Amazing fishing and vid bud, glad ur outa the worlds greatest lockdown and out there again. Ur even rocking the lockdown hair cut, turn that into a mullet and ull need to fight the fisho chick's off with ur paddle, ha ha. Keep the vids coming.
I am so envious. Still a land based angler, but working towards my Hobie. Love your catch and release routine, but I would arrange all those bream on my Weber barbecue. Yum. Great clip my man.
Thanks mate, the hobie definitely makes life a bit easier but don't discount landbased. I've had some great trips out in gippy where I've left the yak behind and just walked around fishing, just takes a bit more effort to find the fish and get to the areas you want to try
@@HawkesyFishing Do you have any spots I should consider? I’m not too familiar with Gippsland Lakes - in fact, I know nothing of the area. Any lead would be magnificent, as I’m thinking of taking a few days over there for a fish. Thanks in advance, young fella. Alvy
@@alvybuffon4162 for landbased i look for places that have areas down the front that I can get to and walk the flats like marlo, Mallacoota and lake tyers
Great video of some excellent fishing. I'm from Northern NSW and looking to fish the Gippsland area, starting from North and heading South, any suggestions for areas I shouldn't miss?
The whole area is great its just which system is firing at the time. The only place I'd say is a must visit is Mallacoota but any system in gippy is worth fishing
Looks like you guys had a awesome trip 👍Great video too Hawksey ! I’m going to up to Gippsland for a few days in the Hobies in a couple of weeks so hopefully get on to a few as well ! I’m looking at getting a new bream outfit for flicking light plastics and hards got my heart set on a Millerrods grub freak but what rods/reels do you like using for your bream fishing? Thanks, Jack
Thanks Mate! It was a great trip. I run a millerod grubfreak for plastics matched up with a 2004 exist and it does a brilliant job, Aaron actually just bought one and this was his first trip using it and loved it. The grub freak is also a great flats surface rod, I just like using a completely different leader setup for surface and plastics so end up picking to use it for surface or plastics for the day.
@@HawkesyFishing Perfect mate thanks for the info , what set up do you use for throwing jerk baits/cranks ? also do you have a brand of jerk baits or cranks you like using or a bit of a mix ?
@@jackmorris942 for jerkbaits i run a twitchfreak with a 2506 daiwa luvias and cranks i just use my trout outfit which is a majorcract sky road t702m and a 2004 certate. This trip I was fishing duo realis jerkbaits, daiwa double clutches and cranka cranks but I do mix it up a bit

Save your money on the Hobie and just get a decent normal kayak around 12ft and use the rest of your money on gear.
Looked like a great trip, some really good fish 👍👏
Thanks mate, it was a great trip
