Watching in 2024, it's crazy to see some of the elements of football that made it great in 2012 that just no longer exist - a subtle one is the satisfaction of kicking field goals in the early second half by the Gators where the 2024 analytics would tell you that you have to go for touchdowns or first downs because of some faceless mathematical algorithm. It used to be that a field goal was seen as a legitimate success and a way to claw back into the game even if your offense couldn't find that final play to get into the endzone, and it communicated that your defense will keep you in the game until your offense can make the breakthrough. That was certainly the case for Florida's entire 2012 season and a big reason why they beat the Vols in this game. And for the record I am a huge fan of analytics in general, but I don't believe in putting the blind trust in it like some coaches do today.
It's so wild that they were talking about UT being "back" before this game and it's already been another decade.. it's even more funny that they are kinda doing the same thing as that year going into this one with Heupels 2nd year
First college football game I ever watched. I live in Tennessee so my whole family was rooting for UT. And I got sick and tired of hearing "Go vols" and all this crap about the vols. So I told them that Florida was going to win. And I actually got in arguments with them over it not knowing much about football at all at that time. But I watched the game and it was so much fun it was ridiculous. Ever since this game I have been a huge gator fan, and have been to three games 3 straight years. Go gators!
Let's be honest while the Will Mushchamp era is not to be proud of, it could have been better with a different offense and playbook. The defense was good, just could not beat the top SEC teams.
Driskel was recruited by Meyer, I believe, to be the QB to replace Tim Tebow to run his spread offense. Then Meyer left Florida and under Muschamp, The Gators abandoned the spread and became of a pro style run first team, which really did not fit the style that Driskel was recruited for.
I can’t believe that anyone thought Muschamp was the next big thing in coaching. I remember when he was at Texas and they talked about him like he was a genius. So glad he’s gone
This is what Tennessee fans say every year. We are close to a decade straight of pure dominance over you pathetic Vols. You guys aren't beating us this year. Vols will be lucky to get to 6 wins.
SwampOfGators Your coach has no control of his team. Your players are talking shit left and right when they aren't even favored. Only way vols lose tomorrow is if they beat themselves end of fucking story.
He would have been good under Urban Meyer running the spread offense, but Meyer left and Muschump came in and we ran a pro style run first offense, which is not his game at all. I think he would have been great in the spread offense, especially under Urban Meyer.
Godiola i mean it was 4-1 at one point we need some god damn center backs. Wenger's failure to spend is pissing me off. Need gator football to change my luck in the sports world haha
Gators almost always beat the Vols. Tennessee are fake football. They always have a slug for a quarterback and more slugs for running backs. Tennessee has hype, that's all. They are slugs who need to learn how to tackle.
Probably my favorite non championship season

Driskel's best game as a Gator. Wow! What could have been if he was put in a spread offense with a good, consistent OC. What a shame.

I've re-watched this game maybe 20 times. Love it.
0:20 Tennessee thinks they're back. Key word-thinks. Been that way for a decade now
Next year there suppose to be back again... Even though Florida was the Eastern division champion last year.

they say that they're gonna be back but deep down inside they know they're gonna suck.
Can you upload a full game version?
Damn tht 2012 team was a defense away from getting Dooley another year.
Their WR group was amazing at Tenn. Just not enough. Gator bait.
So this is Gators heaven Glad i found your videos bro
If this is there idea of being back I hope it stays this way forever!
Gator fan but Dunbar clipped on the Frankie Hammond td
Not a clip. Not even close. You must be high or something.
Awkward moment looking how good Jeff Driskel played but back then.. I really hated him
TheSLurppp in the NFL now

All these TN fans thinking they're tough shit and are going to beat us this year. Lololoolol
Go Gators and arsenal lol
Liverpool up for you tomorrow, Mate.
Godiola good god that was a beatdown by the reds. Wenger out. Hate that old frenchman
Beat Down? 4-3 Haha, just poor defensively by both sides. You need Maurizio Sarri in my opinion.
Godiola i mean it was 4-1 at one point we need some god damn center backs. Wenger's failure to spend is pissing me off. Need gator football to change my luck in the sports world haha
Trey Burton isa beast
Why do we even schedule Florida? Just take the loss.
Because there in The SEC and we always play Florida....
The vols think they're back

Uh Payton Manning and Tee Martin.
Imagine letting a LB score on you😂
gator fans you think you guys are so good but look at the 2013 season.
And even for how bad we were, we still beat you. How sad is that.
Well look at butch jones and his crew and watch this year #gatorssuck
