Final Fantasy X Remaster (PS4) | A Modern Final Fantasy I enjoyed!

- Kinda crazy to go back and revisit my first Final Fantasy game that made me kind of resent the series. Here are my thoughts! Enjoy! Also Blitzball sucks. But hey, this is my favorite modern Final Fantasy!
"Final Fantasy X tells the story of Tidus, a star blitzball player who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace known as “Sin”."

The theme is what I loved about Final Fantasy. Not all fantasy genres have to have the European medieval theme. The Southeast Asian beach with some Japanese aesthetics is to me by far the best theme the Final Fantasy genre ever tackled.
My personal favourite Final Fantasy game. Not only do I still have my original PS2 copy of the game but I got it signed by the voice actors of Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri and Rikku.
Itsa a great game! And super dope you got the voice actors to sign it!!
Nice! When / where/how did you get it signed!?
@@BikersandBags at a couple of Comic Cons. I’m going to try and get Yunas this year.
OMG, I laughed out loud when you said he sounded like Winnie the Pooh 😂😂😂😂
@@MTTT19 What happened?
Yeah, one thing I always loved about this game was that I could inflict status effects on bosses. Spoiler alert for the final boss: It casts heal on itself for like 9999 hp every turn or something, so I cast "Zombie" on it and it caused it to inflict itself with 9999 damage every turn instead. 😆
What a fantastic day for Khimari-slander
Might want to learn what a "foil" is..
@@Ponaru I'm not sure that I'm using that term incorrectly if you'd like to elaborate. Foils use contrasting personalities and values to highlight each other's individual attributes. From the get-go, Tidus and Yuna come from similar yet incredibly estranged backgrounds, this is part of what fuels their personal journeys. Tidus is loud, brash, whiny, and holds a disregard for general authority figures, especially and including his own father. A lot of the early parts of FFX involve Tidus' values clashing with the ways that Spira has developed, he's the outside lens that we interact with the world through, and whose perspective ultimately allows Spira to end it's eternal cycle. Yuna, by contrast has been raised to be soft-spoken, demure, and slavishly devoted to the expectations that others have placed on her as a result of the veneration of her father. Yuna's self-sacrificing dedication to the happiness of others contrasts against the more selfish and self-serving needs of Tidus who emphasizes the values of the individual in opposition of societal expectation.
Through Yuna, we see the pinnacle of what Spira asks of its Summoners, and ultimately what Yevon asks of its people. Ultimate complacency and blind faith in the systems that govern, not for sake of a true ending, but for the prospering of a brief respite from the pains of the world, perpetuated *by* those in power for their own convenience. Yuna has been raised in a system that values the collective over the individual, and her dedication to others and her compassion for the kinds of people (Like Jecht) who Tidus disavows, gives her a level of emotional intelligence and perspective that helps Tidus to find a purpose beyond himself, and helps him to reframe his relationship with his father.
Through Tidus, we see the complete antithesis to the status Quo. He has no respect for the ways things are done, and will barrel forth of his own volition if and when it suits him. The Summoner may be in danger, so he goes to help, even when the people responsible tell him he can't. Tidus questions the nature of the world itself in ways that Spira's inhabitants never had, and through his interactions with Yuna, we see how his willingness to break the mold reflects on and changes her.
Reverence vs Resentment, Tradition vs Innovation, Collective vs Individual, These are all ways in which the two's perspectives clash with each other, without either really being presented as wholly wrong. They reflect off of each other in ways that makes sense for each of them, and in ways that ultimately brings them together by virtue of their differing lived experiences.
Feel free to correct me if I'm still misattributing the term, but I don't think I'm as far off the mark as you seem to think.
The laughing scene is honestly brilliant.
I know! Laughing scene is fantastic and makes sense if you've actually been paying attention to the game at all.
I so wanted to like Khimari originally. He’s a blue mage and dragoon but just fails at everything
Oh man the soundtrack for this game is beyond words for me, think it was the last game Nubuo did before leaving sqaure enix and what a send off, learned piano just so I could play these pieces.
Nobuo still makes ff music though right?
@@GameTimeWhy mostly main themes or arrangements but he does. Just not every single song
HOLY SMOKES!! I've been watching your reviews for around 5 years now, and this has got to be my favorite one so far!
The humor was on a whole other level this time - the pain of winning that first Blitzball Match (I've done this before, and also vowed to NEVER do it again), Tai-dus sounding more 'correct' than Tee-dus does (the guy's goofy enough already, you know?), and especially Seymour's voice sounding like Winnie the Pooh! LOL. I never noticed that before, but you're absolutely right!
In addition to the superb humor, this video also got me right in the feels... Sure, some of it is because I haven't played FFX in about a decade, but a lot of it was the way you edited this vid - you knew exactly when to place certain music tracks, and it really made this one 'pop'!
It's rare that something I watch will give me tears of laughter, OR tears of nostalgia - this review gave me both! Thank you so much, Lady Pelvic - I'd say you definitely 'Leveled Up' as a content creator, as a gaming journalist, and as a writer recently~
I played FFX for the first time as an adult with no nostalgia and loved it. Glad to see you’ve found some enjoyment in it! It’s a pretty special game.
Ahh I'm glad you loved it too! It's very special
I loved the concept of Blitzball and FF mini game being an actual sports team but maaaan did it leave me wanting so much more
My best final fantasy

Just the review I've been waiting a couple years for since that live on Instagram. Great video Lady Pelvic.
So great to see you returning to make a new video. I’ve never send you anything so let me introduce myself. I’m French and I watch your content since some years now. I love what you do and most of all I like the personality you put in it and the will you have to be as objective as possible. I was afraid after your last video you would never do it again. I cannot thank you enough to get back to it. I want you to know you are valuable for some of us. Again, thank you and I really hope to see some new content when you will have time of course. Can I suggest you review Vagrant Story or Jade Cocoon on ps1? I already did. Thanks for everything you’ve done for us. It’s refreshing and great! Take care! (and please excuse my poor English and excuse my French!)
Hello Joseph! Thank you so much for supporting my content for all these years!! No, no, it's not my last just know I have plenty of videos stockpiled up! I was preparing for Legend of Zelda cause I feel like I'll be in that game for a HOT minute so I didn't want to have to worry about putting out videos rest assured I got about 4 videos in the bank!!
As for Vagrant Story... the gameplay kills me.
Also your English is great!! :D
The fact that something like this came out in 2001
I almost forgot how much I enjoy your reviews! Keep them coming!
SAME. I played this game as a kid and couldn't beat it, and came back as an adult with vengeance and beat it down (all celestial weapons). I also call him TIDE-us because it just is better and also goes with the whole ocean theme (tides?). Bless your heart for doing the blitzball thing - I always hated it and was so happy it's optional.
I played Blitzball exactly once before I broke out the walkthrough lmao. Excellent and direct review, much appreciated 👍🏽
Great review, Lady P. And yes, I agree with your FF X sentiments. I'm looking forward to seeing if Square actually has the balls to make a FF X-3. Also....FINALLY SOMEONE PRONOUNCES "TIDUS" correctly!!!!
I prefer the incorrect version cause I think of tidal waves

Have I told how much I love your reviews, today? Hahaha, this one was a blast, glad to hear you like it a lil better nowadays... but... why is 6 the second-to-last on your list? 😭
There are only two answers, 6 or 9, but whatever the pick they should be holding hands near the top, that's law, girl! Lol!
Much love, Pel-Pel, see you next vid-... DUUH, DA-DAA-DAAAHHH, DUUH, DUUH, DAAAAHHHHH!!!

It was great hearing this review LP! FFX is my favorite JRPG of all time for me. You heard that right. I played the PS2 version back in 2010. I was immediately sucked into the world. I was Titus! I wanted to know what happened. Where I was. What to do. Etc. I was lost, just like Titus was. And that connection I had to him was quickly unbreakable not far into the game. The world pulled me in and I loved it. The music has some tracks that ranks up there of best JRPG music of all time for me. I made ring tones of the normal battle and boss battle music of this game and still today I use them with my phone alternating between the two. And I was very much addicted to the story. I felt bad for Yuna but understood the situation. And the revel about what happened to Titus? Wow! But what really put this game over the top for me was the very emotional scene with Titus and Yuna in the lake at night. I got tears in my eyes. The ONLY video game that has managed to do this to me. The only one! No other JRPG scene in history that I have ever played has done that to me. Ever! That scene in the lake seriously gets me every time. I used Kamari. I just took his sphere grid the same route as Auron and he became pretty useful on that route. Lulu is an ok mage but yeah I agree, she is overrated. I’m really glad you gave this game a chance again. Especially since I cherished every moment of it more then a decade ago. I look back very fondly at my experience with it.
I'm technically old enough to have played the first Final Fantasy as a child 😅 I think the first one I actually played was IV though, back when they called it 2. When X came out, I absolutely LOVED it. I thought it was the greatest thing ever made. Tried to play it again several times over the last 10 years or so and just . . . couldn't. Though I still think it's a good game.
IV was my first as well and X was a slog for me as well but there is something compelling about it, especially towards the end. Not so much the church/state stuff but the father-son relationship (again hurt by the dub and character models but not much)
I went to martial arts with this girl! Awesome! Congrats girl on all the views!
I’m stuck on the final boss now too. Can’t get past the phase where Sin has 140,000 HP and you have about 10 turns before he does his game ending Overdrive.
This is one of my favorite games, where it’s one of the things that made me fall in love with games as a medium.
I really appreciate your honest review of it. It’s really cool hearing the perspective of someone who initially really disliked the game.
I also don’t like the normal battle theme very much 😂
Good to see you again!
Thank you! ^_^
I really enjoyed revisiting this game on the switch. 200hrs pushing to max out sphere grids and celestial weapons. Was fun diving back in to complete the stuff I skipped first time around. Dark aeons and penance. I felt bad ass.
Oh I didn't touch the dark aeons! They scared me hahaha.
I was kinda okay with Tidus' attitude in the early game.
Imagine if YOU got swept away into this luddite world that follows some strange religion you know nothing about, and a giant monster randomly shows up and kills everyone.
Let's see who here would handle that ANY BETTER than he did!
What calmed him down is he quickly found a surrogate family he never had. Auron became like a father to him, Wakka and Lulu like a big brother and sister, Rikku like a little sister, he fell in love with Yuna, and Kimahri as, I dunno, the dog? The Chewbacca-like sidekick/bodyguard?
3:00 And that's one of the reasons I like Yuna in X-2. She breaks out of that and lives her life unapologetically on her own terms.
I like to pretend that that Audio Drama doesn't exist. I didn't think I would like FFX2, but they add the international content in the remaster. It gets grindy but interesting.
I completly lost it when you said Seymour was "fine as fuck" 🤣🤣
Intersting taste
I like what I like what can I say? Haha
I can relate with Blitzball. Unlike your playthrough, I was able to clear it after more or less than 2.5 hours trying to get that win through sheer luck (3-2). I'm a bit glad that you didn't bother to test your sanity and try to obtain all the Final weapons via the mini games. I couldn't do Thunder Plains either, let alone the other ones. I had trouble with the ability system on the weapons too. Besaid theme is also my favorite.
I wonder if you plan on playing Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, was it called?
Final Fantasy XIV is one of the best.
I thought Final Fantasy X was 'peak' Final Fantasy myself. A truly great new FF title hasn't been a thing for 20+ years.
Sadly not..
@@PelvicGaming But Suikoden 2 remaster and Eiyuden Chronicle later this year means it won't matter! ;)
@@jaretco6423 "apex" then. I do think FF6 was the best.
I haven't actually played this one; I watched my significant other play this, and as soon as I saw the fight with the chocobo eater, I was like, "This ain't Final Fantasy; this is Wario Ware with hair gel; ain't havin' it!" That was before dodging lightning, where there was this absolute cartoon moment, where you hear F- and all the birds scatter from the trees; I'd had my music up pretty loud ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR, and I couldn't hear it over that swear. Don't even mention the chasing butterflies to her...
That all said, I think you've inspired me to at least check out the soundtrack; I really like what I heard here. If you're into that, you might like the Anodyne 2 soundtrack; it's very chill overall, too, and reminds me a little of what was in this video.
B-B-B-BLITZBAAAAALL. I did the same thing, perfection or bust I had to. (genuinely winning that first match is super fricking tight it's rediculous) Although, I love how it reinforces how discombobulated in the avenue of time this game is, that you get to be a part of the story through multiple playthroughs in a way, understanding Tide-us (no tee he here) just that little bit more.
Uggh now u cant unhear the Winnie the Pooh lmao!!! Great review, this and III are the only real final fantasies i havent finished!
I LOVE how you called out the battle theme. im usually just fine with battle music interrupting soothing area tracks, but something about FFX's transition thats so jarring and i hate it
Pelvic, loving your FF reviews. Didn’t know you haven’t played FF7 yet.
FF7 is my favorite game ever. If you get a chance, do a review of it.
Don’t care if you trash the game. Would love to hear your thoughts of it.
I liked the story's depth, that was pretty cool
Exactly Tidus pronunced the tide!
But Teedus as in tedious is also apt!
Oh the restart the music after combat in later versions? I loved the way PS2 handled it.
I've always liked Kimahri. His overdrives are really cool and I love the freedom you get on the sphere grid with him. I always started him down Wakka's, then swung into Lulu's area to get the tier 3 elemental spells way before her.
I like to take him from Wakka to Auron. His weapons often have piercing and having two hard hitters doesn't hurt. Though starting him with Rikku's path to pick up Steal isn't terrible, just don't have him go far down it. Rikku's stat growth is just not great for him.
Welcome back Lady P. I see youre rocking the blue lipstick for your favorite character Kimahri. 😂
Also, Blitzball isnt that bad. If you have Jecht Shot, its insanely easy. Especially once you start building a decent team.
Whats GOOD! Ah I remember when I was younger and my game disc would freeze when Anima was summoned in Luca. Took me years to finally give it a proper playthough and it was worth the wait. Still my favorite Final Fantasy Game, Music, and Cast.
Glad to see you back! Also I’m assuming this was made a while ago based on the background posters lol
Hurry! (the track that plays in the background of your plot summary) is my favourite track in all of Final Fantasy.
5:52 I like how you pronounce the word "Tedious"
Lol The "Last Good" Final Fantasy cracks me up 🤣
Here's a tip: next time you start a game and get to blitzball, look up players with a catch stat that doesn't suck and replace Keepa with that NPC. You'll have a much better time. Also, play manual. Like FFXIII, auto mode sucks. Finally, you can cheese the game in manual mode by hiding inside the goal after getting at least one point in the lead. It flummoxes the ai until time runs out.
I love this game to death. Favorite FF game
X is a masterpiece and the last good final fantasy is XII , about 13 and 15 disappointing , 14 also is a masterpiece
FFxiv really is a masterpiece, glad to see someone acknowledge it !!
The second half of FFXV was a disaster and a disappointment, but I'll take that game over X any day. X and XIII were the worst, IMO.
I think FFX came out and an important time for me and I remember it more fondly the older I get.
They fixed the music restarting bug a long time ago. You need to update it with the patch.
Good vid. Keep up the great work.
I pronounce Tidus name the same as you haha. Also it is my favourite FF game. Not only that, I couldn’t finish the final boss either on the PS2 lol. Only difference is I still enjoyed the game even though I never did finish the PS2 one. Probably because this is the game they got me more into gaming and being able to see where the future of gaming is, like with the voice acting, the world, the storytelling, I loved the sphere grid, and much more. This game remained my second most played game till this day, the first is the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Loved the review. I agree that FFX is the last FF game that I sort of liked (not counting the MMOs). I basically consider it the beginning of the end, namely with the removal of the world map and starting the hallway map design trend. Every game after has been mediocre at best, including FF7R imo. Nowadays it feels like SE is ashamed of their roots and is trying to make FF have greater mass appeal by ditching more and more RPG elements which just leaves us with so-so action games. Yakuza: LAD showed up that a series can successfully switch genres, but is an uphill battle and I don't have a lot of faith in SE remaining.
What amazes me the most is the pass FF gets from its name alone. For example, FF15 was a blatantly unfinished game before dlc. After all the DLC (which took years), it wasn't much better, but if you check the metacritic you wouldn't assume that. I'm hopeful for FF16, but deep down I feel that it looks like more spectacle over gameplay.
That isn't really accurate they still follow the old formula with games like Bravery Default, Live A Live & Octopath. The series has to evolve and that involves making the most of new technology, taking risk & being a trendsetter for the genre. 10-12 were a breath of fresh air & even 13 had some qualities I'd put over the old games such as vocals in the ost & it's more real time action elements in turn based combat.
@@jaretco6423 Like I said before evolution comes with risk. Never said it was better just eventual & necessary. Also I disagree with u on 12 I enjoyed it and its generally well received by reviewers and fans. As for 13 and it's sequels I gotta break down a few things u said about it that's horribly inaccurate. 13 isn't a great game but to some it is and I can say the graphics, ost, combat, customization & mythology is it's strong points but the way they went about the linearity unlike 10 was bad. Personally I enjoyed 13 as it was like a cenimatic arcade RPG which is the best I can describe it.
As for the sequels apparently u never played them because their nothing like FFX. 13-2 isn't linear and is more stage based than linear map. You can back track and find areas and events that open more new areas or alternative versions of an already unlocked stage. 13-3 is a literary full world Map but not on the same scale as FF15. They have literary nothing in common to FFX.
@CruiseHrchill617 I don't see how it isn't accurate, I said that a series can change genres, just that FF hasn't done a very good job with it. Like I mentioned, no one was too upset with Yakuza becoming an rpg because Like a Dragon was actually good. But you can't take the most famous jrpg and expect old fans to love a very different direction, especially if those new entries are middling at best. I agree that games need to innovate, but all long-running series do that, and very few have changed genres to do so.
Bravely Default and Octopath are fine, but they are low-budget games and are not where they are putting their effort. Live a Live originally released in 1994, so I'm not sure how that helps.
Another great vid. Unlike you I did love this game growing up but I’ve been playing Final Fantasy since 92. I often still listen to the soundtrack. But given that you cannot skip cutscenes even in the PS4 port I probably won’t ever play it again.
X was my first FF.
Have you ever played Trails of Cold Steel? Seems like it would be up your alley. imo it is *the* JRPG hidden gem of the PS3/early PS4 generation
I have been re-playing the remaster on PS5. Just beat catcher chocobo 😂 next is the lightning challenge.
X is a masterpiece. My hands were trembling with excitement when it came out in the ps2. Most excited I was for a game as a kid along with MGS2. A final fantasy….with voices!
X legitimately has one of the best stories of the series. The themes of the dangers of devout religion, sacrifice, bad parenting and redemption.
Tidus is the main character, but Yuna is the hero. You can't change my mind on this point.
"...except Khimari because no one uses him." Actually laugh out loud.
Thanks!
Thank YOU
Great review!! Also Team Tidus as opposed to calling him Tidus here.
I hated Khimari when I played FFX as a teenager , but I went back and played it again recently I liked him a lot more. Between him, Auron, and Wakka I would say it's my favorite FF cast. The music also slaps (especially the prelude music).
I remember his monster abilities were particularly useful
I don't want to be that guy, but I was really hoping for a Suikoden V video... : P
I'd love to hear her opinion on that as well. It was hard for me to get through personally.
Since you sort of invite this with the thumbnail, here's my opinion on the later FF games.
XI: An interesting experiment. I enjoyed it when I played it, but I wouldn't expect MMO fans to really enjoy it.
XII: Honestly, I hate Vaan with a passion. And I'm not a fan of the combat/Gambit system. Mostly because you have to buy Gambit commands.
XIII: A beautiful game. A confusing story. Characters that can be hard to love. A combat system that has its boons, but also a lot of cons.
XIV: One of the worst MMOs turned into one of the best.
XV: Why does magic hurt your allies by default? This is stupid and literally nerfs magic harder than the junction system in VIII did. Otherwise, it's mediocre in a lot of ways. But pretty. And the open world aspect was neat.
Tee-diss is actually how it’s pronounced though I know this through reviews same way I found out Aires was a translation error in 7
Welcome back, LP! I'm glad you've played and beaten so many FF games. I hope one day you give "FF VII Remake" a chance. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it one day.
Love the lipstick color 🤩
Thank you!
"The only people that like Khimari are furries." You know... it hurts that you're right.
Also in terms of games that I hold some weird passive disgust towards despite how good it is... Dark Souls 1. Like yeah, it's good, but also like, taken aback every time someone says "Yeah, that game is amazing!"
I gotta say final fantasy XII is the last great one. I didn't mind 15 but the weird road trip aesthetic didn't work.
dope channel just subbed 😎🔥
i gave up on this game when i played it on ps2 then i got it again on ps vita still playing it 😂 fun game !
I played the ps2 version. But never finished it.
Got to some area i think started with "moon"
And never loaded the game again.
I also despise blitz ball.
And suffered that first game until i won. Because i wanted to win badly and see if their was a reward for it.
Other than wakka winning.
I sont think there was.
It actually got even more annoying in x2. Becuase you do not control anything other than who is playing..100% specator.
Slow game and you lost based on stats.
It ia very frustrating.
Beside that however. U love X2.
I love playing as female characters and the dress speres were an exciting mechanic.
I must say I enjoyed your video I played this game when I was 20 or 19 you should do a ffx 2 video oh your lipstick is awesome and you know how to make people laugh I'm actually trying to platinum the HD collection
8 years later i'm still simping Ms Pelvic
She said Seymour sounds like Winnie the Pooh😂🤣🤣!!! That actually made me laugh
Yay! New video.
It's the last good Final Fantasy that doesn't have strings attached to it's quality. There are things to love in 12,13 and 15 but they each come with massively huge caveats and flaws.
FF10 is just great, no "but"s about it.
Ia. I do love the world, the exploration, dialogue quality of FFXII... but I didn't care about the characters or the story that much tbh.
@@lookhowshegobbledthat it was like an mmo
15 is the biggest tragedy of them all. It has a BEAUTIFUL story. That you don't get if you only play the base game. In order to experience it all you have to (not necessarily in this order): A) Play the DLCS, B) Watch the movie, C) Watch the anime, and D) Something else too maybe? Fuck, I forgot.
@@magicalpj a gamer shouldn't have to watch a movie or anime this coming from someone who likes kingsglaive
@@johnlawful2272 Exactly. That's why it's such a tragedy that they went about it that way.
You didn’t like 15 with the boy band road trip? I loved it
I didn't play it cause...it seems so BIG. Just HUGE worlds aren't my thing anymore with *few* exceptions (Zelda/Xenoblade).
@@PelvicGaming it’s very much a road trip simulator with magic so idk if that would help or not but while there is size to it all the people and quest givers are in locations like pit stops you would see on a trip. Idk if that makes a difference.
How long did it take you to beat the game?? Wondering if I have enough time to finish it before Tears of the Kingdom comes out.
😂 that orchestrated battle theme is going crazy but it do pop up like norton tho.
After my numerous playthroughs of every edition, my wife kinda banned me from playing this again lol.
I laughed when you showed the Thunder Plains theme and then loud thunder sound! I also had the same feeling as you- playing the game I’m high school and not liking it and then trying it as adult… yeah I don’t like it 😅
A couple of notes:
-The PS4 version has an update that fixed the music looping issue; you mustn’t have updated the ISO!
-Tidus isn’t actually transported 1000 years into the future; his Zanarkand and it’s inhabitants are essentially a giant Aeon on top of Mt Gagazet
Well last everyone agrees great final fantasy main number entry for awhile for single player entries hoping that changes for 16 I love 15, and 12 and 13 is a guilty pleasure for me. Most final fantasy after ten people are spilt I like most of them. I will be playing some of the older ones soon like 6 and the original thanks to the pixel remasters
I also couldn’t beat the final boss! And FF9 is my all time favorite. I learned that grinding is essential to FF games. It was a tough lesson 😂
Hate admitting this knowing the hours you went through... beat the blitzball match in 1 try .3.
I SUCK
@Pelvic Gaming Don't worry, I played FFX when it was released, and I sucked at blitz ball every time I replay it :p
It's harder if you don't have the Jecht Shot at that point since it's optional.
The easiest way to win at blitzball is to score 1 goal and then spend the rest of the game standing in your own goal. The defense will never chase you and you can just run the time out while you play on your phone
I can agree this was the last great FF game.
12 did a lot of really cool things. it feels like the limit break system left a lot to be desired. It was just a bunch of fireworks honestly. The main character just wasnt cool. Reks was cool but lets get rid if him asap. The story wasnt the most engaging either. The open world was really cool though. The battle system had a lot of good things going for it. Kinda ff tactics esk
It feels like a couple tweaks couldve made it much better game
Ah yes. "Teedus". The "Tide" is silent. Obviously. As traditionally pronounced by the rules of the absolutely not elemental FF main character nomenclature. Standing strong next to the likes of "Clawdee", "Tearah", "Awhshee", "Skwale", and "Li'Geetning".
I could not get into this game back when I bought it on 2003. I actually rushed through FF9 in a week so I could play this (I wanted to beat the PS FFs in order first), I played this for like 20 mins and was like 'nah'. I'm gonna give it a try again, it was on sale on Steam so I just picked it up.
To rush through the BEST FINAL FANTASY for this game??? You wound me sir. The fact you only played it for 20 minutes lmfao.
I have a funny story regarding FFX. I didn't like it that much when it first came on the PS2, found it a bit cringe yadda yadda. Years later when the HD Remaster is out I buy it "ironically", y'know as a joke, and wouldn't you know it I end up having a terrific time. Something about it's linear pacing and character driven story really hit a sweet spot, maybe at that point I was burned out from all the open world Bethesda style RPGs
I have mixed feelings with 10, I remember playing it when it was new on the PS2 after Toonami gave it a pretty glowing review and I've been a fan since 8 as I had at that time played through most of the other games on the PS1 and the older ones. I remember disliking the Sphere Grid level-up system as I was so used to stats and abilities being learned mostly automatically in most RPGs as I was forced to remember to pause the game and do the Sphere Grid thing manually... Also lack of freely exploring the world as most, if not all of the maps were in hindsight, the prototype of FF13's dull linear corridors. Music's still fantastic, being Nobuo Uematsu's final core FF game he worked on.
Perhaps one day I'll get the remaster on Switch to give it another shot and to complete my personal collection of FF games I enjoyed before most modern games from 11-onward kinda made me drop off from the franchise
B-but... I'm Captain Basch fon Rosenburg... from Dalmasca... ):
I forgot about this lady...I saw her on YT years ago and its nice to see she's going strong.
I've never heard an opinion on FFX quite as yours, interesting.
I love this game, mainly due to it being the first one I ever played. Never liked the blitzball mini game.
aye thats mean i love the big bule renso

You are literally the first person I thought of when she made that comment
Should this be my first FF I think I only played ps2 ps3 ones.. I heard this one the best?
Most would say this is a great starting point, new comer friendly and all that.
Personally, ff9 is my favorite and I'd recommend to EVERYONE.
The only mainline Final Fantasy games I've played are FF6, FF15 & some of FF7. The next game I want to play in the series is 9 but I do want to try out 10 as well after seeing this video. I don't think I will try Blitz Ball besides the mandatory parts. XD
The worst thing about this game that I can still think of was that there's no true open world map like in every previous FF. All three FF titles on PS1 had a fully traversable open world map so when this came out and I started to quickly realize that a 2D map was going to be the world map, I was pretty bummed about that! This was in 2002 and I was still a kid in high school so this sort of change in something I was so excited to play was disappointing to see. FFVI, VII, VIII, and IX all had world map themes that were clearly a different version of the overall main theme of these games respectively but FFX did not.
Yeah. That's one of the main things that turn me off from FF10. Combined with it's linearity, it just doesn't feel like how Final Fantasy were back than. And it gets worst with FF13.
RETURN OF THE QUEEN OF RPGs. ❤❤
