Welcome back buddy! I'm looking forward to this one. I was a bit underwhelmed in places on Moment, but I found myself going back to it more and more over the years - definitely a slow burner - but worth the investment of time. Hope you're feeling recovered and rested now my friend!
Hey there Steve, ah mate thanks so much for the kind words there. It is hugely appreciated and I know what you mean, I thought that there were - if you'll pardon the pun - moments where that record shined and there are here too but for me, I think maybe I've just grown out of this a little. Still quality stuff though!
Ah that's awesome! I hope that you'll enjoy it lots, I am sure that there will be something for you here I just wish there was a little bit more for me you know? haha
Nice review. Great to see you back! Good to hear your views, particular on the tracks you most enjoyed. I reviewed the copy with the bonus tracks and I would have been quite happy (as I mentioned) for them not to be there as I don’t think they added anything but overall really enjoyed the rest. Look forward to more! Glad Bloodstock was good and I enjoyed the various clips!
Thanks so much mate! That is hugely appreciated for both the kind words and missing the reviews haha - I do often think, would be people miss me if I just packed up this little channel? Bloodstock was mint! Arctangent this weekend, then one more festival and then sleep until the end of the year I think hahaha - not quite!
@@TheMetalTris I think without doubt you would be missed. I genuinely enjoy all of your content and I have checked out many bands because of it. Keep up the great work!
DT's been reliably pretty good, but each new record eventually just leads to me listening to Character a bunch of times instead. And always take a break when you need it!
That's the thing, I think it's the reliability of things that can make bands a little tricky to still get my head around. Still though, you've got to respect their legacy and what they have done for the sound right? I'm just glad that they're still going too! Thanks for the kind words my friend, it's not fun when things become not fun anymore you know? It's a clumsy way of putting it I know haha
Thanks so much! That is very kind of you to say :) I think that sometimes just taking a break is important and getting that time to recharge a little bit. This summer has been a doozy! Thanks for still tuning in after all of these years!
I'm not new, but I have a new name (formally SerialMiller), but I'm glad you took time for yourself to refresh during this somewhat of a downtime of album releases. I've tried to get into Dark Tranquility, but I find that the highs on albums are quite highs, but the other songs on albums tend to leave me bored as well. It's disappointing to hear that this album still has that same issue. I am keen to check out "One of us is Gone " though.
Thanks so much Justin and loving the new name as well, you're smashing it. Appreciate the kind words here my friend. I think that's the thing, I used to really like the band and that being said I don't think that this is a bad album by any means but perhaps I have just grown out of it personally. There's a hell of a lot more stuff that's coming down the pipeline!
I find the albums work great as albums and entire pieces. You dont get songs that truly blast you off. Most songs retain around the same quality of sound. They work to me as adventures to go on with the band. Each with its own unique vibe and atmosphere.
Hey Robert! Great to hear from you as well dude, so much stuff coming out this year but I definitely think that they have saved the best for last with some of the material that is coming out in October for sure. Exciting times!
I am looking forward to review this album it all depends if we have electricity in Puerto Rico since we have a tropical storm. Missed your reviews my friend. If you don’t know Dark Tranquility by now would be weird 😂. Seen them twice live.
No way! Well that's one more time than I've seen them. Man I hope you're doing OK with the storms, it seems things are just getting more and more crazy in the US and Puerto Rico with the storms these days - be safe out there, protect that Couch at all costs!!
Oh yeah, that will be interesting. I have heard about this band but not properly delved into them yet, I'll definitely do so though soon. Thanks for the reminder! Let me know what you think when the record is out there.
I would say that there's a good balance throughout the record of having clean vocals but that unmistakable snarl is definitely very much still there so I wouldn't worry in case you were haha!

@@TheMetalTris the couch will stay dry
the last album wasn't all that great so my expectation isn't really very high. I'm more curious on how the new Cemetery Skyline will turn out.

How many tracks have clean vocals?
