Standard is definitely more balanced. But both are very fun to watch
Two thoughts:
- Standard and NOMAD are both cool and offer different experience i fuck with both
- Lethal Jack might be the coolest name of all time
It would be great if when your going through each player during the early part of the game if you showed their fog of war. I was really curious to know who knew of purple and his badass little home.
If he had blacksmith upgrades, easy win for purple!

Hey Drongo,
I noticed early on when they added FFA Queue, that you played a few times on some of the standard maps. I was never able to get an FFA on a standard map as it has always been mega/land mega.
Did they remove the standard maps for FFA, or is there a setting?
The bug happens to me as well! When you viewed this replay, did it say on the UI that it was standard or nomad?
Basically I'm wondering if the bug is in the mode selection (standard instead of nomad) or in the nomad generation (nomad game mode has some bug that makes it fall back to standard)
Also on standard ffa it would be nice if we got a cast on a recording of a video so you can do a rewind and see all the important action happening on the map because too many awesome things happen at the same time
@AussieDrongo pretty sure the standard/land megarandom bug only happens when you re-queue immediately after playing a game. Instead of "play again" go back to main menu and queue up again.
No springalds vs 16 bombard’s is rough
I love how I stopped playing aoe4 months ago due to having a new baby and work being nuts and I still watch drongo every night before bed. Lol maybe one day I'll have time to game again how do you do it man? Don't you have a new baby and produce content you absolute savage.

About downvoting map (mega random), you can still get a map you downvoted and that is by design. See the patch note where downvoting was first introduced. Downvoting is only supposed to reduce the chance of getting a map.

Because 2. rank is 3D_Waffle not Gandalf.
Nomad more fun to Watch in the beginning but standard is more fair
Dunno if it's crazier that 1st place had like 32 bombards at the end or that a reasonably close went to a player with no blacksmith upgrades. O_o

So sad for Lays. Clearly slipped his mind while he was out rampaging to build blacksmiths. That plus the production bottleneck lost him this game that he should have had in the bag!
But dang those aoe bombards are crazy with a chunky frontline!

Standard is the one with no king. Its the GOAT version and you cant even play it anymore.
