I actually do that 😂 clean makeup with no mascara and I just curl my lashes: does the job, looks more natural and there’s nothing I hate more than removing mascara 🤢
I rarely wear mascara. I use GrandeLash Serum and it really REALLY works. People have said "What mascara are you wearing?" Even when I have nothing on. The main reason I don't wear it is because I'm Afraid that my beautiful VERY long curled lashes might fall out when I take off the mascara.
I sent you the screenshots of this ad twice and I’m so glad you reviewed their sh*tty mascara. Now everyone will know they are frauds. Also, I’ve seen so many comments on these ads saying “this is the best mascara”. I have to wonder if those are fake accounts. I’ve commented on one of them calling them out on how you guys are using the Sky High and actually had someone arguing with me about it.
From what i'm getting from other videos there is now a novelty called paid reviews on some sites.

This seems to sadly happen to A LOT of influencers😪... I would 100% report it to Maybelline. Also who the heck is buying dodgy mascara on the internet when you can buy amazing mascara for around $5 at the grocery store.
Different countries unfortunately have different laws and therefore get through loop holes. If the footage has been registered for copyright you can find the source from their location and 100% sue them.
True loopholes....different countries, different laws....even for blurred faces in one country will be hidden may be shown in another...
I commented on their ad saying that is wasn’t even their mascara it was sky high and said they are scamming people. Funny they deleted it

It was difficult to remove!! felt like a waterproof mascara it really clung to my lashes and came off in clumps 😂

I definitely think that the law needs to consider this issue, I don't know if it is worth getting some of the other the tubers that have been affected and a few affected make up brands to come together to fight this issue because its potentially damaging to the reputation of the brands and you tubers not to mention that there is no way of knowing if these fake products are safe!

Contact Mayblline as there may be trademark or advertising infringements. Also maybelline May be able to contact the Uk or German cosmetics regulator. The regulator has ways of looking for the brand and to see if they are registered to sell in Europe and are even compliant with European regulations.
The fact that you can clearly see you’re using the maybelline sky high mascara in that video is hilarious 😂

static watermarks are vv easy to remove, btw! a dynamic watermark (or two!) might help keep your footage from being stolen in the future
I'm sorry that creeps are stealing your footage. I don't have TikTok, Thank 🙏🏻 God!! I do however know from personal experience, dealing with Tarot + Oracle decks, of being ripped off!! Especially on Amazon. I've bought decks and received an utterly obvious fake!! Amazon did refund my money, but wouldn't accept my scathing review.
I wonder if you can report it directly to the consumer financial protection bureau CFPB… that’s the US regulator, not sure the equivalent UK regulator. They could then do the leg work to shut it down and fine them.

What if you reach out to Ali express or whatever random website actually sells this? Maybe report that their seller is a scammer and that this harms their website as well... They might be able to contact that seller.

They probs won't respond because the emails etc are not coming from a solicitor. They know you are not serious about going to a lawyer. I don't know if you get a lawyer to draft an official letter that you can use over and over (or if they would want you to pay over and over for them to draft a new response everytime that happens.) If you haven't you could speak to a solicitor to see what your options are.

I saw that ad on Facebook (I’m in Sweden). I could definitely tell the mascara you and the other people were using in the video wasn’t the mascara they were advertising. And the maybelline one is such a popular mascara that anyone who is interested in makeup knows what the packaging looks like by now. I didn’t want to comment on the video and be followed by similar ads for months, so I just reported it as a scam.

The businesses sound like they are not operating in the UK. Most seam like scams websites t get the money and not send the product.
Honey contact Facebook Ads and report them! They would be able to know who is responsible, because someone has payed for the commercial...

And copyright is also not a thing in certain Asian countries
Sounds like a typical drop shopping product hence loads of random websites with no real credibility or contact details. Same with the ad the sellers are just copy and pasting an ad into their fb ad account and setting it to show everywhere. It is against fb guidelines so if enough people report it should be taken down. Sadly the people advertising and selling these products have probably never touched the product and are following some ‘gurus’ advice to make money online 🤷🏼♀️
I wish there was some way to sue them for the money you would have been paid if you had really done an advert for them. People in the U.S. get sued for false advertisement a lot. Love you Sophie.
