I learned to shoot at 12 years old. Treat every gun as if it is loaded all the time. No such thing as a cold gun. This is the first lesson in gun safety. Open every gun every time. Even after you can SEE that it is empty... you still treat it like it is loaded and ready to fire.
There was definitely negligence here on everyone’s part.

Rebecca, I agree! My dad taught me gun safety when I was around your age, always treat a gun as if it's loaded, know your background, and check the chamber, I took a gun safety class too.
I taught my son gun safety when he was 9, I also demonstrated for him what kind of damage a live round would do. I think gun safety should be mandatory, it would save many young lives, as it is many kids only see glamorized movies without understanding its real life consequences.

Massive ego, but this is also a man suffering from shock/PTSD. No surprise there.
I see a man who - in his own memory - did nothing wrong, is completely bewildered about what actually happened, is mourning a loss, and is beginning to feel defensive. I'm sure the financial hit that he and his family are likely to face is not lost on him either, Baldwin was a producer of this film.

@@claudialevesque6993 You have NO IDEA if he has PTSD. I see a man trying to blame EVERYONE ELSE but himself and is trying to poison the jury pool and the movie going public to save his life and his career.
The problem he has is that NOBODY agrees with him about how guns are handled on set! Left wing, Right wing, middle of the road, no gun safety experts ANYWHERE agree that you just ACCEPT THE WORD of someone and can safely assume that the gun is safe. You treat ANY GUN you see as loaded until YOU PERSONALLY have checked it.
IF GEORGIE STEPHANOPOLOUS was a REAL JOURNALIST, he would have asked Baldwin "IF you had no need to check the weapon before the scene and the scene would have called for you to play Russian Roulette, would you have checked the gun then???"
Baldwin was not only the STAR of the show, he was a producer on scene, so he is DOUBLY in trouble and his negligence as an actor AND as a producer is likely to get him charged with some version of manslaughter/murder.
THAT is what Baldwin is truly concerned about!

His wife publicly stated that he has been diagnosed, and is being treated for PTSD. As I said, not at all surprising, as he accidentally *killed* someone who was a *friend.* Whether he was criminally negligent is a moot point.
I'm not going to argue about whether he was responsible for checking the gun, as a lot of people seem to be blurring the difference between a civilian handling a handgun, and an actor shooting a cold weapon on set...and where the actual responsibility lies...it would take way too long.
You have the absolute right to speculate your thoughts on this case, of course.

He said the only “live” round on that set was the single arrow used in a scene at the movies end. No one was around when that bow released the arrow either. That’s how they got the shots of the arrow being fired. He says live ammunition on the set is a huge issue and whoever brought it to the set would be liable for this.

@@elliekaytea6710 Yes, that is the INDUSTRY STANDARD, because they had accidents in the past. One armorer said in an interview that on HIS movies, anyone in the scene when a gun is involved is SEARCHED each time for live rounds, if they are found, the entire set is closed off and a comprehensive search is done throughout the entire set for more rounds, even if it closes production for the day. With CGI in the state it is in today, you do not even have to use blanks any more. Blanks USED to be needed to give the muzzle flash for the camera, but that can now be added by CGI.

Baldwin did not check the weapon. Which was a Colt revolver- single action gun. He pointed it at a person. You never point it at someone, Unless you plan to shoot. He pulled back the hammer, it cocked, he had to have his finger on the trigger for it to fire. Ultimately it is his responsibility. A gun expert or a forensic team will be able to see how it fired . Because It was fired at some point. Was it from a blank round or a live round? Could this be proof the gun had been used for plinking? Or was it from the two previous misfires AB’s stunt double experienced? So many questions, so little time.

No one cleans a gun to attempt to add a 6th bullet with the other 5 still in it, as indicated in that paperwork. That is absolutely unsafe and not how you clean a gun or try to get a bullet to go in, ever, let alone when surrounded by people. Any round, including a dummy round, can cause injuries or even death depending on how and where it hits. That danger alone means you don't screw around with a gun or attempt to clean it with other rounds in. How was she in charge of the guns?!
Again, any gun whether it is is loaded or not, whether it has blanks or live rounds, should not EVER be pointed at anyone. I am just so confused on how any of these humans were allowed to touch guns at all!!!

Since this was a set, it means they didn't look like blanks and they didn't look or sound like dummies. The dummies I'm familiar with have a hole in the side of the case and usually a couple of BB's inside so they can rattle when shaken.

That has to be an excuse. Proper safety protocol, from an armorer for film industry, is the armorer is the ONLY person that handles firearms until a scene. The armorer hands it to the actor, and retrieves it from the actor. No one else should have been allowed anywhere near that firearm.
Also, there should never have been live rounds on set at all. I would have pulled my firearms and told the director to call me when he wants to ensure ALL personnel can follow my safety protocol, or call someone else that is willing to risk that liability.
Baldwin is absolutely acting stupidly, but as an armorer, this is all, 100%, down to an armorer not securing the set, following safety protocol, and leaving firearms unsecured around pushy idiots.

FYI re: Armorers & Ammo. Tho you can buy manufactured bullets, a lot of armorers make their own, from the empty casings of fired live bullets. They remake the cases into 3 different types of bullets: a.”Blanks”-that give off a low to high decibel ‘bang’ w/ or w/o a ‘flash & smoke’ but it has no metal projectile. However, to keep the gunpowder in the base/primer area, armorers typically pack the rest of the casing w/paper, felt, cotton, then crimps the tip around the packing, tho some choose to use a dab of heated wax or plastic to seal it flat. Plus some may put their like TM in the wax or plastic b4 fully hardens. Note: a paper wad to wax/plastic do eject out.
b: “Dummy” rounds are simply inert = do nothing except protect a gun’s firing pin. Dummy rounds contain no gunpowder. An armorer can render a live bullet into a Dummy by drilling a hole about mid-low case & empties all the gunpowder from the once live bullet’s casing. Most armorers place a BB in the hole, so one can shake the bullet & hear the BB rattle which signifies the case isn’t packed w/anything, especially gunpowder.
Or c. make “Live” rounds again
Manufactured Blanks & Dummy rounds can come w/a bullet shaped end piece, that’s made of paper & felt or other materials except metal.
btw: the metal case of any size bullet typically holds that much gunpowder & amount of gunpowder = speed/velocity + force of projectile ‘shot out’

Reed’s & others prior to asking for his phone, yet he wouldn’t give his cellphone up unless they had a warrant. Alec probably didn’t want them to find the Mentor Armorer, Seth Kenney, who owns the prop store where they got their guns & ammo from who has a sketchy past. Like Kenney brought live rounds to his last movie set in July-Aug & even asked Hannah’s dad, well known Master Armorer, Thorell Guitierrez who did bring Seth a variety of live rounds. However, Kenney wouldn’t let Thorell Guitierrez take back his unused live rounds & told Thorell to “write it off”.
Thorell Guitierrez contacted NMPD in early Nov, to tell where they may find the type of live round(s) they were looking for & described what his own live rounds looked like & how he marked them. Not murder like planned, he just didn't check a gun, trusted some other crew member who wasn't the armorer who also didn't check the gun. the gun was a real gun and his union rules say he's not to fire a gun he hasn't personally checked. He has been in other films involving guns and has been trained in gun safety, he just didn't bother this time. He said in an interview that an assistant director verbally told him it wasn't loaded so then he felt he could "relax" and then he didn't know how to use the gun so he accidentally fired it at Halyna Hutchins who was 18 inches away. Now he's saying it's the armorer's fault even though he took the gun from an assistant director and didn't seem concerned that the armorer wasn't even around.

My money is that someone deliberately sabotaged the set. This happened just after the union walked off the set and were replaced by scabs. There is a tremendous amount of motivation for someone to do this -- very likely without the intention for someone to get killed. They may have intended for the live round to be discovered and causing a shitstorm to find out how it got there.
In any event, there is motivation and opportunity (since the firearms were unsecured for periods of time) for a sabotage event.

No one would, as Baldwin claims, tell someone to point then fire a gun directly at them, especially from less than 2' away. Most likely she asked him if he checked the gun or told him to be careful not to point the gun at her. Either statement would have infuriated Baldwin.

Also Hannah's father tipped the police off that "the particular live rounds" may have come from him doing a live round shooting with Seth Kenny who then took the live ammo with him & failed to return it. Was this ammo sent by Seth Kenny to Hannah specifically boxed as live rounds or did they get mixed up with dummy rounds in error as everything about this film seemed to have been done in a rush. The only thing I don't get is why Alec Baldwin let everyone hang around for 45 minutes if Halyna had only be shot by a blank & hit by some wadding as he claimed he thought when he is on record as shouting at props & film crew for anyone taking too long to do their job?

I may be stupid but I don’t understand why looking into a phone?? I have deleted things from my phone that I don’t want anyone to see. Plus once a month I reset the phone to factory settings and then set it up as a new phone thus anything that puts me in a bad light is gone. Couldn’t Alex Baldwin do the same thing???

Sir, you are implying Alec would be smart enough to do such a thing. Ha ha
And we all know, Alec isn’t the brightest, he’s a narcissist, but a stupid narcissist who doesn’t think outside the box

@@MeghansMole he may not be smart enough to do it but his lawyer is. That is why he asked for a warrant so that he can get a security expert to clean his phone of any evidence that proofs him liable.
I was just stating one method of doing it. If you delete something from an IPhone it gets deleted from ICloud plus if you set up your phone as a new phone then when the automatic backup starts everything gets scrubbed from ICloud if you use the same account.

@@tomcrown69 I doubt his attorney would want to lose his bar card over the likes of Alec Baldwin. Not to mention that Alec doing that would show consciousness of guilt which his attorney would not want.

Alec Baldwin in the live interview with George S. really came across badly pretending to be a victim when he caused the dead of Halyna Hutchins and shot Joel Souza at the same time

Souza was also co-director, though he was injured, does he have no responsibility? Baldwin as a producer, was in a producer role to do script and talent, not special effects. Is Souza going to be investigated as well?

Does Alec have to provide his PIN when he relinquishes his phone ?
