Your gardens are so beautiful! I, too, have been chopping the perennials. It is hard to cut off the buds and blooms but one is rewarded later with beautiful strong blooms that don't flop! Thank you for sharing your gardens
Claus, I just subscribed and am so enjoying all your wonderful videos. Thank you for putting the names of your plants up on the screen - very helpful! Your garden rooms are lovely. Thank you! I’ll enjoy learning from you. Linda in Oregon, USA
Ohh Claus, never seen that, pruning Hollihocks 😮 all these buds you cut them 😮 please show in august how they flower... Your garden is like heaven inmaculate beautiful 💗💓💗🩷
Your garden is so stunning! This chopping is difficult to do, but I know I at least need to do the asters, as they have already flopped over. Thank you for leading us through the lesson. The roses and Peonies are so gorgeous.
What an absolutely wonderful garden you have! I love that it looks quite wild, with so many plants flowing into one another- kind of a meadowy feel but with roses, peonies and so many perennials 😊
Hello Claus, Question for you : What is the best time of year to sow Verbena Bonariensis seeds ? Am I too late this year? Thanking you in advance. It's so good to see your lovely garden again ❤
Perfect watching for a Sunday afternoon, especially in chilly Pretoria to see all the lush gorgeousness going on in Northern gardens. Greetings from South Africa
...and it has been a pleasure taking it all in. 🙀 It is GORgeous, dearest Claus! The greenhouse in the background; the boxwoods sheared to perfection (in addition to all the flowers) -- all of it is simply Heaven on Earth. 🙏🤗❤️🌿🌸🌼 (from 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=) [USA, Maryland, now zone 7a]
I also do the chelsea chop here in my cottage garden in the UK but I like to cut only half of a plant down so I have half of it flowering early and the rest later
I like your strategy! I hate cutting off blooms. I even find it hard to pinch plants back early on but I am beginning to see the widsom of it. I allmost feel as though Mr. Dalby could have chopped some of his plants back much earlier.
New gardener here. Yikes! Cutting off the buds and blooms now and they re-bloom later?!? Well. You learn something new every day. Your gardens are so beautiful and I’m trying so hard to emulate them. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Oh, Claus! It's dreamy, just like a dream!! Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge & hard work with your audience. Every moment is an inspiration or an idea of some sort for our own gardens. May I be selfish and ask if it would be at all possible to put the names of the plants on the screen when you do the soothing tour of your garden to music? You work so hard already, I hope I'm not out of line asking such a thing.🤦♀️ Take care and happy gardening!!🤗💞🙋♀️ (from Zone 6, Pennsylvania)
You have so many beautiful plants! I love the fullness of your garden! I live in Northeast Ohio, USA and just had to buy 15 bags of mulch. I'd much rather have the plants fill in the space so that the weeds don't have a chance to grow.
Thanks for the Chelsea Chop reminder. I was glad to see you mentioned Veronicastrum. I did the chop earlier and wasn't sure it was ok for that plant. I love that thistle, but sure is hard to find at my nurseries in the states. Beautiful combinations and music!
The Sambucus nigra and Deutzia looking beautiful right now. We also have Kolkwitzia which is pretty and also fragrant. Thank you for another lovely garden tour.
This is so timely. My garden is in the Scottish borders. I’ve grown Campanula from seed and they are at the same stage of development as yours. We have had very high winds over the past week, they are all suffering as a result. I had no idea what to do, and was considering staking them up today. So glad I’ve seen your video and will follow your advice. Many thanks.
Truly soul-satisfying to see you in your garden of grandeur, Claus Dalby. I'm in similar growing zone (south central BC Canada) so I'm having peonies, delphinium and the roses all in show.....on a much smaller scale. I used your dahlias-in-pots ideas from earlier vids and await the season's results with much anticipation. Thank you for sharing your efforts and results. Always enriching.
your garden is looking beautiful, right now. So full of colour. May I ask how far apart do you plant your perennials please? Thank you. Happy gardening 🙂
Greetings from Kentucky in the US Mr. Dalby, your garden is so beautiful and tranquil. I love your color palette. I try to duplicate the purple, blue, pink, white, and chartreuse colors in my own garden. I try to keep the yellows and strong reds down to a minimum. Your garden is a work of art! Happy gardening, James
Was wondering who to ask and thought you might know. Can you grow Fritillaria Persica in pots? Thank you in advance for your answer. I know you must be really busy in the garden right now, cutting things back and planting your bulbs. 😊
Superbe jardin.
Hi Claus, thanks for your video. In the video, where you cut down the Centaurea montana at 8:46, there´s a little plant at the bottom right - with the white stripe over the green leaves? Can you tell what it is? Kind regards, Charles
My cat mint looks sad this time of year yet there still some flowers and full of bees. So far I’ve not had the heart to it back. Maybe a 1/3 at a time?
Hej Claus! Dejlig video! Har du nogen ide til hvordan jeg får mine frø såede stokroser til at “sætte stilk” og blomstre? De har stået kun med løv i 3-4 år nu 🤥🤥 Venligste hilsner fra Line
So calming, like the Bob Ross of gardening 😊

Can you do the Chelsea chop on sea holly (Eryngium)?
Does this pertain to daisies and cornflowers ?
It is so hard to prune when there are buds on the plant.
But really worth doing.
