting a pig with a claymore when Dave sliced so cleanly through sugar cane. Im pretty sure if Dave had done that kill test, that sword wouldnt have bowed like that.
Staniel Das Boot that’s the right balanced approach, we can’t blame it all on the man that conducts the test, but it would certainly be better if they invited people who have more specialised experience in blades smithing and using.
A well designed weapon makes edge alignment easy.
His handle was complete garbage...hence why edge alignment was a problem.
Use your brain for 5 seconds.
@@stanieldasboot953 actually it's not Doug testing the weapon if you look closely
Nick is putting out Doofinshmurts evil incorporated vibes. Seriously they could be twins.
"I call it my, pointy stick-anator"
Imagine coming back from hunting with two halves of a deer
1:35 the face my dad made when I got a B instead of an A for my test
2:15 that was smooth af 😂
Glaive Master Hodir is easily the best boss of the game. 10/10
2:19 me when the teacher throws in a "fun fact" during class
1:34 poor edge alignment.
Yup, scrolled down to see if anyone else noticed that!
The only time I’m thankful for UA-cam adding these to my recommendations 😂 I’ve watched so much and never heard of this show before
Just realized Doug has a mini karambit near his belt
Where? What time?
@@benjaminamezquita3112 at 0:06
0:21 am I the only one concerned about the "I'm hopping this is the only big animal i have to deal with today" followed by a maniatic death look?
I love how nice these two are with each other.
1:34 its the users fault not the smith’s ..
Why do you say that? What was wrong with the slash?
@@fenrir_Lokison9 to me it looked like the blade was angled down when it hit, but that could be due to the 'large handle' most weapons come down to preference. That's why there are so many different types of sword that are just 'long swords' if you get me.
@@TheEthanEdge in the clip it shows that the edge was already off when he switched position
@@fenrir_Lokison9 poor edge alignment
Benjamin Kitanović that’s what I thought dude
Doug and the boys roughhousing with some blades
*n i c e*
Why did the creepy guy with glasses say “I hope this is the only big dead animal I have to deal with today.”
@@timgun2178 He is a vegan, they are all creepy I instantly wanted him to lose. lol
Probably talking about the woman he had drugged and tied up back in his hotel room. Worried he might have dosed her a little too much.
Probably finds carcasses creepy and hopes he doesnt have to look at another one in future tests.
Ps. The other replies are jokes 😂
@@artonline01 Tbh I feel like the stereotypical "vegan eagerness" is a response to all the hate they get from non-vegans for no reason. Like why tf should we care if someone eats meat or not,
@@pythonking16.59 because they often shame people for not being vegan.
Genuine question, does having a wide handle make it harder to have good edge alignment? I feel like with a handle like that it should be easier to feel the angle in which you're blade is facing.
it mostly needs to be a happy compromise between thick and thin, you want the shaft to be thick enough to be able to take more abuse, but if the shaft is to thick you wont be able properly wrap your hand around it, so you also want it to be thin enough so that your thumb should just be able to cover over the very tips of you fingers, giving you optimal grip without jeopardizing the integrity of the shaft itself
Manipulation is a big part of the issue. If the blade becomes unaligned, the thickness of the handle makes manipulating it back into place more difficult without releasing the weapon to adjust.
A handle should fit snugly in your hand so your thumb and fingertips touch, in my experience.
I am all for Polearms and the Glaive is one i like quite a bit.
I swear, the civility and respect in every episode of this show is the only thing that gives me hope for humanity.
You know what I'd like to see? A Tetsubo. I'd LOVE to see how they come up with that one.
Help! I can't stop watching these clips!
What a cool group of guys and great sportsmanship. Judges and contestants.
The guys are never nice with the weapons.
but it will keel
Exactly ! They should have trained people that know how to use the weapons better
@@udonrich9712 The people who used these weapons historically, especially pole arms, weren't usually the most well-trained. If the weapon can't stand up to human error, then it isn't a weapon fit to win.
When were soldiers nice w weapons lol?
It's a weapon? They're not meant to be kissed and tucked in to bed
the important this is, "It will Kieal"
Use Haki on it, that will make it more deadly
Im not sure which is better... "It will Keeeel" or "It Lacerated deeply"
dEEEply
1:35 that face right there kills me 🤣
The disappointment
it will barely KEEL
the way doug leans his head forward to say "will keel" :D
Love this show! Those hosts do an amazing job!!!!
0:10 "Thrusts and slashes against this deer carcass"
poetry
That type of strength test is much better than hitting against a giant bolt.
no one:
Doug: your weapon has a good twust
ITS SHARP
ITS LIGHT
ITS IS EEEASYL TO MOVE AROUND
BUT MOST IMPORTANT IT WILL KEEEEELLLLL😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤣🤣🤣
GREAT SHOW
Edward Newgate would be proud
"That creepy guy" would make a good serial killer or a nerd for a movie.
That guy on the left looks like that guy that always played the role of the nasally nerd with glasses in the 90s
Finally the show has my favorite weapon ever on here
You can see in the slow-mo shot as soon as he hit any resistance, the tester twisted his wrist so bad his face shook, slapping the deer with the side of the blade. No follow through. Thought his right knee was going to give out.
I'm addicted to the "your weapon will kill" ‘‚:)
I sharpen my pencil and say... This will keel
So does John Wick
Funny how these clips are helping me grieve, mental
“It will kill” so will a rock if you hit someone over the head with!
It’s obvious but if a blade isn’t sharp enough and doesn’t have a good tip it won’t kill
It’s about the blades construction that makes it able to kill
Bruno da Silva this comment absolutely enraged me from your stupidity
God gave you a brain that you should learn how to use
Big Chungus 2275 lol 😂 loved your comment
I still think that a butter knife or a 4x4 piece of wood could also kill though.
Legendary pump: it will keel
Inaccurate
_Just noticed they pre cut the animals and remove all the guts and everything_
I watched this video for one reason only...to hear Doug say"...it will Keel." If it wasn't for Doug's now icon words and style, this show would only be ½ as interesting! Its also the way he says it...it has serious intention...I think he should be tagged by the FBI just in case!😄
This show basically seems like less of a competition and more of a "lets see what we can build that looks cool"
But will it cut?
I'm always anticipating for that guy to say KEEL😂
I wanna see somebody disagreeing to give up the weapon
It will
KEEL
Is t just me who only watches for dug to see if it will keel
Doug "edge alignment" Mercaida strikes again!
Doug marcida be like - i present to you by clone minion to do the keeeeell test for me.😂😂
WHY YOU gotta do Da Dear Like Dat?! XD man I love spears lol
Spears are cool, but because of the bladed part I think this is a polearm.
1:36 when the waiter stops by but you got food in your mouth
I wonder if one of these smiths would be able to make a dragon slayer sword spear from dark souls
Closest round yet these guys should have a rematch
Anyone ever stood on a lego ?
“It will keel”
This show is real, my name is Neal, but most importantly it weel keel
I cut the top of my hand off when a broken piece of glass from a window lacerated it.
I was at the ER in less than 30 minutes, lost 1 pint of blood and my blood pressure got dangerously low.
I imagine taking a direct hit or slash will kill you in 10 minutes with out medical attention.
Your body is a blood bag.
Thai guy sure does get a lot of awkward joy out of saying "It will Kill" lol. I wonder what he does when he is alone at home for the weekend...
when you learn a new word in the dictionary and use it in every sentence. LACERATE
I love how I’ve never seen a contestant make excuses or blame the judges, or talk smack, etc... they just agree with the judges, accept the outcome, and become better for it! That’s how real men and women are to be, not this whiney and crying you see on other shows.
I really think that this show doesnt invent drama like other shows do. Theyre here to show the weapons, not the interpersonal drama. I love it when the smiths work together during the knife making, it actually feels like a real competition, as opposed to "stab everyone in the back while I have the chance" like other shows.
@@stanieldasboot953 in this show they have many other things to stab other than their competitor's back
This is so cool!
Am i the only one who really enjoys watching this guy say "your blade will kill"
The way he says "will kill" makes my day
the guisarm is prolly one of my favorit polearm.

Who else is addicted to watching these episodes?
Can we all just agree that Doug Marcaida has the coolest job in the world?
dude got traumatised by the deer 😂
1:41 turns out Doug has an identical twin
It's his younger brother. Doug is still recovering from his torn rotator cuff.
no deer is harmed while filming this episode.
