Interesting video. This machine is very similar to the ones used in the 'peat industry' and also the Swiss for clearing the ski slopes. Personally I would have thought it too specialised and a very expensive way to make silage, surely a 'tracked' tractor could do the job cheaper and just as well, or one on duals or triples which can always be removed when not needed.

even triple wheels put a ton of pressure down
these giant track on the other hand reduce compaction like nothing else
even tracked tractors put down way more pressure
might be necessary, otherwise they would not have this machine ^^

Personally, I have shown this to a number of my farming friends and they are all of the opinion it is no different to the LGP tracks that Case/IH can fit if required on their 'Quadtrac', (or most other tractor makers who have tracked ones in their Range). They still think 'triples' all round would work just as well, - and do for some. As for it's trailer - they have been using tracked 'Grain Carts' which can carry up to 1400+ bushel which is a lot heavier than that machine is towing for some years now. Plus of course tractors and even a 'Quadtrac' are all capable of travelling on an ordinary road, which that machine, plus its trailer isn't as shown in the video.
