Allan has created a link between academic thinking and practical operation. This link is what needs to be taught in universities

no such link exists and he certainly didn't create it.

Savory told Salatin: "You're not sustainable! If your neighbors turned into a desert, so would you." If that can be said about Joel Salatin, how much more can it be said about all of us? Savory's Holistic Mmnt mindset applies to every sector of life. We do better when we work together.

Thank you Joel for telling us about holistic management, and teaching so many about regenerative agriculture.

I have no personal experience, just researching the subject of my own interest and to get some knowledge for the future perhaps. Why there is so much opposition to the holistic approach, that it doesn't work, that there are no scientific evidence after 40 years of program existence. I don't honestly get it and I am confused. I guess I will have to try myself one day :-)

glad to hear that Salatin endorses Savory. That means that Pollock knows about him. Confer with the seemingly contrary thinking of another popular de-desertification expert, Dr. Liu, also on UA-cam. Maybe there's hope for Mother Earth. But can we get these experts to agree on a method?????????????????

This Savory management principal seems to have been covered by Bio-dynamics over 100 years ago. I just don't get what is so novel here.

Joel, you're killin me ! That ain't normal ( healthy normal) ! All that tech mentioned in your dream world response, solar powered self propelled egg mobiles maybe, so they could be moved more often it only if the farmer is still gonna go check on an often & only if you can insure they won't get run over etc. ! Let's remember, fuels like gas & diesel still produce toxic fumes which we breathe in (& My husband can't afford a 2XL disposable - again, bad in itself that way- full body suit with gloves that he can whip off & back on - to be able to use their tech gadgets- to fix these trucks without getting full of toxic greases & things daily !) & those trucks are needed to transport all the components for all the components for all the tech stuff ( & all the trucks & all the parts & all the extra road repair & ... I'll shut up on THAT now...!) !!! All so a farmer can sit on his ass, getting unhealthy, & forget to check his hens while becoming addicted to fb ( or worse) & all the people in town go back to raising dogs & cats for pets instead of backyard chickens anymore ( decent sized yards anyways, & community gardens etc) & pretty soon farmers are looked down on again as kids ( 80, 90 % ?) taken to visit one get grossed out by a farmer having to risk actually STEPPING in POOP ! "OMG, ewww, so stupid to do this gross stuff for a living, I'll never do that. My momma says I can be anything I want & I choose making up dumd stories about super creepy space worlds & I'll use trees to print them - look, there's plenty to waste again, see ? Thanks eco-heroes !- but, wait, no, I'll make an e-book, NO, a virtual reality experience only ! I'll pave over all these unnecessary trees over here to build my cool studio & storefront ! Because if I dream it, it must be good, cause I used my 'magination , & we all know that's all that really matters ! Oh yeah, I'll rescue that dumb farmers kids from a life like that by hiring them with a bonus & a poster of hot girls & cool cars ! " .
Yes, human nature being what it is we'll always have the pull back down to degradation & foolishness to deal with, BUT I sure ain't ( well, ill try not to & I pray a lot) gonna start if off going back that way myself ! Not saying absolutely no tech, but I can't see it being a healthy enough thing to support unless also clearly advocating using it as little as possible & with a lot more carefulness & prayer this time around !
BTW, I'm no-one from nowhere ( from dairy farm ( mainly conventional) family in WI & have a unique background including only about a 6th grade formal education, if that, & a lot of bad habits ( thinking & speaking related) I'm not completely past, so, hopefully you can get what my feeling were as I heard you saying those things ! I'll go back & watch the rest now.... ( also, in general, I love your stuff & thanks SO much for all your work & efforts at spreading the word & knowledge !)

While you're right to fear technology, it can greatly improve productivity.
Have you heard the saying, "Work smarter not harder"?

You clearly have not taken even 5 minutes to understand what Savory is saying. Please stop with the Stalinist vegetarian propaganda.

@@tonytony1035 dude my auntie knew the co-founders of (australian) permaculture really well (and one of their mothers) - I've been following and implementing these kind ideas since before Savory did his lie-filled Ted Talk. You say propaganda, i think that's a projection about Savory's unsubstantiated claims. For sure he gets headlines that way but he's yet to have good science behind him, or even good demonstration documentation.
Most of the cattle running in Australia cannot be switched to HM because the watering and daily moving operations are cost prohibitive in outback Australia where 90% of our cattle a produced (they are only finished in feed lots for months not years, unlike USA).
