Wow! Great turnout from "The One". Thanks so much for all your comments today guys. I love seeing how passionate the BABYMETAL fans are and I learned so much about the group, their history and backstory. I also learned they have a new album coming out very soon with a new song out every month. Def let me know which of their new tracks you'd like me to cover (if they have any live versions of said tracks, even better!). Again, thanks so much. Please sub if you want to see my other BM reactions, there will certainly be more ;)

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy.🦊🤘
All the bands and artist you mentioned are great but you won't find any other group like BabyMetal out there, to find out how they arrived to this moment you need to go back more than 10 years ago to witness they started this so young giving and sacrificing half of their lives to this project, they won the love of many fans around the world for a reason and you saw just the tip of the iceberg from this global phenomenon.
They came back with new singles, 2 already out, and 3 more coming this year along with a live performance and the 4th album release, later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour. Also all tracks were already teased and next January 20 is coming the 3rd single, we just can't wait.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, 23 now.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
"Karate" is one of their stronger weapons along with "Road Of Resistance" from 2nd album "Metal Resistance" released in 2016. Is an uplifting song about keep fighting besides the obstacles, and if you take a closer look at the end you'll see in the eyes of their rivals that they're fighting against no other than themselves.
Some fans find anime vibes on BabyMetal songs, the only other song I could find with anime vibes besides this one and their recently released new single"Divine Attack - Shingeki", is "Syncopation" another banger.
This was a live compilation from Budokan 2021 celebrating their 10 years, the live shows were pretty similar that's why you won't notice the differences. The third backup dancer is called "avenger", she's filling the third spot after YuiMetal left the group officially in 2018.
The backing band is called the Kami Band, kami means roughly "god", they were send to help the girls with the metal sound, they're wearing black tunics and masks after 2019 but before 2018 you'll see them with burial white robes and corpse face paint, during early years they got another fake band called "baby-bones" on stage.
If you enjoy and like this song then another nice recommendation to witness a different and unique version is Karate live at Download Festival 2016, is even more epic with the rain and the crowd singing along with them, trust me. You can find a clip safe to react at "kitsune6001" channel with a short interview in the intro.
Also the official MV is really nice to understand a little bit more about the message of this song.
If you want another different song i recommend you:
    - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 official, try to put some filters to avoid being blocked.
I'm gonna leave another suggestion for you in my next comment.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time. 🦊🤘🔥

We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning.
You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary.
However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands.
By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans.
Here's some examples of safe to react live performances:
      - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" channel or "abr metal") or Legend I (2012).
      - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" channel got this)
      - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait channel or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource channel under the title "CMIYC".
      - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful)
      - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" channel got this one)
      - Distortion, live at Download Festival 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, official channel got the Download version and is safe to react.
If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit.
Thanks for sharing your BabyMetal reactions and reading this humble recommendation. 🦊🤘

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Fox Hole.🦊You are right, your niece would probably love them ... but if you take her to a BABYMETAL concert you will find yourselves surrounded by people of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities and musical backgrounds from parents (and uncles/aunts) with their kids, teenagers, tattooed metalheads in their battle jackets, pop fans, old rock and metal fans who had become disillusioned with how most new bands were all doing the same thing and drifted away, but had been brought back because of the energy, enthusiasm, originality and quality of these young ladies and their virtuoso backing band (I speak from experience) and all sorts of everybody else.
You were also right about BABYMETAL being very much a performace based act. I have seen many of the recognised great live bands over the last 5 decades and I was never more entertained than I was at the two BABYMETAL concerts I've been to so far. I can only dream of going to one of their big arena shows in japan with the incredible productions they put on - but they bring the energy, quality and enthusiasm to every show they do, even in the smaller venues they play as they tour the world.
They appreciate people pay a lot of money and often travel a very long way to see them and they never give less than 100% effort to be sure of giving those people value for their time and money - and that applies every time they step on stage for every second of every show.
BABYMETAL are lead vocalist Su-metal (the whole concept was formed, developed and evolved around her extraordinary vocal talents and stage presence - this was in 2010 and she was only 12 years old - she is 25 now and has only imporoved and extended her range while she has dedicated over half of her lifetime to BABYMETAL) and supporting her with backing vocals, harmonies and most importantly leading the audience in live shows with their choreo, Yuimetal and Moametal. They were both 11 when BABYMETAL formed.
Sadly Yuimetal left the band in October 2018 following a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and from 2019 through 2021 were supported in live shows by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) who would take turns dancing in the third spot. Momoko was the Avenger in this video.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album and as such it is one of their more "radio friendly" songs. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards.
They have over 50 songs now. You will not find another band quite like BABYMETAL - the word unique is thrown around so much, this is one band to whom it really does apply. You will not be able to pigeonhole them or fit them in just one box - they refise to be limited in what they do to just one style.
Each song is different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre (thrash, djent, Prog, Nu-metal, death, black, folk, power/speed and so on) but they will mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it.
Some songs are good hard metal some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between - they never get boring.
In live shows they are supported by the Kami Band - a group of virtuoso session musicians, the best to be found in Japan. They can play anything, which is just as well given how divers the BABYMETAL catalogue is.
There are so many great songs and performances I could recommend, but where to start. Maybe 'Megitsune' best represents them and shows their Japanese origins. The official video is excellent, but live at Budokan Black Night (from March 2014 - 7 years before this Budokan performance you saw) is a good performance that is safe for reactions.

@@breakdownlounge9541 You will also come to realize that Babymetal views the fans as part of the band. They really enjoy getting the fans involved when they can. Karate was a pretty good song to start off with. Nothing flashy, nothing crazy. Wasn't one of their more difficult songs, nor one of their easiest. 46 year old dude here who just got back into Babymetal recently. I paid attention to Gimme Chocolate when it came out a decade (I think?) Ago and I was fascinated and loved it, but for some reason I didn't do a deep dive afterwards.
I wrote them off as a fun cool gimmick but nothing more and wooooah I was wrong!
Karate, especially this badass live version, is a great intro song, you got lucky!
The dichotomy of sounds and genre, metal and J pop, can lend to some powerful cognitive dissonance when you first hear it lol!
But it just works and it's really grown on me. They have a WIDE variety of musical sounds too which is cool. The general musical principles are there, but theirs enough experimentation that keeps it from getting repetitive or boring.
The Kami band are insane, but the highlight for me is Su Metal and the incredible amount of stage presence she had at such a young age.
You should check out Road of Resistance live in Japan. It's a little older but is probably their most epic piece. It really showcases everything. The band and solos, massive epic emotional inspirational musical ideas, incredible stage precense and the incredible ability Su Metal had at voice control while dancing at age 15.

I too dig Maximum the Hormone, which I found after getting into Japanese music after becoming a fan of BABYMETAL.
I'm a 58 year old metal musician/songwriter from Miami and BABYMETAL is still my favorite band, ever.
Starting when the girls were just 11 - 12 years old, they have endured for 10+ years, have released 3 albums (fourth due in March), done multiple world tours, achieved a #1 BILLBOARD Rock album, and enjoy strong support around the world, including from many of the top metal bands and personalities.
Rob Zombie has publicly defended them, personally eviscerating their detractors online, (Rob Halford, whom they have performed on stage with), loves them and has even been known to bring them flowers on tour!), They have toured with RHCP, Korn, Stone Sour and others, . 50+ songs, all written differently, all arranged impressively, all performed outrageously.
Their stage productions are epic, rivaled only by Rammstein's.
BABYMETAL is an act that is doing something so unprecedented and unique that peoples first several experiences with them fly right over their heads. It usually takes several songs for the formula to "click" with new listeners.
Start with "BABYMETAL, ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan" or "Headbanger, Legend 1997 - Apocalypse".
Then I suggest their latest release, "MONOCHROME" before filling in the years between.
I'll sub to watch you as you realize what you've stumbled upon.

In the latest world tours from June 2019 through March 2020 (prior to COVID), they performed live 20 times in USA (in 18 states. including one at The Forum, CA), 19 in Europe (11 countries) and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan. In 2021, they held 10 serial big concerts here in Tokyo taking very strict countermeasures against infection. After an almost 1-year hiatus, they restarted new activities on April 1 last year. Seems I'm late to the party. Everyone has beat me to it in the info category. So I'll add a little of my experience. I discovered them in early 2014 when they released their viral video for Gimme Chocolate. A video I think you should do next, if only to see who they were in the beginning, as they've changed quite dramatically since then. Babymetal started out as a fun, tongue in cheek, amalgamation of Japanese Idols and heavy metal. Being as they started as a subunit of a school themed idol pop group called Sakura Gakuin. (You should look up their music also, it's pretty good) So their roots were quite... Pop. So I'm my opinion I think you must first react to their early songs before reacting to the newest. Just so you can see how far they've come and how much their sound has changed as they got older. Karate is off their second album, Metal Resistance, and although it's a much more serious album than their first, it's still has fun and quirky elements in their music. Their third album, Metal Galaxy, is a completely new concept with a mixture of international sounds like Latin, Indian, and Celtic influences. Their new releases for the upcoming album are on a whole other level of maturity, that they don't sound ANYTHING like what they sounded like at the beginning. So yeah...I highly suggest starting at the beginning. Try their very first release, Doki Doki Morning, or Megitsune, their "theme" song in my opinion. Or Headbanger, a huge fan favorite. You have a long road ahead, so be prepared for an epic journey.
I've been to 20 of their concerts including Japan, bought more useless merch than I've ever bought, and have over 100 tour tshirts. They can become super addictive if you're not careful.

Babymetal is currently Japan's Most Famous International Group. But they had to Work for it....over the last decade (starting back in 2010 actually) they started as just a sub-unit of Girl's School Themed Idol group but broke off in late 2013 as their popularity sored!!
Throughout the mid 2010's, they were opening for, or touring with, groups like Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn and Lady Gaga and were winning all the various awards from the Heavy Metal publications like Kerrang! and Loudwire as the "Best Live Act" and "Most Devoted Fans". They were even on the cover of Vogue Magazine Japan as Women of the Year in 2015!!
Their Last Album, "Metal Galaxy" hit #1 in the USA on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart in October 2019 and won the MTV Japan award as "Best Album of the Year"!!
This is a Fantastic group who sell out everywhere they go and have reignited the Waning Flame of Heavy Metal in many an old Metalhead who were becoming very Bored with the direction Metal was going....and Babymetal turned it on its Ear!!

Their first major breakout was at the Sonisphere metal festival in England. In a 30 minute performance they conquered the English metal world. In 2019 they sold-out the LA Forum as part of their sold-out world tour. They were the first Japanese band to perform in Wembley Arena, broke the record for merchandise sold.
Suggestion - "Headbanger Legend of 1997" live from 2013.
There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands in Japan right now with about half all female. #1 band right now Band Maid, who just had a 14 city US tour, all venues sold-out. Nemophila will touring in March, they have performed at the Whisky a Go Go and the Aftershock festival last year. Lovebites now has their new bassist, hoping for a US tour, they toured with Dragon Force in England just before the covid lockdown. You've got some catching up to do.

Nice reaction. Welcome to Babymetal. A comment first. Watch your stream. The sound is off. Not by much but it is there. Now Back to Babymetal. They are not just another band. Babymetal on the international scene is the Number 1 Japanese group. They've chartered higher than any other Japanese group by far. They hold world records and more awards than you can shake a stick at. Babymetal has been around for over 10 years now. This video was a compilation of the 10 years of Babymetal shows at the Budokan in Japan. They did 10 shows there. All around the start of the covid lockdowns. They were lucky to get these shows in before the big lockdowns that happened around the world. Babymetal when they started was 3 young ladies known as Su-metal (lead singer), Yuimetal (backup singer and dance), Moametal (backup singer and dance). Yuimetal left in 2018 for health reasons. No one knowns what the health issue actually was. And those who do aren't talking about it. Babymetal started when they were very young. How young? Glad you asked. Su was 12 and Yui and Moa were 10. Yes, that's young. Which is part of why no one knows what the health issue was. Their management company has done a fantastic job of keeping their private lives, private. Babymetal has performed like true pros from the start. Babymetals music is known as Kawaii Metal. Kawaii meaning cute, which is a whole vibe thing in Japan. The music is basically a metal base with jpop style vocals and in between whatever style of music they want to blend in. Making for some very interesting music. Their songs are all different because of this and yet, somehow maintain an overall Babymetal sound to it. This song Karate is about the principle of there's no going back. The martial art has no backwards moves. They take that idea and apply it to life. When life has you beat down, bleeding and hurt. Get up and go forward. This idea can be seen in the choreography. The Music video presents the idea that sometimes the thing that is keeping you from going forward is you. A Brilliant video. While they have several music videos. Where Babymetal earned, their name is from live performances. A Babymetal song just isn't complete until they perform it live.
I suggest you start with their early performances from their classic era. Which means while Yuimetal was still with them. This will allow you to grow with the band. Literally because as I said they were young when they started. This era lasted from 2010 to 2017. Yui last performed with them in 2017 and officially left in 2018. Covering their first two albums and world tours. Yes, they were doing world tours before they became old enough to drink. Then comes the coming of age album. Their 3rd album a double cd set called Metal Galaxy. This started the mature Kawaii metal. Coming soon their 4th album. Due out in March. Known as the Other One. Which is a node to their fans which are known as The One. As in one with the band. They consider their fans as part of the band. As they have mentioned without them Babymetal would never have got as far as it has without them. Like many others Babymetal had a tough start. But unlike others it was because of their age, they're girls and their jpop style clean vocals. Metalheads didn't like it. But Babymetal used karate and went forward. Which were glad they did. In 2014 Babymetals song Give Me Chocolate went viral. and many heads turned to Japan and asked WTH is going on there? Which is just about the only reason folks know about groups like Lovebytes and Band Maid outside of Japan. Could they have made it on their own? Maybe but they didn't have to thanks to Babymetal paving the way. They've performed with Dragon Force, Red Hot Chilipeppers, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest. They did a collaboration with Bring Me the Horizon called Kingslayer. They also appear in Cory Taylors music video for the song Cory Taylor Must Be Stopped. They have become known for their positive message songs, the power of Su-metals vocals and amazing performances. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

This maybe their latest performance of Karate but I much prefer their "Karate - UK Download Live 2016" performance or even the official MV for Karate, I think you'd get a better feeling for the BM. Definitely compare those performance to this one, which I think was done during Covid restriction. The Foxhole runs very DEEP with BABYMETAL.

LOL. The famous BABYMETAL "WTF" moment.
This is the song that began my transformation from hater to fan. Musically it is great and the riffage absolutely crushes. You need to see more. I'd caution you against watching early MVs until you've seen a few of the more recent live performances. It is easy to scared off by the early poppy videos of when they were kids. Those creeped me out at first, TBH.
Their live musicians, the Kami Band, are fucking amazing. Live is the context where this band excels.

Thanks for the reaction, BABYMETAL is very unique and it's hard to grasp them from just one or two songs because they have so many different styles. Just want to point out that something is off with your capture of the music audio, it's fairly tinny and the cymbals pierce my ear drums. The original upload on ferr's channel which you reacted to sounds fine. I hope it didn't sound like this on your end too because I can see how it would spoil the impression.

I'm not as much of a big fan of MTH so far, but I have a few albums of its. The members are all good music players, but they are crazy-like playful without being upfront about it. But the songs have a lot of their hidden thoughts put into them.
And now, I'm really into this BABYMETAL, ha. But, I am a relatively new fan. BM means the three girls at the front. No, In this video, however, it refers to the lead singer, Su-metal in the middle and the thin girl, Moa-metal on the right. This requires some explanation, but terrific fans has already explained it below.
The backing band is called 'Kami Band'. It is summoned by the 'Fox God' for each live performances, (lol). So you are right, BM is not just a band, it is theatrical unit.
Yesterday the trailer announced what's on the new album on YT. It's about time for a new song for the month, and we're getting close to the revival gigs of theirs! Thank you from Japan!

Good reaction but DO get another look at them (they started about age 11 and 13 and so there's a HUGE range of extremely varied tracks utilising almost every genre you could think of intertwined with metal - even ska)

They were officially introduced on the 2010 October 10. An experiment that got out of hand. Formed by
Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto 12 years Vocalist ) also known as Queen-Su or true metal goddess.
    Moametal (Moa Kikuchi 11years Chorus)
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno 11years Chorus ) does not appear in the last concert of 2017, his retirement is announced in 2018.
The musicians are known as Kami-Band (divine band or band of the gods).
They create their own Kawaii-metal genre.
Kawaii It is translated as tender, beautiful...., It is characterized by using everything that is considered tender pop, folk, rap, march,... everything that you cannot imagine, On a base of any metal.
The only thing you can expect...... Is the unexpected.
In Japan, minors under 15 years of age cannot go to concerts, which is why his first works are aimed at this audience, despite that, they reached a much larger audience.
Their first work titled "Babymetal" is a compilation of early hits with more youthful and adult themes, the album "Metal Resistance" is more youthful adult, still using hooks for minors, The "Babymetal Galaxy" is more adult, using genres from all over the world.
His fourth work "the other one" (The one, is the official name of the fans) It's a concept album

Breakdown Lounge: "One of the most compelling groups in the last couple of years" BabyMetal: Hold my Saki
Here are some fun facts about BabyMetal
1.. They are buds with Metallica and Slipknot
2.. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's video
    3. They performed Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest
    4. They are the only Asian group to ever hit #1 on Billboards Top Rock chart.
    5. BabyMetal and Black Pink are the only albums by girl groups in history to enter the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Albums Year End Chart.
    6. In a recent interview Corey Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal"
    7. In 2015 Vogue Magazine Japan named them Women of The Year.
Two other songs you should watch are Legend of 1997 Head Banger - the audience goes bonkers and Road of Resistance Live in Japan their epic masterpiece. Newer songs I would suggest are BxMxC the official video and Pa Pa Ya! feat. F. Hero The girls are all grown up and beautiful and put on a stunning performance

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 👻 👻 👻
There's a good reason this was the featured single from the second album. : )
They made a lot of friends among other groups by playing a bunch of metal festivals, and this song converted quite a few.
As is usually the case, the riffs are heavier live than on the studio recording.
Like a lot of BABYMETAL songs, this one has a positive message about facing life's challenges.
BABYMETAL performed at Budokan ten times in 2021, with concerts in January, February, March and April.
'Karate' was performed at all ten shows.
Those were the only BABYMETAL performances in 2021, and the most recent concerts, although they will be back with a couple of big shows in Japan later this month.
I think you might be underestimating the range of BABYMETAL's appeal.
As well as anime and JPop fans, I've met quite a few metalheads at BABYMETAL shows.

First off good job choosing a LIVE performance as this is where BabyMetal shines. Theatrical? Don’t push BabyMetal into a corner 😉. They have over 50 LIVE song/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and Suzuka (lead vocals) is as amazing as you think. They have the respect of and have either performed or collaborated with the likes of Metallica, Slipknot, Judas Priest, Rob Zombie, Guns and Roses, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and more.
