Race winner here 👋🏻 …and yep, overweight B rider, lacking fitness and not used zwift for a while…hence the drop in category. was using C races to do long range sustained efforts and get the numbers to go back to B. Really enjoyed this route. Looks like you e progressed massively recently, and smashed Glyph Heights!!! 💪🏻 👏🏻 Consistency is key!!
Thanks very much 👍🏻 I was super happy with the Glyph Heights result! I know the struggle of dropping a category and then the rebuild process- I completely agree that consistency is the key 👍🏻
Well done Ollie hope the training goes well for you and you get to where you want to be When you said your FTP results were low I thought 200 then you said something like 260 I nearly cried that’s what mine is 😂 I now feel weak 😂 hopefully see you in a race soon mate great vid as always keep pushing mate 👍
Thanks mate! 👍🏻 it’s been pretty full on and I really hope I start seeing some decent results! Haha, my FTP is 243 at the moment and you’re definitely not weak at all, you’re a zwifting legend mate! We’ll definitely get together in a race soon - I think I’ll be racing Thursday nights in a random races going forward whilst doing this training 👍🏻 thanks for your support as always mate!
Great video Ollie as always! I really should do zone 2/3 training but a I get on Zwift then see a race and decide I want to race instead! lol I really like the racing score way of categorising groups so hopefully it'll be in soon. I'm looking forward to ZRL next month too! Stay safe mate
Thanks Phil 👍🏻 Great getting back into a race again with you after what seems like ages! That was definitely a fun one too, which is why I’m trying to stick with this programme because I love a race! It’d be great if we’re in the same zrl league, there’s definitely a chance it’ll happen! Let me know what time you’re racing and I’ll see if we have one at the same time. Speak soon mate 👍🏻
Sure there's still a lot of high powered racers coming back online who might have been off for spring/summer lul. Zwift needs to filter them up to the higher levels quickly as possible. As a heavier rider who raced in D and now E (lowest score) it's still a struggle no matter my fitness improvement.
Hopefully the new scoring system will help with the influx of riders coming back online after being outdoors for the summer. It always seems a struggle in every category at the moment - keep up with the training, it’ll pay off in the end 👍🏻
For a zone 2 training workout to be effective you've got to do it for at least two to three hours. I can't do that on a stationary trainer. Gotta do that outside.
I’ve been doing my longer rides outside because I also find it pretty difficult to get comfortable and stay occupied for that amount of time indoors 👍🏻
Two hours at zone 2 is worthwhile if you can do it indoors. Outdoors you probably need to do a bit longer than two hours as you have various interruptions. Zone 2 training needs a couple of months of regular z2 rides to really start to make a difference. It makes you more efficient, allows you to build up volume and frequency without much fatigue and ultimately building up your training load. With 10 to 20 percent of your time doing some harder efforts you should see fitness gains that are sustainable and growable over time.
@@chrismadge7292 Yes, TrainerRoad appears to think so. But two hours on a stationary trainer is unpleasant even on Zwift. Outside it is literally a breeze.
I definitely felt more comfortable in the pack but it still felt super hard top end. I was able to hold a steady pace at the end of the race up the climb where my race before I was unable to stay with the group 👍🏻

Good results so far. 3.0 wkg is a solid effort.
Thanks Roy! It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next phase of training. Hope you’re doing well 👍🏻
@@notpogi Doing great. Looking forwards to your next video

“Be the best that you can be”, wise words
From the best thespian I know, it’s what spurred me on to be honest 😊

Great video especially as I'm in it LOL.
You’ve been in a few now mate! It was super tough, those guys at the front were pushing the pace! 👍🏻
Work full time😮
Yes that is correct ✅
😂….
Do you think you might live stream races on YT / Twitch etc?
I have been thinking about doing this, a great suggestion 👍🏻
I am more concerned he thinks he works “ full time” 🤣

What was the difference now and before the 2 weeks? Do u have any comparison?

@@notpogi ahh nice to know. I gotta improve, too. I will try zone2 training, too :)
It’ll be really interesting to see how it’s helped in the next phase of training - I’ll keep you posted, good luck with the Z2 👍🏻
It was a horrible climb at the end!
Agreed mate! I almost snapped about 3 times before I finally went - such a brutal way to finish 👍🏻
They won 7 out of the 6 races ? 😂
Yeah and came second in the one they didn’t win! Bring on results based categories! 👍🏻
I noted that as well
