Through all the terror that every single man in this forsaken war went through, the deaths of thousands, the sanity that was deprived; the families of women and children killed the absolute sadness each one of them must have felt must have been catastrophic. The average person today cannot even begin to comprehend what every man in this war must have felt. four years of sheer chaos in Europe with many dead making it Sisyphean to even be prosperous. The people who went through this war were all soldiers of their own but the soldiers were warriors.

Anti-war films are impossible to produce due to the fact war in and of itself is unavoidable. Smudly butler, who wrote war is a racket, stated, "all wars are banker wars."
Logically and historically all films which are produced with an Anti-war message are either funded by propaganda paid for by the aristocracy of society to demonize the "war fighter" or the "nation" or to promote the peasantry to die in wars for aristocratic plutocracy of banking house.
Philosophically, there can be no Anti-war film. It's just propaganda for banks, corporations and intelligence agencies to socially engineer the civilian population to mass slaughter or to mass disinterest in self defense of their ancestral lands.

You could see in the trench line right before they go into combat, it’s when the realization hits. “Wait..this shit is really happening…” and then once it’s over it’s like you don’t recognize yourself. Your changed, the explosions the deaths. It’s now “wait, this shit really happened.” You don’t even have the time to go HOLY SHIT, I KILLED THAT GUY. HOLY SHIT, THAT GUY NEXT TO ME JUST DIED. And that’s how PTSD forms cause your body can’t react properly to what’s going on and at some point it turns natural.

In the English dub the main lead told one soldier that his mother was very afraid of sending him to war as she thinks that he'll be dead in no time and in the end he was literally got killed in no time(just a few seconds before the war ends). How sad is that😢

Imaginar que eran personas como tu o yo
Con una vida, familia, amigos, toda una vida por delante
Ver esa felicidad en sus rostros para luego ver como acaba
Como acaban las cosas de una manera que ni ellos pensaban
    Es realmente triste

I’m a history wiz. I love all historical warfares and empires and I love to learn about them. But when I watched this movie, it really changed my perspective on everything and it made me question the world more than normal. Not only this film, but many others, along with real-life war footage, you can tell that these young men were lied too and arent happy about what they’re doing. Not only that but they’re entire country ends up paying the price. Wether it be the lost life of family and friends, economical loss, and even those that do survive suffer the stated above plus PTSD, hallucinations, nightmares and much more. The people get generalized as this stereotype when in reality they were as innocent as those young men. I know that most of the vets that survived are long gone, and most likely in a better place. But it still hurts. Even interviews with WW2 vets are the most emotional thing i’ve seen. Young men were lied to because the government and military couldn’t suck up their pride for the better of their people. Especially if you think about what our eorld has turned too. Modern society is a failure. This is not what these men fought for. It’s really depressing, but also aggravating, atleast for me, because of the young lives lost, but also because the government and military didnt care. Instead of having them sit at their trench on high alert until armistice, they sent a full blown attack when it wasn’t needed. Alot of young men could’ve been saved, including Paul, but no. The government and military’s pride was “too important” compared to the luves of their soldiers, and all who went against it were shot in a firing line. This makes me sad, but I cannot do anything about it accept study it. This is alot but I just had to get some feelings off my chest because this genuinely makes me sick to my stomach, but also depressed and sympathetic towards those who suffered loss, although most of then may be dead today, I still give my condolences. May all those young men, French, German, American, British, Austrian, no matter where they’re from, Rest In Peace. I know noone is probably going to read this, but I still felt like I needed to leave this here.

incredible comment. i wasn't taught about WW1 and WW2 in my school since our country participated in no such wars (not directly atleast). I truly believe that everyone should be made aware of these human made horrors - regardless of it being a part of 'their history'. this movie, hacksaw ridge along with firebird, dunkirk and many more really opened my eyes to the true nature of war. and it's a *vile* truth.

Just know war is not a fun thing and i just see so many people saying ''i would bravely go to the millitary and fight for my country'' i was one of those people to and when i told my mom about she was in tears and i rethinked why war is such a gruesome thing i rethinked of the people that got drafted into the millitary like my great grandfather that survived. Guys never ever think that war is cool it is gruesome it will break you if you survive even give you PTSD i wish this comment opened your eyes of the gruesome thing called war.
