  • Paul Green’s daughter Betsy Green Moyer explores his early childhood growing up in rural Hartnett County, his youthful experiences which led to his great love and knowledge of nature, the plants native to his “tromping grounds,” the folk remedies he knew as a youth and which the grownups in his childhood used regularly, and the American Indian folklore he was familiar with and which he wrote about. His love of nature was not confined to plants and animals. He was curious about everything - the stars, the planets, the world around him. He was a keen observer of everything. He always knew what direction he was headed in, no matter whether he was driving a car, being driven in a car, walking.
