Honestly, out of all the supercar channels, this is the coolest project. 599, major points gated conversion, massive points. i love the 599. sadly they only made like 20 in manual. from what I know, conversions are relatively simple. looking forward to seeing its completion.
Well, as soon as I put out that content people will bitch that I'm not putting out DIY content. So I can't win. But we're going on a road trip next week...
Cool! I was not aware that Pennzoil was a Shell subsidiary! I have always used Mobil1 synthetic and been quite happy with their engineering/scientific characteristics for high performance motors/racing however I will look into Pennzoil/Shell products more closely. BTW do u have an opinion on Mobil1? thanks.
And You thought you had it bad. I crew on a B25 Mitchell bomber which carries 30 gallons per engine. It comes in 2 1/2 gallon containers. We usually burn 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon per engine per side. We cruise at 180 MPH burning 60 gallons a gas per engine. And you thought a Ferrari had bad mileage. Have enjoyed your videos for quite a while. Love when Meg does her reviews, those are funny. Keep it up👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I don't want to get in trouble Dan, but how about a 4 post, Bendpak (HD-7P)car lift they cost around $4k similar to Dragtimes in his garage? I guess one of them would measure up to fit your garage. Be easier for filming and less crawling around on the floor. 🙄🤐
Every time you use the Quickjack I always forget to comment when I'm done watching the video that you need to buy at least one extra set of hydraulic couplers for the hose and pump. I've had my QJ for 4 years and had two of the couplers completely fail and start pouring liquid out of the connection.
Hay man I spoke to u 2 years something happen with my Ferrari F430 spider I haven’t started it in 2 years lol and when I did drive it smoke out while driving then it wouldn’t go in to first gear do u know why that happen I’m still gonna take it to the shop but I finger I ask u cus u know a lot I would really appreciate your feed back plz
I think Shell Oil needs to hook you up with a garage placard/shield. Would look good over the work bench and next to the Ferrari shields. Maybe something in a neon sign, perhaps.....?
It's a real bummer that Shell V power-nitro plus is only 91octane in Roseville, MN and my new C8 requires 93 octane had to switch to BP for 93 octane....Thanks again Dan....
Hi Dan - another great video. Have you considered moving a little outside of Austin and getting a house with a larger pole barn/workshop to work on cars?
This video is fairly incomplete. There is a pretty specific start up procedure for the oil change on the 599 that you didn’t even mention, much less show.
Shell is the gold standard. Cool to see that they are still supporting your channel.
JOOOOSSHHH !!!!
Gaaaaabe !!!! Daaaaan !!!!
Boy, it's great to see you fellas !!! Great video Dan !!! It's coming along nicely !!!!
Thanks 👍
how about a close up of the Farrah Fawcett poster in the background next time.....thx
Haha

You're also forgetting to mention Shell/Penzoil is the factory oil for Ferrari. All Ferraris from the modern era have used Shell/Penzoil motor oil.
Yup. They've had a long history together
Thats the oil i used in my Alfa Romeo 147 TS. That oil can stand a lot of heat. Nice job Dan
DIY and maintenance is fascinating and all, but how about more driving and Shenanigans content?
Well, as soon as I put out that content people will bitch that I'm not putting out DIY content. So I can't win. But we're going on a road trip next week...
Awesome video and channel! So what can a do it yourself use for a service reset tool for this car without spending $10K+??
Get a launch x431
V12 Beast of an engine!
Dan great info again 👍 Mo great supervision

Mobile 1 is pretty good stuff too. No complaints

LOL yes, you have quite a few more cylinders than I have to deal with. :)

8:30 The moment he almost strip the bolt !!
A great page to visit to help you with oil is called "project farm". Not foolproof testing but an interesting way to test and interesting results!!
12.5 liters?
That's an oil spill waiting to happen on an oil change. Epa might show up at your house 😂
No kidding!
hey. love your videos. What pennzoil oil you'd use for f355, LA weather? thanks
I'm not sure. Haven't looked that up.
@@normalguysupercar thanks, for some reason i was under impression you are wizard of Shell and Penzzoil. no worries. ;)
We pay £1.29 per litre for Shell V-Power in the UK, so about $6 per US gallon. They also dropped the Nitro+, as there is NO Nitromethane in the fuel!!
1:40. Sir, that is Flash, and James Best wants him back lol.
Oil change game is strong Dan, maybe you could get a side hustle working at jiffy lube. 🤣
Looks great
Thanks

Is there just one drain plug on the oil pan or were there two?
I was just wondering how you got it back to the house to do the oil with no transmission in it. Now I get it.
10w60 oil is also used in bmw m3 and m5,just genuine bmw oil.
It's used in a lot of higher performance engines but fairly uncommon for street cars.

Already on the way. 😁👍
@@normalguysupercar .....cool (in Eric Cartman's voice).

If you're at high altitude you can run lower Octane because you aren't getting as much air. That's why many of the high altitude states don't have 93.
@@normalguysupercar We are at 955 ft.
Ah well then it's just unfortunate. Lol
I'm sure that you could run 91 without any issues, your computer will adjust. Most states don't have 93 as conventional premium.
That car is beautiful
Great video 👍
Isn’t the v power nitro stiff just an additive they put into there normal shell fuel?
I'm a long way from a Ferrari but when I get one at least I know what to use 😂
My BMW use to have a “trap door” in the under tray to get to the sump plug to change the oil. Any chance of making one on this car?
Costco is making a delo substitute as well as Mobil 1 knockoffs.
Wow, that's a thirsty engine!
How many participants do you have for the road trip so far?
10 cars.
@@normalguysupercar NICE!!
Hi Dan - another great video. Have you considered moving a little outside of Austin and getting a house with a larger pole barn/workshop to work on cars?
What's interesting is I never saw you put the Petronas additive in.
Killing it in likes
My Hero........... :0)
What is the red's name?
Rosso corsa
Trying to find Pennzoil euro 0w20 for my Jaguar and I can’t seem to find it anywhere… Shell power 93 is the only fuel my car sees!!!
Yes indeed
Blah, blah, blah my... AUNTIE said oil xyz is better. There you have it Dan! :D
Rule #1 before a road trip: don’t do any mods or unnecessary wrenching so you don’t pinch a line and spray oil on the guy behind you DAN....
I have Noooooo idea what you're taking about... 😂
This video is fairly incomplete. There is a pretty specific start up procedure for the oil change on the 599 that you didn’t even mention, much less show.
Cool
I changed the oil in my boring honda accord yesterday. The whole time I was wishing it was a Ferrari.
Billy Bob would like a word with you
Haha ok
I would of CAPS’d FERRARI 599 rather than OIL in the title 😂
Data says rp an amsoil
Redline all the way
I only use Donny’s Discount Gas. They’re about an eighth of a cent cheaper.
Unless your car sucks and you don't care, be very careful when you use those discount fuels. They are cheaper for a reason.
Don't see what so special about 10w60 i would have thrown some 20w50 in and keep moving
That’s what she said. 🤣
Data say
599 gto next 😂
The tray on a 458 is so freakin annoying
Yes it is
Oh no... I was wating for a disaster =)
