- 10qt PowerXL Vortex Air Fryer Oven 4lb Rotisserie Chicken
*I would play with the rotisserie spit with no meat on it to get comfortable putting it on and getting it to turn!! the motor is on the left side, so get it in that side nice & good.
*make sure the bird is in the middle of the spit as best as u can, AND MAKE SURE ITS SECURE & TIGHT!
*Let marinade for at least 30min
**4lb MAX (must tie/trust bird)
375 for 45min and let rest for 15min
***In my experience with this, I wouldn't bother seasoning the cavity because you don't get much flavor from it when air frying, thats why I went crazy in the video as a test lol I barely could taste what I dumped in 🤷🏾♂️ so focus on the outside & try to season under the skin if you can

I am very happy with the Cosori Air Fryer. It's the perfect size for the two of us. I like the fact there's very little oil being used - that helps with cooking a bit healthier ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB for the two of us. The biggest tip is do not put parchment paper - the pre-cuts are very nice - in the basket during the pre-heat setting. You will catch it on fire. Also use Avocado Oil if you're using oil. It has a high smoke point to it. UA-cam has been great with finding recipes for the Air Fryer.
I gave you a thumb up for just explaining how the skewers work alone. 👍🏾👍🏾
Heck yeah! My air fryer doesn't even explain it.
Exactly!!!
That's the main reason why I came to see this video. For the skewers alone. And he explains it well.
@@MiJacFan1 The instruction sucks. I always have to go to youtube and look at videos along with the instruction for my gadgets.
The indignities we put a dead bird through. 😀
Nice video. I also tried this using an almost 6lb chicken but recommend to everyone staying close to 5.5 or less. Two things I learned, 1st- the skewer has an indentation (dimple) on each side to set the screw to prevent sliding. 2nd- when placing the skewer in the oven, the book says to slightly lift the right side (with the supplied tool) so that the left side can slide into the motor, and then reversing when removing. The chicken came out so juicy and tasty that even the left overs remained that way. Thanks for making this video, I hope everyone try’s it!! Power up!
Thank you for a simple and detailed explanation on how to actually put the chicken in. The instruction I got were non existent! Thanks for you time. Honestly this makes the best chicken. Love it
When it comes to the drip pan I wrap mine with heavy duty aluminum foil and when I'm done take it off and you don't even have to clean it.
Thanks👊🏾
good idea.
Does anyone else have grease drip from under the oven, near fan? I use my power xl a lot for rotisserie chicken.
Smart man ima do that from now on 👍🏻
I’ve done that
Thank you @CookingWithDoug for this video. It is by far the BEST video I have found of a rotisserie chicken. You showed so much detail for a newbie. To aide in cleanup, I saw in a video on TT, to put foil on the bottom tray. It really helps! I will definately be watching more of your vids. Thanx again!!
I needed a good walk through for how to set the whole rotisserie contraption up. Found your video, and just threw my chicken in to marinate. Thanks!
Great job explaining how to cook the chicken. Just bought an air fryer, rotisserie cooker and haven’t used it yet. You made it look so easy and your chicken was beautiful. Thanks I will be following you 👌🏾
After watching so many people doing this..hands down you are my favorite. Thanks for the teaching, now I'm going to try the rotisserie again😁
I'm a first time viewer of your channel and so far I'm very impressed thank you very much I love the way you take the time to explain how this all works.
OMG!!! I feel very silly but I'm so glad I watched this because I didn't know what the u-shaped thingy was. I had it in the utensil graveyard but you use it to life the baskets or spit! Thank you, Doug!!!
You saved my Christmas with this video Doug!! I just bought an air fryer with a rotisserie and there were no instructions on how to do this.
I made the rotisserie chicken! Thank you for sharing and showing it all - mine was 2.5 pounds so didn't take long at all - was amazing! I did have an easy clean up too! wow love my power xl!!!
Thanks for this instructional, I couldn't figure out how to make my chicken spin. I was happy you went in depth on that.
I’m glad you did this! I’ve been super intimidated to use the rotisserie , but I feel better now. Thanks!
YAAAY!!! Thanks so much 🙌🏾
@@COOKINGWITHDOUG where can I find the liquid smoke? Thanks.
Walmart or any popular supermarket in your area
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful!
Thank you I have been wanting to see how to use that tool
Thank you for your videos! I just got my Vortex from QVC and can't wait to start using it. You give me confidence!
Great video. I just got mine a couple weeks ago. Had problems with rotisserie and almost sent it back. Decided to do a bit more research first (manuals sometimes miss a step). Here’s what I learned: (1) make sure you tighten the screws on the side with the dimples and (2) the side with the square end goes on the left side, push it in a bit, then enter the right side. Until next time!
Thank you. Did not realize that.
I just got this fryer and was searching YT for people cooking with it. Love your channel great energy !
Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for your video. I have only had my air fryer (same as yours) 2 days. Did fish and chips last night and today was all set to do the rotisserie chicken. Wish I had watched your video first. Couldn't get it to work. Ended up putting it in My Instant pot with air fryer lid and it came out great. Thanks to you I know what I did wrong. I live in New Zealand and you now have a bi fan.
That chicken looked amazing, even before you cooked it. Very well presented video. 3 thumbs up.
I just purchased this air fryer based off of your likeness and I must say I'm Not disappointed at all....
I’ve seen maybe 100 air fryer videos.
Yours is the only one I clicked the like button on
Whoa....NICE!!! 🙌🏾
Thank you so much for this vid!!! I bought a Cornish hen since is a small game, but thanks to your vid, I can see the importance of having the chicken legs tight up!!! 👍😇
Hey Thanks so much for putting this video out! I needed to get mines to turn! It’s nice when a video says just what you need without a lot of hype!!! Thank you so much!!!!
About to cook rotisserie chicken for the first time in our new air fryer. Thanks for this excellent tutorial.
Thank you. The instructions doesn't explain much so I came to UA-cam and found this you're awesome 😋👍. Happy Holidays 😊
Yum, I love the explanation of how to use the rotisserie rod. Excellent meal!
I have this exact model and was curious as to how this worked for rotisserie chicken. Thank you for sharing Doug.
Me too. I got mine 4 weeks ago and have mostly been using it to cook steaks and hamburgers. I couldn't figure out how to use the rotisserie to cook a cornish hen for dinner until I watched this video. I was wondering why it wouldn't spin but just found out I put the spit in the wrong direction. Now its working perfectly.
I use the foil sheets; makes clean up easy. Thanks for the demo!
OMG this video is amazing !!! Thank you so much !!! New sub !! I’m going to buy this air fryer today ! I wasn’t even going to buy until I saw your video ! I was concerned the whole chicken wouldn’t fit, gotta love these videos ! Thank you so much again !:)
Thanks Doug, I just got an airfryer for Christmas and was intimidated also. Now I am ready to do the Rotisserie Chicken.. Loved all the spices you used . Looks so yummy!!
Great video! I just got my Air Fryer with Rotisserie feature! So excited to use now! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing I just bought it from QVC last weekend. I can’t wait to do the rotisserie chicken. Stay safe and happy holidays.
First thing we did was rotisserie cornish hens. They were delicious. 🥰
Thank you for the great video and the tip of this all is to make sure you stick the correct end in the motor! The side with two gaps. Also a 3 1/2 pound chicken is perfectly good and we stuck some herbs in a cavity with a recipe of 2 tablespoons of paprika and one and ahalf teaspoons of dried thyme and 1 teaspoon of garlic and onion powder and salt and pepper best chicken ever
New sub! Very inspirational, thank you. Just got a tower air fryer with rotisserie, so can't wait to use it. Your dinner looks yummy. Blessings to you and all 🙏🕊 🇬🇧
I can’t find the book to my air fryer but tonight I want to make a rotisserie Chicken and thanks to your video I know how! Thanks!
I'm new to the air fryer I just picked up the one used in this video. I'm really enjoying your vids as I didn't realize just how many different things can be cooked inside these or I would've have one sooner. I thought it was basically similar to a microwave just used for heating up precooked foods I had no idea it can get so yummy.
Yes because I been had these rotisserie parts for about 2years now and threw the instructions away.. lol you saved the day now look at me in here Cheffin it up!!! Thanks bruh.😊😅
🙌🏾
Just made this tonight on my tower pro omg best chicken I have ever tasted xx hi from Glasgow Scotland xxx
🙌🏾
I really like that mr. D gives us the first bite. Yum
That chicken is much too beautiful for words ! Should be displayed in a magazine ! And the sound of it when you made your cut … ahhhh sound so juicy and moist ! Dude you’re killing me over here! Such a gorgeous plate for sure !:)
Great video. Just bought same air fryer last week. Haven’t used yet. Definitely appreciate it.
I did 4 lemon pepper chickens in this air fryer and they turned out perfect
Thank you. Especially the bit where you said press the rotisserie button which we didn’t realise we had to do. Had taken chicken in and out trying to attach thinking we did it wrong. Thank heavens for u tube
Yum, Yum Great Show, I have a Power XL I enjoy it very much. Got it off of QVC three weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing more shows with you. God Bless!
I'm gonna keep them coming
I went to our 'club store' today, and they were out of their chickens! So, I thought why not get my own and use my airfryer!! Thank you, I'll be making it tonight!
I was lost how to assembly the rotessier but thanks to you i now know and your food looks so delicious
So glad I found this. Like others I was intimidated. Thank you Doug.
Thanks for the video!! I couldn’t figure out how to get the skewer to engage until I watched your video!!
Thank you so much, this helped us with how to get the rotisserie to turn!
Great video. Was a bit confused on attaching the prongs. You solved that problem. I like the ties you used also.
I've got one of these and I could not figure out how to get it to turn with the rotisserie setting. I'm glad this guy said to jam it in there because that's the only way I didn't feel like I got ripped off cuz now I have rotating french fries LOL
Thinking of getting this Air Fryer so taking in all info I can find... Awesome video. Very helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. Trying out a rotisserie chicken right now. A learning curve that’s for sure. Had to figure out the sweet spot for the skewer as it fits in the motor housing. If it’s to far in it won’t spin and if it’s to far out it won’t spin.
Bought this to help my son with his weight.,I love your video.
Thank you so much for this! I just got one for my bday, can't wait to try it out tonight!
.....and I was thinking I needed the rotisserie basket....thanks for sharing
Thanks for great video. Just bought this air fryer and loving it. Cooked ribs, steak and mushrooms so far...rotisserie next after fried chicken Going to pack up old rotisserie and use this one (air fryer smaller).
Thank you, and I liked the elastic bands!
Thank you just purchased that airfryer very very helpful
Thx so much for ur video buddy...I’m waiting on mine from QVC and my first cook will be a chicken...good job...appreciate it!!
Thanks for this detail video..I'm impressed at how well it turned out it's looks "absolutely fantastic"😘
Thanks cutie(QT)🙌🏾
Omg that chicken 😹I’m going to try it , I got mine today from QVC and I did one of the recipes and I love it !
Thank you !!!!! This was super super helpful after searching so many different videos.
We just got one tonight and we can't wait to use it
Thanks for the inspiration on using my new air fryer.
I just learned how to use the Rotisserie part of my Vortex Air Fryer Oven. I watched the video that explained how to use the Rotisserie part of my Air Fryer Oven. I love using my Vortex Air Fryer Oven. Easy to use and easy to clean. The video's on this channel show you how to make certain meats in your Vortex Air Fryer Oven.
I would have used the chicken drippings to make gravy but I love what you did with them. That looks so good. I'm glad I found your channel. I'm going to have to check out your facebook group. I just ordered the same air fryer. I can't wait to try it out.
Hi Doug I just found your videos
Recipe looks great!
Glad you use the pan drippings on your rice
Green Tabasco my favorite😂
Good job friend, just purchased a rotisserie AF after owning a basket style for over a year. 🏁
Cannot wait to make a rollin chicken….
Thanks…👍🏻👊🏻😋
I’m so glad I found your post I wanted to try putting my 3 pound turkey breast on my rotisserie . It looks amazing and your dirty riced cauliflower I’m going to try it today thank you
your chicken turned out so nice! Thanks for the video!
Doug’s positive vibes is life 🤌🏽 bless up my king 👑
Good video. Thanks for posting.
As a side note; the title pilot hole on the shaft on the spit is there so that the screw on the fork does not move when you’re putting the forks into the chicken. That’s why the screw has a chamfer on the end of it as well.
Thank you! Because of your video, we figured out why the chicken wouldn't turn!
Looks YUMMY!!! ORDERED MY XL AIR FRYER, Just can't wait to cook some chicken
thank you so much you made rotisserie portion easy to understand and do thank you I just boughtt I see where I went wrong why mind didn t rotate thank you so much YOUR AWesome!
Your cutting board is dope! Loved the video, made me excited to use mine
The chicken looks amazing! Very nice air fry oven. Thanks for the video.😋😋
😘🥰🙌🏾
Well done. Good presentation. Thanks Doug!
That looks delicious Doug! Thanks for the video.
Doug, make sure you wipe down the spice containers after with some disinfectant wipes!!
Looks amazing brother. With foidi oven did rotisserie.
Doesn't bacteria need to stay moist to stay alive? Won't any that are alive on the container surfaces die when the air dries them out? I guess it would nicer if your containers did not have dried on raw chicken juice on them.
Thanks Doug looking good gonna get a chicken tomorrow and try it in my air fryer
Here because someone bought me an Air Fryer as an early Christmas Present, so thanks for posting.
Thank you so much. I had no idea how to use this feature but you made it easy 🙂
I had to hit that like button seeing how you did a awesome demonstration of how to use the skewers.#FirstTimeAirfryerOwner#👍👍

Thank you for this video, I got this air fryer for Christmas and I’ve been wanting to use the rotisserie feature but wasn’t sure what to do. This video is super helpful!
Hey man love the video. I tried it myself had issues with not tying the chicken tight enough. Flavorful as hell!
I also put tinfoil on the drip plate and its way easier to clean Up!!!
