Sony Corporation is a Japanese multinational conglomerate headquartered in Kōnan, Minato, Tokyo. They are a major Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics. And, according to Sony’s company story, they have also worked in the fields of films, music, and financial services, among others.
The company was founded in 1946 by Ibuka Masaru and Morita Akio as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo - Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering Corporation. Before they met, Ibuka’s Japan Precision Instrument Company supplied electronic equipment during World War II, while Morita was an applied science instructor.
They met during World War II as engineers designing heat-seeking missiles for the Imperial Japanese Army. For the next 4 years, Ibuka and Morita continued to work together in one of "business history’s most productive and intriguing relationships".
Ibuka's mastermind in product development, coupled with Morita's knack for business management and marketing, made Sony one of the best-known brands in the world. Sony became the company's official name in January 1958. It was derived from the Latin Sonus, meaning sound, and was considered as an international term, not just a Japanese one.
The electric rice cooker was the company's first consumer product.
Although this product was not selling well, Totsuko, as the company name was then abbreviated, had good business repairing radios and other electrical appliances. Since their repair job for the Japanese radio station NHK had to be approved by the US occupation army, it gave the growing company its repair jobs.
In 1950, Totsuko unveiled the first tape recorder designed in Japan. Although this consumer good also didn’t record good sales, the company's fortunes were on the verge of an interesting turnaround. In 1952, Ibuka visited the USA and made their first contact for the transistor license from Bell Laboratories. Then, it was a division of the Western Electric Company, the production branch of American Telephone & Telegraph (AT&T). The following year, Morita went to the United States and signed the agreement with Western Electric.
This crucial agreement resulted in Totsuko's first very successful line of products - the transistor radios. Though Texas Instruments Incorporated first introduced its Regency transistor radio in 1955, Sony's TR-63, an affordable shirt-sized transistor radio; stole the hearts of consumers when it launched in 1957. Sony pocket radios were a great success and encouraged international brand awareness to the company.

Same here. I've own so many Sony Products from the Walkman and the original playstation and Bravia TVs. Now recently I bought the Sony A7IV. Well worth it.

Before, when you saw or heard the word Sony, it meant something special, something different from everything else, something much more powerful and advanced in the electronics division than anything that existed at the time.
In terms of innovations and technologies, they advanced and evolved day by day, and no one could reach their performance for many years.
From the 1980s until the 2000s, they were the best electronics developers in the world, demonstrated and confirmed.
Especially during the 90s, they managed to easily lead any competitors, thanks to their very advanced technologies and quickly applied to their electronic devices.
In the Audio Video platform, they had a very diverse range of products, and all of them extremely high-performance, from which you could choose.
But after the year 2000, Sony did not evolve the same as before. Although they were still developing new technologies, they were slow to introduce them quickly to the market. At the same time, the competition took advantage of this opportunity and applied their new technologies to the market before as Sony to do it, which made Sony to be surpassed by the competition.

But now Sony no longer produces Smartphones, only the camera phones, because otherwise, nothing is smart, but everything is the same, ordinary, which no longer impresses anyone, and this will lead to their disappearance from the market
Thanks for making this video. I heard that Steve Jobs wanted Apple to operate like Sony and Issey Miyake ( Japanese clothing designer ). The signature black turtle neck that Jobs wore all the time was designed by Issey Miyake and he had about a dozen of them. I think Jobs wanted Miyake to design a company uniform for apple, but ttat idea fell through.

Today Sony has announced that everything in my room will be replaced with a Sony product. Me no longer own anything that isn’t part of Sony, except for the TV’s monitors and phones. They Could have released More phones at earlier days but they didn't.
.......Sony products experience I have is ridiculous, I'm still not yet get my speaker until today after more than 30days I sent it in under warranty in Sony Malaysia.
The unit I bought HT-RT40 under Sony one year warranty and the Sony service centre is informed me that they can't fix the speaker due to the model parts being discontinued. But when I do go shopping or search online I still see the HT-RT40 stock ready in the market. So I don't think the discontinued parts are not acceptable excuses.
I'm here to reject the sony buy pack programme with the price of RM969.00 with the terms of 2-4weeks pays to my account.
At the same time, I also rejected your previous proposal of a replacement model of HT-S20R(the value are cheaper estimated at RM400 than the current model I bought for my HT-RT40). Sony is a reputable brand and good quality? You judge yourself.
