I'm new to ship building. I built an outpost with a landing pad and have visited some different ship technicians. Where can I buy all of these, and do I need to do it all in one place?
If you rebuild the Razorleaf whatever ship you rebuild it as still has the special perk to make enemies run, so in short Bethesda has answered the Ship of Theseus thought experiment with a Yes it is still the same ship
You succeeded very well in retaining the recognizable visual character of the Razorleaf, but also succeeded in creating something much more imposing. This inspires me to reconfigure my Razorleaf too. I never used that ship, and just ignored it.

Real endgame ships require the engine unlock from Walter Stouts personal sidequest, helping his ship building team (after "All that money can buy", free ship included). Bolting on 6! SAL-6830 Engines will let you keep 100 mobility at 8000+ cargo and max. stat. equipment. I just hate managing ship cargo, so that's that (even without payload skill points, imaging where this goes). I got myself a nice UC Sysdef Ship with the best reactor and grav drive already in, that reduces cost a lot. Send your crew home before that, except Vasco if you want, he doesn't give a... and make sure there are no witnesses = no bounty. The Fulminator 8000 is ridiculously cheap so 4 of those for EM. The "Gruntwork" first UC mission (fun to do in a UC ship 😂) already unlocks the Vanguard ship components, highly recommended as well, especially if you want to build a class B endgame ship. Class A is hard, but I did one as a speed fighter. The fastest (180) engine class is A, not C! But with a C class, high mobility 130 base speed engine, just get Sam on board for speed and keep him alive. Who needs Sarah if he can put Andreja into the gray formwear ☺️?
I thought I had done all of the sidequest but maybe I havent done Walters All That Money Can Buy yet. Ill have to look into that tonight when I get home from work.
@citizenzerogames1637 "All that money can buy" is part of the main quests (one artifact bought in Neon). It only happens if you don't shortcut the main quest in NG+es. Talk to Walter after you finished "All that money can buy" and you returned the artifact. Many never talk to him again I guess 😄
A real Mantis (Mantidae Mantodea) insect isn't really standard army-issue drab olive. I painted mine in bright Greens so those pirates would know what was coming to them!
Workshops are definitely handy to have on board and I totally agree with you about the front facing bay. Side entrance is my least favorite. I was trying to keep this build as true to the original as I could so I kept the armory and put the bay in the rear
I use the direct-entry landing bay (front or side) for RP reasons. On my two "hero stuff" ships, the Razorleaf and Star Eagle, the infirmary is on the bottom level aft, behind the ladder to the main deck. That way, there's no issue with wounded having to be carried up a ladder, you could actually use stretchers or even wheeled gurneys for the badly injured.
i use the stroud workshop because it has industrial, spacesuit, weapon, and research workbenches, but the deimos one might better in design which is fine
Just change the RZ's Armory to crew a station and add 6 obliterators, update the shields, and the RZ is good for most of the game. The RZ. engines is pretty OP for a class A ship.
Nice upgrade. Although with the cockpit you used, you don't need battlestations, could do 2x1 workstation and infirmary in that area, that gives all benches on your ship. Also where the ladder ended up is kind neat if you think about it, Captains quarters are usually right off bridge for ease of access, as well if someone was assaulting/boarding you, wether you are in your quarters or on the bridge you come thru your armory to get armed as you defend yourself. Good role play aspect that wasn't expected. 👍
No one has mentioned it but if you still wondering about the bridge with two floors, it is the Cabot C3 Bridge, can only be bought when you are at Titan and talking with the ship engineering guy there. There is three versions of it. Cabot C3 Bridge - Required Level 1, Mass 14, Cargo 280, Cost 9600 Cabot C3X Bridge - Required Level 19, Mass 17, Cargo 300, Cost 12,800 and Starship Design Rank 1 Cabot C4 Bridge - Required Level 25, Mass 19, Cargo 320, Cost 17,000 and Starship Design Rank 2 Although will be cheaper if you have the Commerce Skill.
In your attack demo, you inadvertently left a bunch of your reactor power unassigned. So your weapons would be / could be even more powerful with that all parceled out correctly unless you wanted to put it into speed. And I think you had 1 notch of (shield?) unfilled as well. Dang that thing is mobile though! Very nice looking too!
I like to run the Helion beams and the electron or proton beams that look the same as the helion. They’re powerful, look good and I can target engines just fine. I only run my weapons at 4-5 power and I can annihilate anything in the serpentis system in seconds. Nice ship man.
A couple people have mentioned glitching the reactor into the grave drive on several of my videos. I am going to have to give that a try and see how it looks. Thanks for the tip!
I built the ship but used the double cockpit that has no ladder found it o be better used the same brand of engines but used the top tier of them ps great design of ship thank you am going to change gabs to daimos and not nova
Take those weapons any put them underneath, I like to hide my weapons too, I actually stack multiple on one mount but pushing Duplicate and that allows you to place as many as you can on one spot.
Love it, well done. That particular cockpit makes me cringe though, just because I associate it with some of those gawd-awful, I think Crimson Fleet? ships that I always capture. Otherwise, a great ship.
My priority is using as little of the ship as possible so that all I really have to do is board, sleep, and pilot. The eight crew members get the rest of the ship.
Similar to what I did, but I did 3 particle beams instead, even so your 2 particle beams deal more than mine, I have 74+75+74 and you got 137+166, so I might just change around my weaponry to get an em weapon
If you dont really care to disable and board ships you could also swap out the third weapon slot for missles or 4 more of the regular(not auto) PBO-300 particle beams for some serious damage. Only problem you might run into there is not enough reactor power to get them all maxed out
It's very often that i accidentally pick up some contraband when taking a ship so maybe adding a small shielded cargo would be beneficial. And i see what you mean about wanting a pointy cockpit, so maybe you could have a 1x1 hab behind it instead of the 2x1 so you could get a longer, thinner cockpit and bring it in slightly so the profile more closely matches the original
If you want to stay more true to the original you could use the cockpit from the original. It would give you the pointier profile. I just really love the Ares bridge. One other change I have made is to swap out that docking module for a companionway and a slim docker to get rid of that ladder in the armory. I have thought about adding a couple shielded cargo but cant really find a good place to put it. Any suggestions?
@@citizenzerogames1637 if i want some small cargo spots that don't interrupt the profile i can usually find empty space underneath the ship or in this case specifically, remove one of the central landing gears for space or move the fuel tanks up to where the bracers are and have the shielded cargo underneath them
Not bad at all, personally I would drop down glitch to cover the grav drive and reactor. To each their own right? Also don’t sweat the no shielded cargo, it only takes one trip to The Den in Wolf system if you pick up any contraband 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah the Den is my go to so I dont usually worry about shielded cargo. You are the second person to mention the drop down glitch on the grave drive. What exactly do you mean by that? Im not sure if I have seen that or maybe I have and just didnt realize what people were talking about
So let’s say you have a hab directly behind your reactor. You can place a deimos hull (a good part to use because it has connections on all sides) on top of the hab then connect a structure piece directly above your reactor using that hull. Now delete that hull and when you click the structure piece it will snap down into the next connection even if the reactor is already there, essentially covering the reactor.
A suggestion? Trade in all those engines and use 3x DT230 instead I have similar build, I also really like that Deimos cockpit, but makes the Battle Station hab unnecessary (8 crew + 6 crew), but I love the Battle Station look, so I'd keep it for the look.
Im glad you liked my build. I havent been playing lately but was planning to do a couple more soon. I used the AllPartsAtlantis Mod to make building alot easier. I dont think mods are available on console yet but if you are on PC I would most definitely reccomend this mod
Yeah the game still recognizes it as the Razorleaf. Some people have said that you need to keep at least one of the original parts. Honestly cant remember in the build if I copied one of the parts or not, but I still regularly get space pirates freaking out when the Mantis comes around

I will use the build for all the parts I don’t understand like the engines and guns, but then change up that habs. I like it pretty habby lol I couldn’t figure out how to use that bay and cockpit until now either lol
I am still getting the pirate/mantis encounters and I didn't use any of the original parts. If you are worried that might not happen then you could easily copy some of the parts as I tried to use many of the same pieces in the new build.
Are ship parts locked behind levels? I got Piloting 4 and Starship Design 4 and I don't even have half the things you have here dafuq am I doing wrong?
Alot of the ship parts are only available at the manufacturer. Now that the Creation Station is live I would download a Mod that unlocks all the ship parts at your outpost
My leaf looks newr the same moved the lander to the front raised the cockpit up gave it class c reactor same weapons near enough same as yours but I painted mine into a uc vanguard color
Couple things. First, you need to keep at least one component from the original ship to keep its effects on enemy ships. Second, you CAN sell the Frontier and here is how. 1. Go to your ship tech like you normally would and ask to see what they have for sale. 2. Sell enough ships to take the vendor credits to “Zero” or near zero. This will mean that you will get less for a ship than it is worth but it is the only way to do this. I went to a system and stole/boarded the ships I needed with the sole intention of getting rid of the Frontier and that garbage Starborn ship. 3. Sell the Frontier. No you will not get anything for it but let’s face it. The ship is pretty much useless once you progress and it takes up a ship slot you can use for something else. Losing less than 10k credits is more than worth the trade off.
I think the idea is that class C ships are bigger and slower, but I get your point. You would think that throwing a huge reactor with class C engines on a small ship and that thing would be flying circles around every other ship.
@@citizenzerogames1637 The key to get the A class speed is just using those sweet white dwarf 3030's? I think. You can have a C class reactor but as long as you put A class engines, you'll get the speed. Just have to be careful about mass to keep it at top maneuvering/a class speed.
@@Triumph2727 No... I think what he is saying is that the other ship wasn't deleted yet so it is still counting both reactors. When the second ship gets deleted it removes the errors and other reactor stats.
@@Triumph2727 No, max you can get with skills and crew is 48. But what he meant is that there were 2 reactors in the build area and it counts their combined power, so appears like there's more.

Deimos bridge can be bought on deimos staryard orbiting Deimos around Mars
Now that Mods are available on console you can download a mod that unlocks all ship parts at your outpost. It makes ship building WAYYYY easier

I would add auto cannons on the sides pointing outwards so they can shoot ships around you and always forward

only change I'd make is using the nova armory instead of deimos for the mannequin storage and pop the Mantis suit in one
Nice touch adding the Mantis suit on display. Might make that swap when I get back on for Shattered Space DLC
So long as the ship is still Razorleaf, it should retain the unique interactions for the Mantis.

The razor leaf has shielded cargo to come with it, haven’t watched yet so idk if he deleted it but if he didn’t then it does have it

No you don’t, you can delete and build it over and over. It’s the slot, not the ship
Im not sure that is true because I used totally new parts and deleted the entire original and still get all of the special effects from the Razorleaf

I added a couple more habs and I love it! Otherwise I made it exactly the same and you almost can’t notice my extra habs.
This was pre mods so now you should be able to completely customize the interior if you want.

I mostly focus on particle weapons because that is the skill I have leveled but you may prefer a different weapons package
Are ship parts locked behind levels? I got Piloting 4 and Starship Design 4 and I don't even have half the things you have here dafuq am I doing wrong?
Alot of the ship parts are only available at the manufacturer. Now that the Creation Station is live I would download a Mod that unlocks all the ship parts at your outpost
My leaf looks newr the same moved the lander to the front raised the cockpit up gave it class c reactor same weapons near enough same as yours but I painted mine into a uc vanguard color
I wish you could save paint themes to a palette so copy on to other ships.

Couple things. First, you need to keep at least one component from the original ship to keep its effects on enemy ships. Second, you CAN sell the Frontier and here is how.
1. Go to your ship tech like you normally would and ask to see what they have for sale.
2. Sell enough ships to take the vendor credits to “Zero” or near zero. This will mean that you will get less for a ship than it is worth but it is the only way to do this. I went to a system and stole/boarded the ships I needed with the sole intention of getting rid of the Frontier and that garbage Starborn ship.
3. Sell the Frontier. No you will not get anything for it but let’s face it. The ship is pretty much useless once you progress and it takes up a ship slot you can use for something else. Losing less than 10k credits is more than worth the trade off.

I have yet to figure out how a Class C ship has a lower top speed than a Class A ship.
I think the idea is that class C ships are bigger and slower, but I get your point. You would think that throwing a huge reactor with class C engines on a small ship and that thing would be flying circles around every other ship.
@@citizenzerogames1637 The key to get the A class speed is just using those sweet white dwarf 3030's? I think. You can have a C class reactor but as long as you put A class engines, you'll get the speed. Just have to be careful about mass to keep it at top maneuvering/a class speed.
How do you have an “A” reactor with 58 power?

@@Triumph2727 No... I think what he is saying is that the other ship wasn't deleted yet so it is still counting both reactors. When the second ship gets deleted it removes the errors and other reactor stats.

But what he meant is that there were 2 reactors in the build area and it counts their combined power, so appears like there's more.
I’m Lvl 32 and still can’t get a good reactor!? When does the game allow you to get a good reactor? I have starship design rank 4 and piloting rank 4
I think some of the best stuff doesn't unlock until you are in your 60's or 80's I think.
