Hi Alma. The Doona can definitely be taken on airplanes, but we always recommend checking with the airline beforehand (we have found that some airlines have rules, like one didn't allow rear-facing carseats on the plane!). So it is always best to check before buying a seat for your baby and the Doona. All the best!

1:01 can you put it in a car with no base ?
Hi Mina. Yes, you definitely can. Bases ensure a correct installation every time and also a fast installation. But Doona was crash tested both with and without the bases and passed both ways.
So, the baby is safe - but the older kid is standing and looking over the seat back and riding unrestrained in the moving vehicle. I am glad the Mom at least likes the baby. Seriously, Doona, do better.

Can you fit the Doona stroller in the cabin overhead compartment ? if yes, how do you do it ?
Hi Jas, thanks for writing to us. Not all airplane will have the room in the overhead compartment. Larger planes, like 747s, probably do (but then there has to be enough room that it won't take up space for other passengers' carry on bags). :)
If there *is* space leftover in the overhead compartment, all you need to do is rotate the handle so that it is behind the canopy and obviously fold down the wheels (this is the most compact the Doona can be stored).
If there isn't overhead compartment space, what we recommend is *gate checking* your Doona. And sending it under the plane in either the Travel Bag (or ideally, the Padded Travel Bag): simpleparenting.co/accessories/padded-travel-bag/
For the most part no. You can still gate check it. They will bring it up before you get off
I have the EU version, where can I find the airplane travel certificate or sticker?
Hi Igor, it says in the manual. Also, there are stickers on the sides of the Doona (underneath) that are for TUV or flying in the US.
What's the difference between US version, EU version and others (UK etc.)? Thanks.
There are currently two types of Doonas, the US Doona and the EU Doona. Each adheres to each standard's necessities. Within countries, there are even more differences (the UK has a different type of fabric because they have special requirements, while other countries need the spoken language written on it and not just English, so they have different fabric, too, since our warnings and labels are sewn onto the fabric, etc.).
The specific differences between the US and EU Doona are as follows:
- how the buckle of the harness closes
- where the car's seat belt passage attaches the Doona to the car
- the different bases (LATCH vs. ISOFIX)
- the chest clip (for the US version - chest clips are illegal by the EU standard)

@@loveanimals-0197 For short trips (meaning, not like you're relocating abroad), yes, you can use the US version of the Doona in Poland and India. Please note that we recommend to talk to the airlines if you plan on paying for a seat for the Doona to make sure that they allow rear facing car seats onboard (or that it fits on the seat, some low budget airplanes have very narrow seats that will not allow for car seats to be on).
@@doonathank you. My question was geared more towards whether it will fit on Polish and Indian car seats. (i.e. if the seat belts there would be long enough to install Doona without the base.)

How long that baby can sit in Doona car seat?
You need to periodically check on your baby to make sure everything is okay and don't leave your baby in any device, be it the Doona, a baby bouncer, carrier, etc. for too long. If you want to discuss this further with us, please email us at info@doona.com.
Can you roll it down the aisle on a plane?

Hi Аня, thanks for the comment. The Doona is not actually low. If you compare it to other poplar strollers, the seat sits where they sit, too. Compared to a car seat that is resting on top of a stroller or frame, then yes, it sits lower. But this is also due to the fact that the Doona's wheels cannot be longer than they are.

I have LOVED my Doona carseat. It has made my life so much easier. I had to replace the head support and was shocked by the $15 shipping. Replacement parts cannot be purchased anywhere else. You need to purchase $75 to get free shipping. Great I will get another product. Nothing comes to $75 unless your ordering multiple things or a big item. Customer service is non existent, unfriendly, and you cannot talk to a manager. I will not be buying any more products from them or recommending them. I am disappointed at the way I was treated and that it has tainted my Doona experience.

Dumbest car seat/ stroller ever I purchased this for my 3rd child. Have had other car seats prior this by far is the worst quality who ever built and designed should go straight to jail before a child gets killed in it. This thing is a joke DO NOT PURCHASE even if someone gifts it to you for free throw it in the trash.
