No, I don't have the new dvr update
I have it and I can't stand the new interface. It's harder to find the current recorded shows. I want the new in my library back.
@@shrubs2k2 I can’t find stuff in the older version. Doesn’t sound like the newer version is any better. I don’t even bother with it anymore. I find out which streaming service (Hulu, Paramount, Peacock) carries the show and add it so it appears in my Apple TV when new episodes are available.
@michaelsaves do you have any updated content on this subject? I just recently 7 months later got the update. But since then in July I saw articles from Toms Guide and Cordcutters that Google heard the complaints and rolled it back. Are these articles bunk? I am in a customer service abyss with them ignoring pretty much what I say. Did this noise just quiet or am I the only one they forgot to walk back this undesirable update on?
Something I feel all Live TV streaming services needs to add to the DVR ability to adjust the Record Time to Start Recording early or increase end time up to 3 hours. like what normal Cable offered Subscribers.
I would be perfectly happy if they would just allow you to record/delete single episodes and seasons of programs, and single games or seasons for your team or teams.
That would allow you unclutter your library.
I'm perfectly satisfied with the rest of the features.
I don't really see the need for a complete overhaul.
Yes, YEs, and YES! I can't understand why these options aren't standard with ANY streaming platform that offers DVR functionality. It's the thing I'll miss most about DirecTV.
This the one and only reason I still have DirecTV and don't use UA-cam. Give me the same record new shows only, remove episode from my playlist, and record single episode and I'll sign up immediately.
I'm not having any trouble with my dvr when I find my shows l'm loving the new dvr settings
One other thing they need to fix is when you are watching a recording and you fall asleep and that recording is over with it starts playing another program That's not even in your library giving a show you don't watch the ratings they should fix it when you are through watching your show it stops if you're awake or asleep it should stop not continue playing other programs
I like the ALL tab on the newer one. The filters are good but I usually just prefer to see all my recordings on one screen. The ability to rearrange the tabs in the order you like would be great!

Thanks Michael for all you do for us UA-cam TV subscribers. Totally agree on prior "New in your library" being so much better. Also, when is UA-cam TV going to wake up and allow us to delete or record a single show or episode. Seems pretty simple fix....
I HATE the new library! I don't know what is new? It tell me I have 1 new and I already watched it. It's AWEFUL!!!
I really do like the new version. Definitely confusing at first. Once I was used you it, I found it easier.

Hi, thanks Michael for your videos and sharing your firsthand knowledge of how the premiere streaming services actually work. I think I'm leaning towards UA-cam TV as it seems would give us more channels than Hulu, and certain channels that we definitely watch a lot. I think Sling Orange+Blue actually would give us more of the cable channels if I checked their website correctly, and some channels that I believe YTTV and Hulu don't.. But I think Sling seems would be more complicated if we want to be able to record anything on the OTA antenna channels, as I believe it would require us to get an additional device from them called "AirTV 2"..? But I like knowing that Sling's DVR allows recording individual episodes of a tv series.., unlike YTTV at present. I'm still trying to figure all this out, so I'm still referring to yours and others' videos.
But one question I have though is, if these premiere streaming services know how the basic features are presented with the big cable companies - how the channel guides typically look, how the dvr features typically work, how you can pause/rewind live tv programs, etc - then WHY haven't these streaming services YTTV, Hulu, Sling simply made more effort to replicate how these basic features function, instead of each of them trying to "reinvent the wheel"...?
I'm not sure. I think UA-cam TV and Hulu Live began trying to not be like cable. In fact, Hulu Live launched without a live guide but people complained. As for Sling, yes the AirTV 2 would let you record OTA channels and see them in your Sling guide. There's also Tablo, which lets you record antenna channels. It doesn't integrate into the Sling guide. I have a Tablo and have been meaning to do a video about how it works.

I received the new update several days ago. All the content is there, it's just a matter of getting used to the new layout. However, I find the former layout is more pleasing to the eyes. They should have provided us a choice.

I stumbled on your video while looking for why youtube tv isn't recording/ displaying ABC world news tonight with David Muir for my mom...I have the updated version and hate it! I think your suggestions are great- another thing I dislike is when I've recorded something like Dateline and they show it again on live tv, it won't allow me to go ahead and fast forward commercials. I have to go into the library recordings of Dateline and try to find that specific show that has literally 30+ seasons. Another thing, some shows in the library don't display underneath the time. for example Nightly news with Lester Holt, yet other shows do list their time 5:30, it's just a weird thing. And while I haven't made too much effort on this part, I would really like my shows recentlly recorded in sequence of that day at minimum, preferrably in line of this recording is most recent to last. I also don't necessarily want shows that have already been recorded to in the recently recorded list, but if it's going to be, it would be cool to flag it or say it's rerun of the rerun you've recorded and also watched...one more thing, I wish they had a easy senior citizens how to guide. I am constantly walking my mom through using the arrow back button, use the outer circle as your curser etc. even though i copied, pasted and printed out a guide myself, she's lost it and it's too much work for me to do it again. If you have the program added to your DVR, you can skip ads in most cases. On demand content that’s not added to your library will have ads.
If you're watching a video or movie how do you pause and in a day or two go back to where you paused the viewing? It seems I only have the option is to start over and fast forward to where I think I was??

There isn’t a way to do that, but you’re not the first to ask!
Here's another problem I have noticed with the DVR. HD recorded content doesn't look as good as the live content. What I mean is that DVR playback is not the same format as live TV format which is 1080I? I've also noticed that during playback sometimes the format changes from HD to SD then back to HD?
I don't have the update and what they have now to me is near useless. Often I will wait until a series has four or five new shows recorded so I can binge watch especially if they're 30 minutes shows. As it is now, I literally need to search for my show to find it because of all the other nonsense that it throws in front of me that I actually never watch. I think there's a thing called DVR gluttony and I'm certainly guilty of that; Example one of the 24-hour news stations I record everything in case I suddenly am interested in something that's going on and they can rewind it to the beginning.
I definitely use the UA-cam TV search bar more than other apps
@@MichaelSaves .. Under my login I literally watch less than five shows and they're never in the top of my DVR ever. Spectacular AI...

One reason I’m not getting it and sticking with our DirectTV but cheaper package.
My only complaint is you can't have it record "new shows" only. Really aggravating that it records shows I've seen years ago.
I do have the new Rolón. As with many others, I don’t like it. It’s cumbersome and has many problems navigating to find what I want on the DVR.
I have the new version and I hate it. I liked the old way better. In the old version I could alphabetize my library. I really miss this feature. It made it much easier to find what I was looking for.
I also hate it. Why change now. We are use to the old. Very disappointed !!!!!

We’re new to UA-cam TV…so the menus aren’t different for us, BUT our biggest issue is that when I record something in the morning, and want to watch it that afternoon it’s not there??? Not sure how long you have to wait to watch recordings, but that could be a deal-breaker for us. This will be a REAL ISSUE when football season comes in the fall.
For me, not having the option to record a single program for something is bad. When I had satellite, and I wanted to record something from this specific program, it asked, record once, record new episodes or record all episodes. Just think of sports, what if they have to switch to another channel, because their either running out of time or, like NASCAR, needs to switch to another channel, like satellite, I could just record the program once, then toggle how long I want to record that race. Give me some options. I hate how I have to find the specific episode of a show, that the race came on. It’s so weird, and it’s like that on Sling too. I just don’t get it.
Would be nice if it actually recorded what you set up to record. It misses , F1 qualifying for example, and if it does record it is not in my library. It is waaay less user friendly and makes me look at alternative providers.
I've noticed the last couple of weeks that at least 1 minute is cut off on recorded episodes. This never happened before. Is there a way to extend recordings by 1 minute?

My wife says some new recordings don't show up in our library. That's a bummer. For example, she records new episodes of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country on Saturday morning to watch later, but they're not in there. Maybe it's because it's set to only record new episodes? I don't know. Thoughts?

@@MichaelSaves Thanks for your reply. The most recent episodes that recorded are two months ago. The show was on today but didn’t record/ save to library. I saw some threads on Reddit where people say they’re experiencing random instances of shows set to save not saving. UA-cam TV is less than 1/2 the cost of what we were paying for Directv, and we get more channels. That’s a win in my book!

The old DVR was much better
I don't know why Google struggles with this so much. They would do well to just copycat what DirectTV stream is doing with their guide and DVR. It's head and shoulders better.
I have tried to move my favorite channels to the top but it never moves all the ones I want.
UA-cam recording every episode in a series is them showing off they have the most Servers in the world of any video site
Philo also does this and you can keep them for one year too. Philo also puts the newest recordings on the top of the recording interface.
@@MrModaman Philo is inferior to UA-cam, UA-cam automatically and only records every show. Plus UA-cam DVR will record duplicates of the same show a infinite number of times.

I am going to switch to FUBO or some other streaming service if UA-cam GEN Z'ers can't keep their hands off the App. UA-cam needs to find them something constructive to do rather than screwing up the App. This latest change to the Library function is TOTALLY screwed up. I can't select something I am watching and add it to my Library for future watching. Will subscriber pressure those idiots at UA-cam to leave the damn thing alone.
I just want to know what I have recorded that I have not watched yet. This new version does not give me that. Frustrated.
I HATE the new layout...all my shows aren't in my shows section and all of my movies are completelt gone out of the movies section...what the hell were they thinking?! Might go to Hulu, im disgusted!

As for.., new in library. It's the only format ever seen here, I think 3 years. But seriously the single biggest problem is lying about being able to record to DVR!!! More than half of what's recorded..and there's no option l!!... Is VOD even though its a regular paid-for, included station and show. That's frankly FRAUD...you literally CANNOT watch something later without commercials because it's more than likely to be a VOD nstead of DVR recording. BullSh#?!!!!!!! When you try to get help --which is near impossible to find. Oh, first read s book of crap thats irrelevant, THEN they say, thanks for feedback!! Huh?!! Not here for feedback but a paid customer. Also more than half TCM fims don't record....they are listed in library but NOT there or if by miracle then they're Vod.

I will be leaving You Tube for its sports shift not its DVR. As an old geezer I liked MLB baseball through the MLB Network. It angered me that YTTV dropped MLB Network THEN raised my subscription. Less for more. My mama didn't raise no idiot. Now YTTV is pimping prison gang football otherwise known as the NFL as if I'm going to pay more for something that I have little interest in. Maybe YTTV knows and understands it demographics, but I am not part of the demographics that they are catering to. I came to YTTV from Sling TV because of two things. Lower pricing and at the time it had RSN"s in my market. In less than six months the RSN's were dropped which was alright because it least they held their pricing. All I can say is, Sling Orange with Sports Extra here I come and I'll be saving twenty a month to boot. YTTV smells like cable to me.
