Hi bud my vectra c had the same fault after cleaning the throttle body and after a couple of hours I figured out that when I put the body back on the gasket had twisted slightly and was letting air in thus causing it to run rough on tick over I purchased a new gasket off eBay I assembled it very carefully making sure it sat correctly and wa la she ran sweet as a nut try that first check that gasket make sure its not sucking air by using easy start around throttle body base if it revvs up when you apply it then that's your problem
sound as if the coil pack is missing the insulators crack and break thus shorting to ground or just coil pack pcb failing if the insulators are cracked they can be repaired using heat shrink tubing as they are not a spare part hope this helps Enzo
Same problem here. Throttle body cleaned, but nothing. ECU changed, because other problems. So. Any suggestion? Vacuum pipes, inlet or perhaps PCV valve?
Sounds wierd, but I had this on my Zaffy, and it turned out that there was a vacuum pipe which was disconnected, make sure all inlet and vacuum pipes are all on and not split!
Very good point. On another 1.8 Zafira i had that same problem after it was pulled loose cleaning the air intake ducting. Unfortunately wasn't the problem with this silver one.
My Zafira 1.8 has had the same problems as in the video since the day before yesterday. But only after I changed the spark plugs and air filter. At first I thought it was the ignition coil and installed a new one, to no avail. After reading this I hope I just accidentally loosened a hose when changing the air filter. Update: I found the error on mine. When I was changing the air filter, I unnoticed loosened a hose that goes into the intake manifold. Today I put the hose back on and it's running again, only the check engine light is still on, but that should be the minor problem. I only found the error thanks to your comments and even though you may not be reading this because your comments are a few years old, I thank you very much.
Had poorly runnig zafira. Error codes are often not very spesific, but only suggest a list of items to check: MAF, lambda/O2-sensors, EGR-valve, ignition module, etc. Nothing worked. On my engine it complained about cylinder 3 misfire. Could first not find any faults, but on closer inspection an almost invisible gray soot spot revealed a tiny sparc burn through on the ignition module spark plug connection insulating pipe. The hole was on top and partly behind the rubber seal between the pipe and the spark plug. I reparied the hole with glue and high temp, high voltage crimp insulation. Has been running smoothly after.
Cylinder 3 misfireing could be 90% ecu internal fault (it has very thin wires and in time and vibrations those wires break contact) you should check with a LED (not a light bulb) to see the command for injector 3. It has permanent + and grounded by ECU.
My guess would be the pcv (positive crank ventilation) valve is clogged and/or leaking air two take silver cover of and you should see black circle above oil filler I think from memory see of you can here a vacuum leak But also disassemble it to check the diaphragm hasn't split
My 1.6 has a habit of breaking the spark plugs, when it breaks one it runs like its broken the crankshaft and everything. It did also once manage to end up with a half dead coil pack, lots of warning lights, zero power, running rough, not at all happy
1:51 stud with no nut means some one other than a mechanic has worked on it so It could be anything. You`d wanna do a thorough diagnosis including comp test and check EVERYTHING with the intention of restoring it to as per factory. If you look at the ends of the spark plugs it should indicate by color and deposits how the engine is burning fuel.
That strange thing is the pcv or purge valve and its most likely the cause of the running issue. Its probably stuck open and pulling air in from the tank...the lean code is a clue.
I had four ripped fuel injectors , so i think it is a construction error or the manufacterer never pushed down hard enough on the injectors but used the bracket and bolts to push all of the injectors down.
you can heard the leaking ear noise, check the pipe going from the evap valve to the throttle. is the valve behind the air filter box. in my one was disconnected at the throttle body, and y was having the same problem tam you. I hope it helps
Right ! Could be also the rubber elbow fitting at the end of the plastic tube. Mihe was cracked severly and I did repair it with self sealing rubber band. Cheers
Try reflashing or replacing the ecu, if all of your coil packs are being spoilt a month after replacing them then your ecu could be cooking them. The ecu units tend to fail on these engine designs because the designers put the ecu right next to the engine.
@@matthewking5612 There is a way to extend the wires and pass all of the wires through the firewall of the car, that way you can keep the ECU inside of the driver's compartment, underneath the glove box, or somewhere in the dashboard.

Has someone solved? The same problem here, Cylinder #4 misfire. The engine hesitate for the first 2 minutes after ignition and then everything works perfectly...
Hayden Hayes My Astra had the same thing, nearly stalling and revving itself, then stalling again. Ended up being dirty airflow sensor and throttle body.
I didn't get any warning lights or codes. At least the mechanic didn't check for codes, but there certainly was no light. It just stuttered and idled rough. After cleaning the sensor and throttle body it ran just fine.
yeah it runs like a dream after doing that, its been about 2 months and I'm thinking the throttle body might need another clean because its doing it again but only so slightly (the rev dropping when turning off the airconditioning )
You have to get plug close to see if there are fire alarm 04 cylinders I think you're only running onto so the thing because behind the throttle body which came off of my am I really want ropey put the pipe back on it I'm fine

I had commented on this, I did figure out the problem apparently its a common fault with the earthing inside the ECU to fix it I had to ground the throttle body to the ECU along with the accelerator pedal.
Hello Jay, can you elaborate more on how to do this? Do you pull a separate wire from the throttle body ground pin to the negative pole on the battery? And then do the same on the accelerator pedal sensor? Cheers Nikolo My 2004 Opel Zafira 1.8 petrol will crank but not start. Before this happened I had same symptoms as the video. In the beginning the car had bad acceleration and bad fuel economy and I could not keep it at a steady speed on the highway. I have changed the MAF sensor (brand is Johns autoteile), fuel filter, cleaned throttle body (and the little hole), and also got a new second hand throttle body. I believe fuel pressure is ok because fuel comes out when I press the valve on the fuel line. It has a new battery and I do have spark. I once got it to idle, which was rough idle like the video. Hi m8 I had the same problem with my zafira What you need is a erg valve cleaner spray the maf sensor and the carb and get a new air filter of change air filter to a performance filter spray the carp on cold twice 15min in between has well the maf sensor the run the engine and spray in the carp twice that should do the trick
correct. but the exhaust dirts over time can block the very small exhaust recirculation channels inside the intake manifold. Needs to be cleaned (means removing/opening, since sprays poorly can do their job there...) Had this on my Z18XE Astra convertible.
pbcanal i thought the same, and it's original MAF was faulty and a cheap chinese MAF. However, i tried three other genuine SIEMENS maf's and a forth taken straight from my working Zafira 1.8 (the same spec car of same age) and no change. Still knackered and undriveable. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Not enough vibration for missfire
