Quick tip, if you zoom in on your tablet it shows you the lines where you have sprayed and also how good the pass was!!
Born and raised in Mississippi. You should see how low they get after they’re done spraying and start to play around for pics. Insane.
I work for an aerial application business. Most in the business prefer that then calling it crop dusting. The part under the plane is the spray pump that spins to build pressure. We run Ag cats and a thrush. Ag-cats are the biplanes that had came with radial motors but have now been swapped to turbines. The planes have lightbars mounted in front of you that will tell you if you need to be left or right according to the field pattern you have set up. Don’t have a lot a time with Air tractors but I do know they are working the flaps when they spray all day. It’s very common for flap motors to go out. The agcats do not have flaps. During the busy season we run 13 hours a day 7 days a week in the summer and usually put 250 hours on each plane a year.
Sweet man. I got my first job flying ag in a c188 next szn. Obtained my commercial pilots license a few months back and building tailwheel time for insurance purposes.
Aerial applicators or “crop duster guys” are the most professional pilots you’ll ever see work.
When I worked on my father's farm (what... 30 years ago now?), there would always either be someone in a pickup that would drive along the edge of the field and their location would mark where the last pass was (imagine how much chemicals they must have been sprayed with over the years). Alternately, if that wasn't possible, they had little paper strips that looked sort of like toilet paper that would get dropped at the end of the pass, and they would aim for those on the next round.
Sitting in a tractor for 8 to 10 hours a day, you can be sure that watching those 20 minutes were the highlight of my day ;-)
Such a great series. Low flying is the best cause you have so much perspective close to you for realizing how fast you're actually moving. Hopefully one or two more of these crop duster episodes at least.

@TmarTn2 it should show on your EFB. It will show yellow/green lines to show the areas you have sprayed. Zoom in on the iPad looking screen thing

Jfyi, the compass in the top left shows how much you completed and how good you did, small tip: If you fly a little higher you get more spray even tho its not perfectly fertilized.

Definitely a stick! Once you play with a joystick everything is so so much better to do. A controller is meh... And a bit more tricky to land and what not.

Even the cheapest stick gives you infinitely more control and realism- completely different game with it! Upgrade when you can!
They spray in my area, it's concerning how much they crash or hit electrical lines. When I say crash it's maybe once a year but that's too much, they are insane

Im in two minds to get this game or not - is it worth it with the bugs it has ?
I have it and so far it has been pretty good there is definitely some bugs but it’s gone pretty well for me. the biggest bug I have probably had is atc button not working randomly and saying flaps out at max speed when going landing speed
