    As a welder and somebody who knows about welding that is not hard to fix and I don't even think you would have to pull the motor out and that doesn't look too bad so picky bastards y'all are tripping

    • @dickoR33

      Lorenzo Spurlock you're right the motor can stay in me and my dad repaired both mine and his last year. We did not bother to fill over the weld lines because 1.who cares as long as it's solid. 2.if it's filled it could be anything under there or even just filler as some are lol.

    GT-R variants specifically, are made to be driven, but!! Must be taken care of too! These are not ordinary JDM sportscars, these are icons and legends. Japanese motorsports history is rich as it is because of the GT-R bloodline. Getting banned to compete, changing grp A rule books, lap records, winningest car line in JGTC/Super GT, fastest AWD, etc. etc. are just part of its outstanding resume that other sporstcars can only dream of.

    A lot of these skylines were modified in the late90’s and early 00’s big bodykits, airfilters, exhausts. Etc the norm for that era and now that their value is rising and lack of them being around most of them are being returned to stock so to find one in great condition for a good price is hard, also it’s hard to know what kind of life it had as most went of the radar and weren’t documented right, some cars weren’t driven for years and some went through multiple specs, rust was also a killer for neglected cars and not all tuners were doing these cars justice. Many GTR’s need a full restoration now and issues like the strut towers is minor due to other issues you’ll find with these great cars.

    I see your honesty and I commend you for it. Honestly knowing those strut towers have the problem, and most people don't, they would sell to anyone because people are just unaware of it. Honestly would've still have you buy it if it was me though, the welding job didn't look bad. For all you know, the welding could have been done 10 years ago and held up better than the stock chassis by itself. But that's just on me. Also, a grinder to those weld lines and a repaint, wouldn't even be able to tell the difference.

  • @Tick25
    @Tick25 6 років тому +4

    I dont care about rust honestly as long as its safe to drive and the car runs and performs good it doesn't matter to me and if it becomes a problem then I'll repair it.

    Alot of 32's, 33's and 34's from GT too GTR in Australia that get modifications get a strut towers graphed from an S14 or S15 it's by no means a factory look infact it looks like it's a purpose built chassis for racing most of the time.

      I noticed this too. The seats in an S3 should be red, not blue. That said, this does seem to have an S3 ABS actuator (see also the comparison on r33gt-r.com). Maybe this car is actually a very late S2, or the seats have been replaced? Either way, something is weird.

    I don't see how anyone can tell what the weld quality is with the paint and all that seam sealer smeared over the welds. I wonder if this guy is looking at the seam sealer and thinking that is the weld. As long as the rust is gone and the panels are sealed and the welds are strong, then it is fine. Quality and function over beauty wins.
