      Great edit, easy like and sub. Excited to see what you do next. Don't have any specific ideas for an edit unfortunately. Two of my favourite films are The Lighthouse and Prisoners, so if you manage to find a good edit opportunity from either of those, it'll be an instant click from me.
      Also, if this was originally a TikTok, it might be worth releasing as a UA-cam Short as well? I'm not sure, just a thought.

  • @Atom-Fire

    This works way better than in 28 years later, because it's not only accurate to the era, it's speaking upon the horrors of war.

    • @StormingSummer
      @StormingSummer Місяць тому +77

      I think it works just as well in 28 years because it encapsulates the repetitive nature of living every day as if it were your last

    • @Atom-Fire
      @Atom-Fire Місяць тому +54

      @@StormingSummer I would challenge that, i would say the very line that is repeated the most "Boots" doesn't have the same effect when it's applied to a non military film.
      Yes the struggle of survival is repetitive, but the poem/song highlights something in a literal sense, the endless rythmic repeat of boots marching in sync, endlessly. The sound of men walking in step to their death, endlessly.

    • @StormingSummer
      @StormingSummer Місяць тому +33

      You could argue that’s even less true as far as WW1 goes
      The poem specifically describes British Infantry marching endlessly across South Africa capturing settlement after settlement - quite literally marching endlessly - whereas the Western Front is stagnant and unmoving, rarely ever seeing an advance
      In the lens of the Rage virus, survivors are always on their feet; their *only option* is to run. Even 28 years after the initial outbreak. I think that makes the recurrent chanting of “Boots” fitting for the trailer
      But I still think that it works well with the scenes of the battalions marching onto the frontline, as well as those running between the trenches

    • @Atom-Fire
      @Atom-Fire Місяць тому +24

      @@StormingSummer Well if we are diving deeper into this poem, in regards to marching endlessly, it is not speaking upon capturing settlement after settlement, it is as it describs a "slog" repeating this more than once, moreover line "boots moving up an down again" The Soldiers are going to the frontline, and returning, they are switching out Soldiers along with replacing them. They did the same thing in WWI. I'll say this, British infantry marching and "slogging over Africa" is much closer to WWI (considering fighting takes place there) than it has to do with a boy and his father walking/hunting.
      But besides that. I still believe this is a greater fit for the era and theme, considering it was written about a war only 11 years before world war I, and it was recorded *DURING* world war I. I don't dislike their useage in 28 years later, it works. But it is speaking on the exact subject in this theme, war.
      And finally, the poem directly quotes that "It-is-not-fire-devils, dark, or anything, But boots-boots-boots-boots-movin' up an' down again,". The author is not scared of fire darkness, devils, or anything else, he is just terrified by the endless noise of men marching to war. That doesn't work quite as well, when you literally have devils (zombies), and darkness to fear lol.
