As stated in the video I built the puzzle in such a way that I can take it apart and recover all three Petaminxes if I chose.
If a normal petaminx takes 8 hours to solve, I wonder how long this takes.
2 days without breaks
less than 8 hrs as side ones does not turn with all faces (only 6 faces per side ones) and middle one have only two face movable ..

1:04 I'm no expert, but a normal petaminx has 3x10^996 combinations, so 3x that number. but some of the parts are mixed together, so in a nutshell, I'm estimating it has 10^4482 combinations
by the way, an examinx has 7.58x10^1533 combinations, and a 17x17x17 has 66.9 quinquagintatrecentillion combinations.

that's very cool!!! i suppose it wouldn't be the hardest thing to solve, considering one piece of a pentaminx can't cross over to another pentaminx, so it's deceitfully easy (in comparison to first impressions)

Petaminx of course! Actually it depends on what you like, If you want to race but already have a good 3x3x3 then the new Dayan Megaminx. If you like cuboids then the 4x4x6. If you want easy then the Pyraminx. If you want something by me then my Fisher Cube or one of the Eggs.

Would it be possible to make a version in which the pieces are exchangeable between the three fused petaminxes? Or does the internal geometry permanently prevent something like that from happening?

Most puzzles are pointless since they are just variations of the same thing.
Most bandaged / fused puzzles have their own new solving problems. Just because some are classed as easier it doesn't mean they can be solved with the same technique. Try solving a Rubik's Cube where only 3 faces (R & U & F) can move to see what I mean. But yes, it's a novelty and fun to make and show off and get to see the reactions. Ultimately I may sell it or just make something else from the 3 puzzles.

I've solved a 3x3 with only 3 faces and it's really not very difficult, as long as the solver has a decent understanding of edge orientation and corner permutation. Though it does, as you said, put a new spin to the puzzle.
