Simon, I truly enjoyed the different products and techniques that you shared. You have a great personality and “tv” presence! Thanks for the inspiration!!
I love to fussy cut and continually work to better my skills. It is just another aspect of card making that adds another layer of beauty and is very relaxing!
That shadow on the word die I learned from u years ago and it’s a game changer!! Probably one of my favorite hacks u have taught me!! Ty so much for that!!
Simon! Always enjoy watching u and seeing more and more inspiration. And with such ans uplifting and positive vibe that u bring to everything, makes me smile and feel like crafting even on my worst days!! To hear u where bullied because of your interests saddens me to the core, as I too was bullied terribly by both male and female school mates I wasn’t bullied for having talent such as yours but rather the second hand clothing that where mostly boys clothing as I had a male older sibling, problem was I was a girl. We all have our lumps in life and to see u overcome those lumps and build yourself a volcano is nothing shy of an amazing young man that u are giving us all such amazing knowledge and your products are also amazing! Thank u for what u bring to the crafting community! Forge on ! You have a wonderful soul!!!
Juliana I am so glad you showed you hack for cutting sentiment strips, I knew I had seen that tip somewhere but couldn’t remember exactly how & was looking for it yesterday so this time I will write it down! Thanks
Simon, your story is everything that papercrafts is for me…it’s escapism, it’s therapeutic, it’s productive, and in the end, it’s a way to give a gift of the heart. As a nurse, who suffered an injury & became disabled, I’m so thankful to this world of paper-crafts, which became my means of coping, healing, and an overall therapeutic outlet. I’m so glad that you had a strong support system with your mother and that you continued to do what you loved…you are a true inspiration to so many people & I was so glad that you shared your story…so admirable!!! All the VERY BEST to you & hugs from Illinois! ~ Gloria 😊
@ Gloria M good to hear from a fellow nurse who also became disabled. I also took up cardmaking to help in my healing and to motivate me through a very difficult time. I hope you enjoying and are healing still. Xx
Simon, you have a lot of humility. It is refreshing to hear someone with their own product line confessing ‘I’m really bad at gluing, I’d usually edit that out.’ It is encouraging to all of us who flub up!
I love butterflies. I’m going to try using paste and lunar paste it seems like a lot of fun. When I paint I use multiple media so time to bring more into my card making. I do try to tweak and fussy cut a lot of the time. Love the inspiration and stories shared by the guest about the journey into creating. ❤🎉❤
Shimelle , I loved watching you always you are the best teacher . You have taught me alot !!! Thank you ....Watching the replay as I am from the Land down Under .
Simon does interesting videos. So nice to learn new things. I also loved watching the SBC fest showing the warehouse where all the products come from. Such Happy people nice to see.
Simon, I sure did enjoy hearing your story of making your dream come true. You never gave up even though your peers gave you a hard time! I'm a teacher and I'm going to show my students you sharing your story and some of your work and achievement! What an inspiration you will be for them! Oh, and we definitely are going to make encouragement cards afterwards, Simon-style!
Simon - as always ... thoroughly enjoyable and love how you encourage thinking outside the box. Loved your back ground story, have been curious where all this came from for a while!
I am a senior and I find that using stencils help to make my cards far more professional. Glad to see that you have some available. Thanks as well for sharing your story Simon. You are an inspiration to all young people.
Love your cards and style....my trick with liquid glue, I always have a paper towel next to my work station and I place my glued image, glue side down, on the towel and gently press to remove excess glue then glue my piece down....I never have any bleed.
Simon this is absolutely wonderful to be able to hear your story and how you come up from a young person to an adult and you've been successful in your business with your dreams kudos to you
I love all the creative ideas & different ways of using the same supplies in many ways! I like the pocket book book that Laura is making. YES, I so excited here tomorrow!
Fantastic job Simon! I’ve been watching you since your early UA-cam days and am happy that you’re living your passion. You definitely are having the last laugh on your bullies and naysayers! 😊
Simon, I agree with you completely: fussy cutting is therapeutic, feels almost like meditation, you need to focus your mind onto the task a little bit but then its just your hands doing the task and you can let go… I actually tell people who can‘t understand how I have the patience to sit down and create: it is my yoga 😂
I enjoyed hearing about your courage & determination to follow your dream! I loved learning about Luna Paste! That’s a new technique to me! Thank you 😊
Simon, I love, love, your card ideas. I absolutely love fussy cutting. I started cutting paper when I was in grade school helping my mother, a grade school teacher, making her bulletin boards every time school started. thanks for everything ~~rita
So happy you guys are doing this. I have lots of stencils and so excited to try the paste technique. Thank you all. Looking forward to watch the other classes.
I worked today. So I am watching the replays. But I'll get to create with you tomorrow. I also placed an order for a few of the classes .But sadden because my things wont be here until Tuesday.
Catching up from yesterday so watching replay now. I never heard Simon’s story before- I had no idea he started so early- I feel so old! So happy you didn’t let the school kids deter you from doing what you love! ❤
I enjoyed hearing the story of how Simon got started. I had no clue he was THAT young when started! And as far as bully’s, I can relate as well as many unfortunately. There’s always bully’s growing up. That’s one thing that has stayed unchanged for generations!
Loved your class. Love your stamps, especially your sponge foam stamp blocks. I definitely loved the techniques displayed today....the Luna paste is really a game changer. Congrats, Simon, you are one incredible maker.
Awesome tutorials. I really loved watching Laura create the concertina album using the pocket dies, but all the tutorials were fabulous. Fun day, thank you xoxo
Simon, I'm so excited with this project. I've been wanting to try the Lunar Paste but have been hesitant. The results are stunning and you made it look so easy. Thank you so much. I'm definitely putting this on my list for purchase. Thank you to all the instructors and everyone at SBC to make this fest possible.
I’d love to know how those bullies feel about all of your success. You are one of the most famous paper crafters, you have your own product line, you are creative, a good businessman, you have your own popular channel, are loved by the community, make a great living, and you are doing what you love! I wonder where they are now! Way to go, Simon!
If your stencils are mega dirty with paint, soak them in hot water and add a dish washing tablet to the water you can use a brush or cloth and most of the stuff will come off
I like to fussy cut when I'm just sitting around watching TV or something usually don't do it when I'm in the middle of card making. I will have a bunch of things that need fussy cutting and I'll just sit down and go to town
