      @@Not-a-bot222 it's still a great watch. i hope you have the appropriate size tho. it comes in a 38mm and 42mm which makes a difference. i wish i would have bought the 38mm instead of the 42mm. Regarding the strap, it's all about the eye of the beholder. i'm very picky,,,, to me the leather is a hair on the lighter side. it's also pretty stiff. the buckle is nice though.

    Thanks for the review, enjoyed it! I own the watch as well on the metal bracelet. Fantastic watch in every way, I never tire of it. On the topic of anti-reflective coatings, I have heard others complain of the lack of AR coating on watch crystals in general, as if it is such a big deal. Honestly, I love that it has no AR coating. The reflective qualities make it a stunning watch to look at. Unless my life somehow depended on seeing the time in perfect clarity at all times, I see no issue with it whatsoever and frankly, see the lack of AR coating as a positive.

    I have one on the way. I had the 38mm mechanical, but was not a huge fan of the matte finish, which, imo, limited its ability to be work as a casual everyday piece. Also, the mechanical is rated to 50m and was perhaps too thin for my taste.
    This auto (for the same price) takes care of the three small issues I had with the mech.
    This H-10 movement has an astounding 80 hours of power reserve!
    I know the Khaki auto 38 will be one that’ll stay with me and eventually will be given to my son.
    A totally iconic piece!

    I’ve checked out several reviews. Then got myself one.
    Very happy, I’m not a tiny wrist guy, just don’t like big watches.
    This keeps fantastic time. I set it to the second at noon on Sunday, next Sunday at noon I watched the second hand coming up to 12 and my phone time (with seconds running) keeping right up with it.
    Was pleasantly surprised to note my watch was 1 second fast 😂

    For me that new shock absorber looks like a hybrid of Nivachoc and Novodiac. Maybe it works better, since Nivachoc is used in Omega, but it's probably not a huge deal. IMHO it looks more flexible. Upside is you know you have the newest 2019 movement, since H-10 came with Novodiac before, even that newer iteration with "Star H" logo.
    I just got mine Khaki field 38 with the same movement/antishock combo.
    Did yours also came in a foux wooden box or a standard black one?

    The 2017 model year is currently being sold by a third party on Amazon. If you buy this from an AD, do you get the current model year, and would it make a difference in terms of movement, etc? This probably applies to many of the third party grey market watches sold. What model year was the reviewed watch? Thanks.

    I grabbed my first Hamilton back 7 plus yrs ago when I bought a Silver dialed Intra-Matic on bracelet and loved it immediately and finally after buying plenty of solid microbrand with Swiss movements from Hamtun to the Lorier Neptune and the Smiths Everest I am going to add a Khaki Field 38 mm on leather to the collection. I feel it looks great on bracelet so I am going to try it on a Strapcode brushed w/ polished centre links so hopefully it looks as good as the photos and not too small. Thanks 🙏🏽 for the review. I just wanted to check this vs the Khaki King II/bracelet to see what I should grab. If anyone has an ideas for nice quality after market bracelets for any of these pieces let me know.
    Thanks again bro ! Solid work !

    The H10 movement can only be serviced by Hamilton, right? How much value does the H10 offer in the long run when considering servicing costs? I know some people prefer the ETA movement for the fact that it can be serviced for less, even though the power reserve isn't 80 hours.

    • @WatchesAndCars
      @WatchesAndCars  5 років тому +5

      No, from my knowledge the H10 like any other C07 611 movement, can be serviced by basically anyone who can service the ETA 2824. The H10 is very similar to the 2824, only some minor changes. I don't see why the H10 would be harder to service.
      They have removed the regulator screw/pin so it's a bit harder to adjust, but still possible of course. But that will help with the accuracy of the movement in theory.
      Short answer:
      The H10 can be serviced just like the ETA 2824.

    • @marcingrzegorczyk5608
      @marcingrzegorczyk5608 5 років тому +1

      @@WatchesAndCars Agree. I once had H10 in a Jazzmaster and did my research. It says 25 jewels beacause escapement is serviceable (metal parts with 2 pallets). On the other hand Powermatic 80 has a plastic escapement (hence 23 jewels) which is not serviceable. Watchmaker has to put a new set in. I'm not sure if every watchmaker will be able to get these parts from Swatch Group.

    I think it looks too small for your 7.0 inch wrist. Should have been a 40 mm. There is a similarly designed dial at 42 mm. I know that there's a Khaki field that is 40 mm but this watch you reviewed has a really nice and better looking dial. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and what I bought instead is the H704450 silver model. Hey guys, just a little criticism after having the 38mm khaki field auto for a time now. 1. I wouldn't get the 38mm, I'd go for the 40mm or 42mm (if you have the wrist size). 38mm is a dress size not a field size, yes, you can get away with it, but it also feels(to me) wrong. At least go have it sized before you buy. 2. The dial is actually two-toned in a way, you don't notice it much in the video but the dial is split in two with an inner and outer edge. 3. you definitely need to buy either a military nato or brown strap, dark color straps take away from the watch. What is shown in the video is the limit of dark brown.

      Too big is subjective - and you admit as much. It’s perfect for me. The dial is actually three toned with an outer matte finish, a middle sunburst finish, and an inner muted sunburst. I am not a fan of the leather strap - mine is black. This watch deserves a NATO. Mine is on a dark grey NATO and looks great. I use this watch on weekends and when traveling.

      If you say that then you'd be surprised when you learn about the traditional field watch sizes back then (spoiler: it's 31-36mm), those that the design of this watch is based on. 38mm pretty much already a modern design by today's standards. 😁

    I was planning on going to buy this watch but I decided not to do it, the reason is that you can't regulate it yourself, you have to send it to Hamilton every time

    My Lorier Falcon is better, imo.

    • @MrAbdhalla
      @MrAbdhalla 5 років тому

      Looks are of course subjective, but the Hamilton have equal or perhaps even slightly better finishing, better movement (the 6R15 is more comparable to the H10), thinner, brand history etc. The Hamilton is objectively the better watch. The Falcon can of course be subjectively better though.

    • @ronnietarnacke5153
      @ronnietarnacke5153 5 років тому

      Um not saying the Lorier isn't a nice watch . But the Hamilton definitely outclasses it . H10 > nh35a, sapphire > mineral crystal, swiss>Japanese. The Falcons claims 200m w/r so it does top the 100m of the khaki field.
