Both British (cruelty in India), Japanese(cruelty in Korea/china) and German (Cruelty in Eastern Europe) during world war 1 &2 is way beyond our imagination because Satan had arrived to earth to create havoc that time!!

Nice conversation. The British did trade in slaves even until early 1900s (famously, Yale who founded the Yale University made his wealth trading in Indian slaves). Gandhi gets a lot of credit because he gave a face-saving exit for the British. There were numerous violent revolutions all around India against the British (most notably, the INA (Indian National Army) founded by Subhash Bose -- shown in the final song sequence from Calcutta).

This got a golden globe today. For the song. Was nominated for the international category. India didn't send it as an official oscar pick so it can't run in that category in oscars.

I don't know what headphones you're using but sound design was immaculate. I think the reason you felt it was bad because most of the action scenes have speed ramping it goes from extreme slow motion to fast ro normal. When in those normal speed sound design was extremely immersive and the surround channels are actually a lot louder than any hollywood movie I've ever watched. 😊

I don’t remember my comments about the sound design but I usually don’t watch the movie with headphones. But honest I don’t remember lol. Thanks for your comment.

Agree, all the ‘issues’ mentioned are cultural. The science of performing arts in India is written a certain way.Classical dance has a whole side assigned just for performance through facial expressions, something we never see in western arts. This movie was a shock to the western audience at a time they were put off by Hollywood stuff.I have a feeling the interest in Indian movies will pass in due time as they start getting nostalgic again for vintage Hollywood.RRR is still a great movie and one which went very light on the reality of British colonialism. It’s like the native Indians making a movie on European occupation of the Americas. Not whether Americans think the British have been given a fair deal. It’s the experience of the colonized not the colonizer or neutral viewer. The American revolution was essentially colonizer vs colonizer over taxes…eg even most Hollywood movies on the subject are about guilt ridden white saviors, the real colonized are just secondary to them). Also since this movie is about revolutionaries ,Gandhi is not in it,quite appropriately.Don’t think Indians want to even get into a debate about how his contribution to the independence struggle was sold to the world any more:)))
The manifestation at the end is not a ‘ god’,that’s how the real revolutionary dressed. Also the cues in certain scenes are going to be read very differently by a Foreign audience vs an Indian audience.Eg the roaring back did not subdue the tiger; it was just not wanting be be an easy victim to the tiger.Or that colonialism was institutionalized racism ,so all at the party would have an objection to some Indians getting in.That’s quite real to actually history. As is the debased and cruel nature of their policies there. This movie was primarily made for an Indian audience.

The budget of this movie only USD 69 million? US audience should've roar and revolt to Hollywood and shame them for financing the like of She-Hulk or Rings of Power which spend this much per episode.

I don't have a problem with ur review. But when u say mythology. Where does ur definition of mythology state from ( a date) other than ad or bc . UT mythology is ourt truth. There existed a life before BC. Atleast for Indians culture where the world mythology doesn't matter.as that's a perspective according to cultures. The word mythology h!s different me!nings depending on different culture@. The b!asks point differs.
