I am also a hobbyist and I've been wanting to own an oscilloscope since I've become aware of them but they are so prohibitively costly (esp. so here in the Philippines) and I thought This frustration I would carry to my grave. One day recently I saw this Fnirsi 1013D for sale online and though it's price (to me still wasn't cheap - a little over 7,000 PHP) I bit the bullet and bought it as I realized this could be my last and only chance to own a semblance of an oscilloscope. I am so happy and glad and thankful for you (and anyone else) who patiently put out videos (such as this one) that show how my 1013D could be useful to me. Needless to say, I am looking forward to more. More power to you, sir. God bless and thank you.

    Nice demonstration of crossover distortion.

I really liked how you worked the FNIRSI oscilloscope into you presentation. No Asia bashing, just honest talk about how to use it.

Thanks.*One way* of biasing a tube guitar amp (especially a classic AB push-pull like a Marshall) is to find that crossover distortion point and then increase the voltage/current to the point it's 'clean' (sinusoidal), but no further; maximising the headroom and dynamic range, but also resulting in the tubes being biased 'cool', for longer life and reliability, and less stress on the other components. That FNRSI scope looks perfect for the job and has now risen to the top of my wish-list 🙂 Thanks again.

About two seconds after I thought "even FNIRSI's ugly FFT would be helpful here" you started showing exactly that! :)

I am considering one of these. Thanks for the video. Most reviews push the thing to the limits for amusement, your insightful video showed this thing doing pretty much the kind of stuff I will expect from it. Audio and Guitar pedal R&D and repair.

A great video of an experienced guy using a device that many will review but never use in a real world scenario. Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge. I am experienced in the frequency domain "RF" but not the time domain. I have been trying to learn distortions in the power domain and have been looking high and low for a video like this. Thank you again!!!

What a wonderful Push-Pull-Amp video and a sweet little oscilloscope. 😎 Thanks a lot. Such neat hobby test equipment these days at low price.

Another great video. That Kaiweets paired with the FNIRSI is some pretty good kit and you don't have to spend a lot of money.

Hello, as an electrician, do you think I can use this equipment to measure harmonics in homes? It doesn't allow me to measure the frequency of each one exactly, but to decide whether to put in a type A RCA or not, I think it might be enough to just see the graph, without precision, what do you think? Thank you very much for all your content!!

Could you do a video on harmonic distortion. Talking a bit about 2nd and 3rd order harmonics

Hmm, should the input capacitors be polarized both in the same way? The amplifier end is somewhere +4,5 V, and the signal generator end is connected to ground potential via 50 ohm resistor.

Interesting and you have me hooked. What scope would you suggest for automotive as well as general electronics and homebuilt stuff. Retired mechanic looking for education. Thanks

Ok, well my suggestion is the Hantek DSO5102P I started with this model and learnt so much. Except its more than your budget.....

I have only seen reviews of the Fnirsi, and my impression is that the Hantek is a much better instrument.

How do we measure frequency on this particular osciilloscope? My frequency keeps reading 0 on this tablet. working with a 555 circuit

Hi dear friend, may I know which Siglent oscilloscope did you use for the time domain analysis?
I gess is the one right behind you but can´t see the model in the video, thanks in advance. GUS

Can the sensitivity of input 1 and 2 be set or calibrated to be the same? because I have input sensitivity 1 and 2 are not the same
