I just did this to mine this afternoon I followed step by step and it worked perfect. I used a magnifying glass to see all the pins on the board I literally just touched all of the pins to make sure. This was a great video and saved me from buying a new or used one.
This video was exactly what I needed! Thanks so much.
Job complete.
Did this on my son's 05 Ram who's rpm gauge didn't work. Worked beautifully, now he has tach again, he's so pumped. Thanks for the video.
Great to hear!
Great tip, thanks a bunch. Tach works perfect after watching this video. Now need to fix the cruise control turning off on its own all the time, maybe it's another loose chip.
Great to hear!
Bro. Thank. Did a shown and I really didn't think that it would work, and it did. I never comment, but I have to say thank you. All the best, and keep up the good content. Thanks
I did mine recently. Thanks for the video, it was super easy. I thought I would have to have my tac rebuilt.
Glad I could help!
Hey! Thanks for the video.
Maybe it’s me, but the music in the background makes it really hard to concentrate on what ur saying...(again prob me and being easily distracted).
Thanks again! Super helpful
yeah .. i noticed after editing the video that my music was a bit loud
It happens! But it doesn’t outweigh the helpfulness of ur vids, so thanks again!
Bro, that is dope thanks for the info worked purfectly, just like u laid it out, hate it when people post stuff that is incorrect, GREAT VIDEO, fixed the tachometer running backwards on my 2006 ram 1500 4.7l 2wd
So, did the needle flip all the way back over? Because in the beginning of the video, you can see that the needle is UNDER the little stopper and at the and of the video, it's on the top of it....
yes I flipped it all the way around
@@FalconsGarage what if mine just needs to be flipped around? Lol
@@FalconsGaragehow did you flip it around
Worked perfectly love these vids!
Glad it helped!
Left a like for the vid. Here's another for the music choice 👍🏻
Thanks for the tach tip! It solved my problem!
Worked great for me thanks for the upload
Glad I could help
I found if you hammer down on it and hold it at 5500 it'll flip back over.... not the best thing but it keeps you from having to take your display off
+Bo Patro thas a new one! haha
Yeah mines doing that lol if I floor it, it somewhat work but goes back to zero
@Falconsgarage
Thanks for the video mine stop working and i soldier each feed and the rpm hand worked!!! But when I got looking now my voltage and fuel gauge is stuck in the center! Do you know how i can fix it? Because both of those hands were working until I solder the rpm thing. Please let me know thanks.
worked great thanks!
My durango not working that well ...ill go 60 mph but i feel like its going 40 mph ??? How do i fix it
check the actual speed with a gps or something .. also do you have different size tires or rims?
One way you can check your speed is to download an app for your phone. Jist search for speedometer app! They are usually pretty accurate too!
So do you use solder or just touch the hot soldering gun to each tip ? Also how hot should the soldering gun be? Thanks so much for the video upload
depends on your skill level .. if you can resolder them would be better .. if not just touching them would be sufficient .. as far as how hot .. well most soldering irons dont have a setting.. so i would say just hot enough to melt the solder
Hi saw video did as you did everything worked for a couple days but then my speedometer stopped working any hints where to start looking for problem
Wow, u da man, i hope it works on mine, i have the same problem
Good luck!
Mine is doing the same thing, the needle is on the wrong side of the peg 😭
I will try this, free fix
Good luck
@@FalconsGarage got this done today, the issue is now fixed. Thanks for the video 😁
@@idabomb00 that is awesome!! Glad to hear!!
SUPER. AWESOME. TNKS. SIR
I see the problem, my chip has became loose resulting that my tach has stopped working on my 2006 Ram 1500 4x4 SLT.
Could you possibly tell me which type of soldering gun you have so i can purchase one myself, that is the last part i need to fix the rpm gauge
its just a thin soldering pencil nothing special
here is a link to one

@@FalconsGarage Thanks🙏
Hey thanks for the video on the tach issue based on how mine acts I feel this is the same issue. Mine has different incorrect function, ranging from not reading, reading low and or high and reading correctly.
I notice on the small knock out you have a hole where you mounted something sometime and later got rid of it. I have an identical hole, what did you have yours for, mine was air horns LOL
good luck with the repair. as far as the hole I really don't know. most of this videos are from cars I work on, about 85% of my work are for used car lots so I see allot of the same cars over and over, allot of common issues.
Will the truck run an drive with out the cluster plugged in?
I don't think so, but not too sure. I know the chevy 03-06 will but the ford wont ... sorry
My speedo is like this, can I do same thing but on different chips?
Music bro. Make a n instruction vid with music cranked.
You got it
I need to know the location on a manual transmission. Where the speedometer cable is located on the transmission
its usually on the tail end of the transmissions if its not electronic
Something is wrong. Your check engine light came on after you did the fix.
yeah I had left some sensors disconnected while I was checking it.
So... Just took the truck in to a shop for over over heating...had to replace the pump, thermostat. timing cover gasket, upper radiator hose, as well as the lower hose.. As I was leaving, I noticed the RPM wasn't working.. My question is: Can this be affected from under the hood? Like when they worked on it..maybe bumped it, or disconnected it? Every other gauge works...oh...and now the digital thing that tells me how many miles left of gas is WAY off...less than a quarter tank and it says I have 104 miles left.. lol.. Both of these were working when I took the truck in.. I suppose it could just be coincidence.. I'm not a truck expert... a little feedback would be wonderful! I have a 2006 Dodge Ram (In case that helps) Thankyou!
if I had to take a while guess I would say its just a coincidence, as far as you gas been off.
when your replacing things in the cooling system you do need to turn on the car "purge" the system and test drive it to make sure it dosent over heat, and if it does need to be refilled you need to let it cool off BEFORE topping it off and then turn it back on to RE-test, its not just replacing the parts and give it back to the costumer ....... probably another 2-3hrs worth of testing after replacing the parts
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!
no problem
RPM not working. First in morning when start it’s work perfect but after time start car it’s not working. Any suggestions?
i think you would need somebody that has a scanner .. to check the rpm once is hot .. to see if its a sensor issue or a tach or bcm issue
Falcon's Garage I’ll try it thanks for reply
I'm going to do the same to mine. I also have low fluid light on. Any suggestions ?
+Josh McAdam do you mean the oil pressure light? the RED oil light?
+Falcon's Garage The washer fluid light on the tachometer is always on
Top off the washer fluid with OEM certified MOPAR washer fluid.
I did this and now my tach starts at 2400 rpms. Like 2400 is 0.... What to do?
I would double check all the pins on the chips to make sure you didnt accidentally solder them together. Could also be a possibility that the actual chip is fried itself.
your truck did not mark the gasoline either or if my speedometer does not mark the revolutions or the gasoline that process works for mine
HI IM FROM MEXICO AND I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM SO THE QUESTION IS WHERE I FOUND THIS CHIPS OR WHAT IS THE NAMES ??? CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE ???
+MARIO DANIEL VASQUEZ RIOS I honestly havent had to replace the chip doing these procedure. let me get a hold of my buddy that sell me the ships for the chevy cluster to see if he carries them or at least the name of them.
Good video. Get rid of the music!!!
lol
Ineed my fixed who in dallas tx can do this ? LMK
You can do it yourself it’s so simple
Music is distracting
What part Numbers chips plis
for what?
@@FalconsGarage of the microprocessors you replace
@@joaquinsandoval871 I didn’t replace anything. I talk about it on the video
Making me seasick watching this...
