My wife’s last words before she passed away to me was you have to live in The Villages because I’m a golfer and she knew I loved to drive around in the golf cart. It’s taken me a few years to complete her wish. I’m a widower that moved to The Villages because the wife is always right.

We tried we had are house up for sale for 3 months my was now bed ridden on Monday August 30th 2010 are house sold on August 31st my wife died in my arms, I think she tried to hang around to make sure I was taken care of, she wasn’t supposed to go that soon

Living in TV’s after a spouse dies depends on your existing support system, family, current health, mobility, finances but if your happy where your living clap you hands, blessings to all.
Do teach. ALL the kids to do ALL the chores. “Chores during youth become Life Skills. Makes my heart joyfilled that you have the kids work for their money.
Here`s a phone story for you: Living in Switzerland it is quite normal to commute on the train. Several times I have ridden and not only are the people talking loud on the phone but they hold it away from their ear and I guess, Have it on speaker because then you hear the OTHER person also talking!!!!! Who wants to listen to that!

My wife is 76 and she dyes her hair red. She was a beautiful red-head when we started dating long ago and she's going to be one forever. I like the gray head look but some of my hair is not gray. I'm 80. So you both keep doing what you're doing. You are a great-looking couple.

The loud cell phone talkers, they always seem to follow me around the store, what fun.
Hi Jerry and Linda...just wanted to pass along that we have use Avon Skin So Soft Oil to combat no-se-ums and mosquitos. Just wet a wash cloth and place some oil on it. Rub it all over your skin and see the difference Avon Skin So Soft Oil can make warding off bug bits!

As an FYI Jerry, I do all the laundry, dishwashing, bathrooms, garbage duty and clean the kitchen. We live in an over 55 development in Delaware. It keeps me busy and active!
We live in OTOW which is close to the Villages, but smaller and same concept. We specifically moved here so that when one of us passes we have lots to do and lots of friends, way better than living totally alone with nothing to do.

Dyed hair, not dyed hair, who cares! People should look the way that makes them feel good. Dyed hair is not to look young but to feel good about yourself if you don’t like white hair. I feel the same about face lifts. Why judge at this age. Enjoy life and be you.

I know some streets have decided to get name tags made with the street also on it to monitor if outsiders are in their midst. Especially if the party invites people inside.
My hand went up with you two when the question was asked about hiring for the care of the yard! Been there done that up north. Don't want to do it in retirement. We went to The Canyons last Saturday with a group of 10, sixty and seventy year olds and did 9 lines! We had a blast! We all want to go again soon.

OH I LOVE VICTORIA AND JEANNINE (and not just because my name is also Victoria!) We have two daughters ourselves and will be retiring in the near future, thus more time in THE VILLAGES ... not just "visiting" our home there. Our daughters do enjoy the Villages as well and I just LOVED hearing and seeing the both of them! Paradise is also our closest regional rec center/family pool closest to us. We hope to see you both when we "officially" move there ... we owe you both a breakfast, lunch or dinner of your choice for sure! XOX Michael & Vicky (if you still remember us.

Great video. Jerry, I’m with you on paper plates. Use them most of the time. Linda, I stopped dyeing my hair at age 70 when I moved here to TV. It is very freeing. My hair was medium brown. I’m gotten lots of compliments on my “silver” hair. 😊

We once had a lawn service do our lawn (our lawn was admired by the neighborhood and was beautiful). Every time he cut the lawn he cleaned his blades because he said the weeds would just transfer to other lawns. He especially did not want that to happen to our weed-free lawn since he was the one who fertilized/treated it. Apparently the lawn cut before ours was loaded with weeds. So you could be getting your weeds from a prior homeowner who wasn’t so caring about a weed-free lawn.

I think in losing your spouse I personally think it would depend on where your kids lived how many friends you still had back home if you were a snowbird or a full timer? I just saw a video somewhere in Fl where a gator attacked a golf cart and that gator was huge! Linda you are right brown hair doesn’t grey well I stopped coloring a long time ago but I do get a toner on my hair every 5 weeks to even the grey and give me body ..

So sweet of you to mention my name.🥰💕 Regarding hair color, on my mother‘s death bed, three weeks prior she wanted her hair to be colored and her nails done. She was almost 89. Pineapple with Canadian ham for pizza.
Pizza is a meal and snack depending on the time of day.
That gator attack happened behind my house here in Pennbrooke Fairways. I saw it happening from my lanai , screamed fro my husband, and ran for the phone and called 911. It was very traumatic. Golfers were nearby and hurried over to help. They did get the gator and the hand, but it was too mangled to be reattached. The victim is recovering well and has returned to his New Jersey home.

A recent widower, I ran across your channel and enjoy seeing how the other half live! It's obvious you both enjoy meeting new people and enjoy all the offerings of The Villages. I recently spoke to a couple that just moved back to PA from Florida. Their reasons for leaving were numerous but the incerase in the amount of people and traffic were at the top of their list. Also, they said it was the incresed cost of living there. They commented that in the last year everything was increasing in cost and made it unaffordable for them to stay. Of coarse, they missed family and friends and decided to reunited with them instead of making new friends. It appears you are both loving The Villages. Certainly not for me as I love the changing of the seasons, I have numerous friends but most of my family has passed on. My friends have turned into family. I do understand that outgoing and active people probably thrive in your environment. I would not like the heat either. Where I live in NW Pennsylvania, we always have a nice breeze due to so many bodies of water around our area, most notably, Lake Erie. The winters have been very mild the past few years so harsh winters are (for now) not an issue. It's nice to know that you two are happy where you are at. Do you think you'll remain in that area as you get older? Are there adequate Senior services for those who have issues with mobility, stroke victims, and other disabling conditions to allow them to remain in their homes? Enjoy your life together, as we all know, as we age, time seemed to excellerate in nature. Jewel

Another fun show you two. Lots of information and giggles. Linda's hair always looks lovely so I don't know what Stormy Weather is talking about. My hair was gray at 40 so I'm pretty used to it.
It’s advised not to move for one year after loosing a spouse. That way you don’t make a rash decision that you will regret. Of course, not everyone has the ability to wait that long, but I would think you should wait at least six months, if possible.

Hi Jerry and Linda! Love your show and love your little ditties for each segment! In the Rec Centers volunteer neighborhood groups have annual permits which grants them the right to use the room on certain days. The food is decided by the group which is usually pot luck sometimes the food is catered or pizzas are ordered.
I like the songs. Maybe for the entertainment section use “Let me Entertain You”.

OK you little Leprechauns! Great show! Ongoing lawn maintenance is quite a challenge when you know what is supposed to be done. The Canyons look like a really fun place to visit, but i will keep my feet on the ground. The golf course management personnel should now be looking ahead to avoid the grass conditions that are causing them to shut down the courses and redo. Plan, not play 'catch-up' - otherwise in 15 years the new courses be in the same shape as the old ones now. Got last week's jumble. Still working on this one. Have a great week. I see the Letterman are returning to the Savannah Center. My brother is in the hospital so prayers are welcome.🙏
