RE5 is a great game, but it still looks and plays great, I even played it recently and there are still online players joining my game sessions which was really cool. Also, we just got a action/shooter remake with RE4 so now it'd feel good to remake probably the greatest survival horror game of all time...Yes, it is even better than Resident Evil 2! Yep, I said it!!
I hope there's credence to the leaks; I like the option to switch between Claire, Steve, and eventually Chris with their own skills and weapons. It would feel more like OG RE. Expanding the opening segments would also help expanding the lore plus ease you into it; the RE4 remake did a great job of mixing the setting, pacing and lore cohesively and the characters (particularly Luis and Ashley) had the best overhaul. Steve, of all characters, definitely needs the likable overhaul lol Make him similar to his Darkside Chronicles incarnation, even.
I kinda hate it. I don't mind individual story segments where you switch between them to play with another, but this switch at any time and only one character can mix herbs reminds me a LOT of RE0 and that's the worst classic RE we have just becasue it takes a good formula and makes it too fucking complex and annoying. But besides that if they make basic abilities a common thing between all characters, that's fine, but making a basic ass feature such as mixing herbs a Claire only thing, I will flip the table out xD
@@advmx3I played RE0 a long time ago and never beat it, so I don't remember much about it. I do remember how meh it was, though. The herb mixing wouldn't make any sense at all to put into the game; every character to that point had been able to do it. It's a core gameplay mechanic. Changing it would be beyond dumb. That being said, I'm still excited for it to be remade. Underrated game.
Thr Steve hate has always been too exaggerated to me. It was just bad voice acting. His character actually developed and apologized fir his early behavior in the game. Yet people always seem to forget this.
I honestly think that RE4 did not need a remake, nor does Resi 5. But Code Veronica definitely needs a remake, as does Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve for that matter.
If parasite eve got a remake, some new things I think should be added, rain in outdoor areas with Eve's presence due to heat from mitochondria and winter weather, monsoon rain during UB fight. story wise, maya in a flashback could say she has a "imaginary" friend (eve). I think Yvonne S. Should voice aya again, she sounded actually good as the real aya and end of the 3rd birthday. I even have her autograph on artwork of aya (my dad worked with her on a movie).
If this person really did a playtest for this game they signed an NDA, if they really are spilling the beans then they are in serious trouble from a legal standpoint.
I think it’s dumb to think that Capcom is going to leave CV out of the remakes. They’re going to see an ROI and keeps fans happy. I don’t think it’s the next RE though, I think RE9 will be. CV after that, as it’ll be done by the B team except allowing for more time. That team also has more experience after 3 and I think they’ve helped out with 4. In any event I think lessons were learned from 3 all around.
so much is missing from the current generations 'remake' branding i now cautiously poke these games with a stick before opening a wallet. The first question in my mind is always [what is hitting the cutting room floor **THIS** time] and what excuse are they going to pull to justify it. Yelling go play the original isnt exactly holding water these days.
So if they did do this... The possibility of a perfected Rebecca/Billy character swapping is pretty cool, but instill want extended single player sections.
CV makes more sense than RE5. But I´d hope after this new "remake" Capcom focuses more in new iterations, maybe new franchises or perhaps change the trend to Dino Crisis.
0:34 I hope they do it because in this one. It would give us a chance to flush out Wesker a little bit more And you'll can finally get the game as I know. You'll I've been just bugging to get this game. I really hope it goes for you all though
I'm not sure about these leaks. Feels like Capcom setup for RE 5 remake with RE 4 remake ending. But maybe it's also true since people wants to know to play Claire after RE 2 remake.
Sounds interesting if true, I think different gameplay elements for each character could work. But is it two different campaigns? Obviously this probably isn't true but if it is, sounds promising and Capcom can make it work
I also think that it would be awesome if they started the game off the same way the did RE4 Remake with Leon's back story from were we left off in RE2 this time Claire's back story I feel like it does link the story lines together making them easier to follow than how they did originally and it would also allow for more time before jumping into a RE5 Remake in my opinion perhaps considering how well that game still plays today they should hold off until the next-generation for that one perhaps make it at the end of this generation allowing for cross-gen like they did with RE2 and RE3 Remakes but at this point if any game in the series was due for a Remake it would definitely be Code Veronica
To be fair, the original resident evil I really like it was petty long also even now, which still holds having the most puzzles in any resident evil game resident evil 3 the original is a close 2nd to that. It had a good variety of weapons and enemies and backtracking. I do hope that it going to be like resident evil 4 remake which was spot on and nothing like Resident Evil 3 remake was which is the worst out of them all because it was extremely short hardly any puzzles and took most of the locations out of the game it was more like dlc then a game.
This was the RE game that got me hooked, and it's my favorite game still, so a reboot of Code: Veronica would be the most desired. Granted, it's been upwards of a quarter-century, but this remake is long overdue.
Code Veronica is one where I would prefer a total reimagining over a normal remake. The story was SO cheesy and the characters were totally unlikable IMO. I'm a diehard fan of the original trilogy but never really liked CV that much.
Its very clear that the majority of RE fans want to see this game remade. I have only played the start of the original but might tuck into it later on if this is released. Claire is my all time fav without question.
Start of the original(when it comes to CVX there's only 1 lol). But man if you liked original 1-3 you have to play CVX. Its pretty long and the story and gameplay is great. Bit easy with all the ammo you get but still alot of fun. The soundtrack is amazing with a bit of castelvania type of songs.
it SHOULD be remade. for one, they remade 2 and 3 so storywise it makes sense to do CV and finish the story off (especially for new players coming in on the re2r). Secondly, it needs one. it needed one more than 4 and 5. and lastly, Claire Chris and Wesker. enough said. capcom do it!
Yesssss code Veronica should be next capcom it will be the best option for the company and the people as well Resident evil 5 remake should be when the PlayStation 6
When i was 5 years old i first played resident evil 2 with leon & i was so scared i had to put the volume down to 0 and couldnt even get to kendos gun shop. Years later when i got code Veronica i still put the volume on 0 but i was a little older and felt brave enough to push foward, It was the first resident evil game to get me excited to play a survival horror & finish the game & the ones before it since then ive bought every single resident evil game and remake. With code Veronica remake best believe im so hype and excited to experience the game that got me in to Biohazard
Feels like dejavu. Would be awesome to see even some of this come to fruition! Thought you were going to say Steve's special ability was complaining like no other!
I would certainly like to see a new Code:V, and I agree that the initial raid would be a good intro section. Not too sure about the swapping characters mechanic, might be better to have Steve as a separate ways character. I feel the Nosferatu boss fight could be very interesting with some modern gameplay mechanics.
I've been hoping, like many others, that Code Veronica would get the remake finally and I hope it does. Side note the character strengths/skills is super cool.
If these rumors are true and you can choose between the characters. Could a code veronica remake have multiplayer? Even though this is all rumors its getting me hyped.
The games have all had some sort of beta asset for what game came next, the ashley knight corridor in RE4 and even that blue emblem just screamed Code Veronica
They need to remake RE:ORC faithfully > Veronica > Outbreak, because in truth RE: ORC was the best multiplayer game Capcom made, and there’s tons of people playing on Xbox still
CV Remake with an Operation Javier campaign DLC a la Separate Ways, I can feel it. The enemies in CV can be recycled as part of an Operation Javier DLC, which directly continues the story of Wesker, Steve and the t-Veronica virus, as well as giving us further background on Krauser and Leon. It's a perfect way to retell Operation Javier, which they've already hinted at story changes to in RE4 Remake.
I want the tiger statue puzzle changed in accordance with that of RE1make. It's the reason I never touched that game again after the one time I rented it, nor any of its long-awaited follow-ups.
Eh if they were to let you play both characters it would be how they did it in RE3 remake. Play mainly as Claire but Steve will have his own section of the game for a bit.
I really want a Re1 remake over the shoulder soo bad ! But i think i want a CV Remake now more than ever ! I need a Claire statue next to my 2,3,4, & village statues. I am now only missing Claire to complete my favorite Re characters. Wesker would be a bonus for Re5🤞😅
Wesker was the coolest character in the Resident Evil Saga, it was one of Capcom's biggest mistakes to have killed him in Resident Evil 5, in RE5 with his superpowers and super speed, it made him an even cooler villain, even more so with that cloak he uses in RE5 immortalized how badass he is. Furthermore, Wesker is part of the original S.T.A.R.S group, so he should be that unreachable enemy in the game, who always appears every 2 games in the franchise just to apply a concealer to the games' protagonists, as he did with Chris in Code Veronica.
That happened to a lot of players. If you don't keep a ton of ammo in reserve, it's easy to get soft locked on some of the bosses. Having backup saves is essential in Code Veronica, as it's almost guaranteed to happen on a blind playthrough. I accidentally left the empty fire extinguisher in the metal detector on my first playthrough, not realising I would need it later in the game to get an extra weapon/ammo, and it's impossible to retrieve it on the second disc if you don't store it in the item box. As a result, I didn't have enough ammo to kill the final boss.
I hope this game gets remade. From what we hear, here, it sound like they're gonna take the resident evil 0 style play in terms of switching characters.🫢
Real talk.. why are they rushing to push all these out the door? Is capcom hurting financially? 4 wasnt that good and I really rather not deal with that hyper-modern approach again for an entry.
RECV has to be the next remake. As a hardcore RE gamer from the PSX era, this will be something to look out for. At this moment I'm running RE1, 2 and 3 (PSX) + RE1RM, RE2RM on my pc (on a 65 inch 4K TV). Can't wait!
Code Veronica is the only title I think needs a remake. The backtracking and map layout is an aspect I thought could have been improved upon, and enemy variety is lacking. The rest of the titles were perfectly fine.
I’ve been saying for a few months that the opening segment would most definitely be playable. With RE4’s use of stealth as an option it makes perfect sense to employ that during the Paris facility infiltration as a tutorial sequence. If human enemies ARE a possibility that would be a perfect opportunity to have you go up against HCF operatives that attacked the island with Wesker. Would also make the game more action focused to allow a better bridge by the time we get RE5’s remake. The character swapping…I don’t know about all that. My idea was that it either went like: - the original where you play as Claire for half the game then Chris the second half. Keeping the quick swap near the end but altered to improve the length of it. - Claire has a campaign that ends fighting Alexia. She deserved to fight Alexia, it’s kind of weird she pretty much has no say in killing the final boss of the game. Chris has his own campaign that ends in a Wesker fight that will be like a precursor to RE5’s fights but be cinematic with a timer and an exploding environment. Being able to swap over to Steve…idk. Also it’s weird how she’s great with knives yet the stealth is his strength? despite the character being very gunho!
@@The_Phoenix_Saga I’m not one of those people who hates the action. I get it - a lot of purists from the 90’s hate the action…I don’t know why but they don’t like change. I showed up in 2002 and have played everything since the first remake - loving both styles of play. More action was what was happening with every release from the original game to CV and 4 was just too much of a jump for people to ever let it go
@@danielgregori7019 perfect in that it basically took the entire premise of the IP and trashed it? 4 only had Leon, Ada and Wesker as any relevance to the series - that's it. Had it been a game of its own, I'd give it props, but as a Resident Evil, it fails hard. Just like every game since.
@@TVthePunisher What we don't like is when a series sets a premise then suddenly abandons it and expects everyone to just accept it. Had Resident Evil been a game series that had different game styles from the start - it wouldn't have been an issue. But eight games in and having established a certain way of doing things, is not something to be just abandoned because people were whining "Tank contwols are too harrrrd..." 4 and onward as I said previously would have worked much better as IPs of their own, but instead they had to become the cheap alternative ripoffs of an established brand.
Code Veronica has so many rememberable moments and Steve is one of those characters the player falls in love with. That leaves us shocked!!!Another remake would be great is bring back Billy. Either way I’m excited for a code Veronica remake.
with how diabolical they made cheif irons and Annette in the remake, it will be so interesting how they portray Alfred and Alexa. Not to mention Steve, I hope we get a more impactful depiction of Steve and his strife on the island, and the father reveal. It could be a really emotive and dark experience. I also hope they flesh out Chris's adventure to the island and the dynamic between the siblings. ALSO! given how gross they made the Lickers, I'm hyped to see what they do with bandersnatxh and the VILE spiders. I also kinda hope the plane section is maybe changed or dropped, it really did demand a lot in the way of suspension of disbelief.
😍😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏🙏 I hope it's true! I'd be forever happy! The OG controls drive me nuts sometimes, so I hope that's something they fix. And if we can play the other characters story as in previous remakes, we can learn more about Steve and where he was when he wasn't with Claire. OR if we get any answers on Steve's death cliffhanger. And I definitely hope it would be a longer game than RE3remake was..
Code Veronica would be the far better choice to release right now because RE5 literally needs to be remade from the ground up since its a garbage game on top of "decent" online play. RE5's biggest problems that need changing are as follows..... 1.its location "Africa? are you fucking serious? wtf happened to the Umbrella HQ in Europe? 2.Turn Wesker into a proper antagonist instead of a awkward goof ball. He is the poster villain for the series after all do him better.
It would be cool if they could take some risks and reorder events a bit such that at some point, you have Claire, Steve, AND Chris all as selectable characters, for long segments of the game. Could be fun for replay value. I know you'd have to change elements of the story, or at least restructure the order of the events, to make this happen.
@@Sosagis Fair points, and I agree that the RE4R Luis was much better than the original. But... *relatively* speaking, I think the original Luis is still vastly better than Steve... because, Steve.
We will definitly get a code veronica remake in the future but it will see the light over a couple of years i guess...i really wanna to see Claire again and slashing zombies/monsters with her once again!!

Hope to put my hands on a Remake from Code Veronica... First Playtrought was back in the days on a Dreamcast geez... been a while now...
I honestly think that RE4 did not need a remake, nor does Resi 5. But Code Veronica definitely needs a remake, as does Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve for that matter.
Resident evil 5 needs to happen that game and story line seem rushed and unfinished
@@DiaperSNiFFER well, if its done right, sure, I just hope they don't do another RE3 type remake and cut stuff and change stuff in dodgy ways.
No game really deserves a remake, its just good to see a remake being just as good or better than the original
@@danielpeckham5520 that you got a point 👌 like people wanna see it and they buy. Like why do they cut content !?
If this person really did a playtest for this game they signed an NDA, if they really are spilling the beans then they are in serious trouble from a legal standpoint.
Only if they can figure out who it was.
@@heh2k Capcoms lawyers are vigilant, trust me.
I really really REALLY hope that they make a Code Veronica remake
❤❤❤
No. It sucked. Doesnt deserve one
In any event I think lessons were learned from 3 all around.
kind of makes it sound like resi 4 is is leons playthough A and Code veronica is Claires Playthough B if they were connected.
so much is missing from the current generations 'remake' branding i now cautiously poke these games with a stick before opening a wallet. The first question in my mind is always [what is hitting the cutting room floor **THIS** time] and what excuse are they going to pull to justify it. Yelling go play the original isnt exactly holding water these days.
Yeah, and I guarantee that this shot (0:57) won't be in the remake.
@@Rocket1377Well this wasn't in the OG anyway.
So if they did do this... The possibility of a perfected Rebecca/Billy character swapping is pretty cool, but instill want extended single player sections.
Praying we get a Code Veronica remake
CV makes more sense than RE5. But I´d hope after this new "remake" Capcom focuses more in new iterations, maybe new franchises or perhaps change the trend to Dino Crisis.
I would love to see an Outbreak remake or something similar to it!
I’m excited by it, but I’m still holding out for Outbreak!
Interesting ideas so I hope it's real. This was one of my favorite Resident Evil games back in the day.
Steve was my favorite character in code x. Playing as him would be amazing!
Steve was a whiny b*tch
😐
If they do a remake ,I hope Capcom explore more the south pacific potentially tropical environment of Rockfort Island
Steve is one of the few characters that would actually benefit from a Capcom reworking lol
it SHOULD be remade. for one, they remade 2 and 3 so storywise it makes sense to do CV and finish the story off (especially for new players coming in on the re2r). Secondly, it needs one. it needed one more than 4 and 5. and lastly, Claire Chris and Wesker. enough said. capcom do it!
Yeah, it needs to be remade. It wouldn't make sense to release RE5 first, since the story of CV leads directly into 5.
Yesssss code Veronica should be next capcom it will be the best option for the company and the people as well Resident evil 5 remake should be when the PlayStation 6
I'm excited to see young Chris and Claire together ❤
When i was 5 years old i first played resident evil 2 with leon & i was so scared i had to put the volume down to 0 and couldnt even get to kendos gun shop.
Years later when i got code Veronica i still put the volume on 0 but i was a little older and felt brave enough to push foward,
It was the first resident evil game to get me excited to play a survival horror & finish the game & the ones before it since then ive bought every single resident evil game and remake.
With code Veronica remake best believe im so hype and excited to experience the game that got me in to Biohazard
Aww, shoot. It’s Bandersnatch time! 😅
If true, sounds awesome. All great ideas for a potential remake.
Feels like dejavu. Would be awesome to see even some of this come to fruition! Thought you were going to say Steve's special ability was complaining like no other!
My daddy was mean to me waaaaaah
Steve is the worst.
Really hope they do a remake of this game
I would certainly like to see a new Code:V, and I agree that the initial raid would be a good intro section.
Not too sure about the swapping characters mechanic, might be better to have Steve as a separate ways character.
I feel the Nosferatu boss fight could be very interesting with some modern gameplay mechanics.
I hope they give Claire auburn hair the way they gave Leon blond hair compared to the RE2Remake giving them both brown hair, erroneously.
I've been hoping, like many others, that Code Veronica would get the remake finally and I hope it does. Side note the character strengths/skills is super cool.
I hope ! It's 10000000000000000x better than RE4 and RE5.
I disagree, but i understand your opnion
If these rumors are true and you can choose between the characters. Could a code veronica remake have multiplayer? Even though this is all rumors its getting me hyped.
Wasn't Code Veronica second to RE4 when Capcom did a "Remake" survey a few years back? I know after RE3 remake, Capcom did one.
The games have all had some sort of beta asset for what game came next, the ashley knight corridor in RE4 and even that blue emblem just screamed Code Veronica
They need to remake RE:ORC faithfully > Veronica > Outbreak, because in truth RE: ORC was the best multiplayer game Capcom made, and there’s tons of people playing on Xbox still
I am really hoping it turns out to be True. CVX was my very first RE game so am quite excited for a remake 😄
Manifesting every day for a cvx remake ~ it most definitely deserves one and the story is crucial for the upcoming re5 remake.
i heard about this.. and it would be cool, but a lot of people are been saying it was debunked as fake
I'm Moist
Bruh😅😅
I want the tiger statue puzzle changed in accordance with that of RE1make. It's the reason I never touched that game again after the one time I rented it, nor any of its long-awaited follow-ups.
I hope we get a CV remake.
Just my opinion, Code Veronica is the most underrated RE game. I hope this is true, might have to get a PS5 at last if it is.
Code Veronica better be next. I love this one with a passion. It got me through some hard times.
Really hope this is next
Wesker was the coolest character in the Resident Evil Saga, it was one of Capcom's biggest mistakes to have killed him in Resident Evil 5, in RE5 with his superpowers and super speed, it made him an even cooler villain, even more so with that cloak he uses in RE5 immortalized how badass he is.
Furthermore, Wesker is part of the original S.T.A.R.S group, so he should be that unreachable enemy in the game, who always appears every 2 games in the franchise just to apply a concealer to the games' protagonists, as he did with Chris in Code Veronica.
RE5 was intended to be the final game in the series, that's why they killed him off.
I need this, Its the only RE game I never finished. I always got stuck on the plane without enough ammo. lol
It's the REmake we need, it's the game that needs the RE engine makeover the most tbh
Can't wait!
Yes I would love a RE Code Veronica Remake one of my favorite games
I mean I really really hope this is real CV is one of my favorite. Even if they already use one thing from CV on re4 I wonder 🤔
I can't wait for Code Veronica!
I also would love to see 0 and 1 remakes come to PS4 as well!
Ps4? Lol PS5 has been out for years.
Capcom mentioned they expect a hit in 2024. I think it’s either Dino Crisis Remake or Code Veronica X
Code Veronica is a great potential for a great Remake..We are waiting for it with bated breath ❤ do it capcom
Code Veronica is the only title I think needs a remake. The backtracking and map layout is an aspect I thought could have been improved upon, and enemy variety is lacking. The rest of the titles were perfectly fine.
Zero needs a remake as well. Some of the gameplay elements in that are frustrating, making it a chore to complete.
Im in love with remake claire so im excited. I seem like the only one who likes new claire 😍
haha get in line, buddy!
You are definitely not the only one.
Sounds a lot of RE0 mechanics with the character switching/proficiencies. If true, it would be definitely be interesting to see them making a return
My idea was that it either went like:
- the original where you play as Claire for half the game then Chris the second half.
"More action" that's the reason why Resident Evil went off the deep end with 4 in the first place...
@@The_Phoenix_SagaNo, bad game design did that, re4 is perfect
But eight games in and having established a certain way of doing things, is not something to be just abandoned because people were whining "Tank contwols are too harrrrd..."
4 and onward as I said previously would have worked much better as IPs of their own, but instead they had to become the cheap alternative ripoffs of an established brand.
Sounds like too much of a departure if Steve is playing a similar role to Billy Coen. We shall see if it’s true or not
I would love a remake
A remake of Code Veronica would be badass! I played it back in the day on the Dreamcast and at the time I was blown away by the graphics
Code Veronica has so many rememberable moments and Steve is one of those characters the player falls in love with. That leaves us shocked!!!Another remake would be great is bring back Billy. Either way I’m excited for a code Veronica remake.
Code Veronica is the only resident evil I never beat. It was quite difficult but I still enjoyed it.
Code Veronica is the true RE4! It deserves a remake more than anything after 1, 2 and 3!
Yea i jated re4 tbh i didnt bother buying its remake..
with how diabolical they made cheif irons and Annette in the remake, it will be so interesting how they portray Alfred and Alexa. Not to mention Steve,
I hope we get a more impactful depiction of Steve and his strife on the island, and the father reveal.
Dude!!! I hope this is true
Hell Yeah!!!!🧟🧟 I would absolutely love to see a Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake soon
Would love to see Code Veronica remake.
How have leaks like this turned out before? What's the confidence % here?
Hell yes! My body is READY
I know you'd have to change elements of the story, or at least restructure the order of the events, to make this happen.
who the hell would want to play as Steve though
@@Sosagis Fair points, and I agree that the RE4R Luis was much better than the original. But... *relatively* speaking, I think the original Luis is still vastly better than Steve... because, Steve.
@@Sosagis This is the Way!!!!!!
We will definitly get a code veronica remake in the future but it will see the light over a couple of years i guess...i really wanna to see Claire again and slashing zombies/monsters with her once again!!
