You guys are a riot. I feel like I'm sitting in your living room so if you hear another voice joining in... ;) This is my project for tomorrow. I see improvements every day. What makes these videos so helpful is the details you give (brush positions, color mixes) and the fact that you do everything on a gradient, broken down into small, easy to follow steps. Thanks for that. :)
I love all your tutorials. But adding in your process of choosing colors is such a great addition. I feel like that is what is missing in many tutorials. They may talk about basic color theory, but don’t go much deeper! I appreciate this!!
I gots to say...I came to you for some botanical drawing lessons and tips, and I have been a fan since then. Obviously, I stay for the talent and knowledge in my watercolor journey. However, Jenna. Adding John to the videos and hearing you two carrying on so naturally, like great friends do and just being one's kooky self...this is what I'm now living for. It's a total recipe for success. Learning some theory, techniques in watercolor and sketching, etc. All the while having some great laughs! Y'all had me CRACKING UP during this video. Thank you guys for this. Although I truly wanted to see a vide on naturalistic "mushies", something made me say..."watch Jenna's kooky mushrooms while you have that morning coffee", and I am SO GLAD that I did. Like I said, it was hilarious and just fantastic seeing two friends be themselves and being jusy as kooky as the 🍄 mushies themselves. You totally have to make more of these, "painting with Jenna & John", videos.
Aw thanks James!! We both appreciate that feedback, and glad to know people enjoy the banter. I have a feeling you’re gonna love this weekend’s Christmas town tutorial, we have a lot of fun in that one! 🤗
Contrary to what you think, I LOVED when you were singing to John’s “drum track” on the Phil Collin’s song. You remind me of a dear friend. So there! Also, love the help on color theory and all things beginner.
My favorite was the orange with the light blue polka dots. The colors work well together and the bleeding makes it extra special! Thank you for this tutorial and I want to hear more impromptu concerts with you and John haha
You guys are hilarious singing Phil Collins, I can tell you have a good voice Jenna! It makes me happy to hear the two of you banter- you'll stay married forever as long as you continue to communicate this way, enjoying each other's company. Miles is so lucky he has parents that really love and respect each other and enjoy being together. I absolutely love all your tutorials, thank you for sharing your talents.
I love, love, love this tutorial it is fabulous!!!! The shrooms are rockin awesome and the entertainment made my day!!! Look forward to each and every one of the 💜
My favorite is the green with reddish dots. The Christmas one-I think I’m getting in the Christmas spirit!! 💚❤️ I painted along and I’m so new at this. I did a decent job for a beginner but I’m having a hard time getting thin lines using the #6 brush. I try to stay light on the tip and I know it will come with practice. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I am working my way through all of them and I am learning so much.
I love this tutorial, also, yes people mushroom hunt! In Ohio the season begins for Morel mushrooms in early April through mid May depending on the weather. They are amazing and so fun to find! And I love your singing!
So much fun!!! Oh and by the way, I didn't turn you off when you two started singing, actually Jenna, you sounded good!. Can't wait to do some mushrooms!! (that would be the painting kind, lol!)
I wanted to watch Fantasia after this too. 😊 If you're interesting in a 'Fungi Forage', you could probably find a qualified forager that take groups of people out to show them what's safe and what's not. 😊 The pale turquoise one with dark spots is my favourite...although I love the tall dark green one. 😊
I loved this tutorial and hope ok to use it as a bday card to my very artistic niece! I will give your credits on the back although my shapes not guite as perfect as yours!
Love your work and videos; thank you!! I kinda like your mushroom challenge idea as I just finished inktober and want to take on another daily art challenge this month - maybe I'll do a mushroom painting a day for November... "Shroom-vember" perhaps 😁
Hello Jenna! I Love those cute mushrooms. That's going my next work! Can i ask wich paper you use? And hot pressed or cold pressed. With love Lieve from Belgium. 🥰🍀🍀

@@JennaRaineyChannel thank you!!!! I’m using my new journey into watercolor as an example of MANY things to my Aftercare kids. Failure, perseverance, the color wheel, little successes, and maybe the hardest thing for them…..less can be more……. They are K-5th grade.
Oh my gosh y’all are so much fun and you are not annoying.

I really enjoyed this on a Sunday afternoon. Just what I needed. Keep singing and being goofy. Love John's commentary as well.
I love your chit chat with John - especially the little songs. Makes me feel like I'm painting right there with you in the studio! x

I bought the Princeton heritage sizes 2 and as you suggested in one of your videos and you were right. It DOES makes a difference. Lovely tutorial.
Love the tutorial, my favourite colour combo is blue and pink dots
Very fun watercolor and color theory lesson! Thank you. I love mushrooms too...as an adult. Just tried some of the mushroom coffee.
I like the one in the middle of the bottom row I’m still color challenged :( I don’t have the eye for color like you thank you for the lesson :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I loved my afternoon painting colourful mushrooms!
Thank you Jenna! Such a nice tutorial! I had so much fun!

Phil Collins and funkadelic mushrooms with a side of Dr. SueSS! 💞
Mushrooms grow in Australia around Easter. I like finding them but a little fussy about eating them. 😄
Loved it. Thanks
Loved them all! Your palette still gives me anxiety. How do you get clean colors?
Thanks Friend
Haha. Mushroom hunting is really a thing. I’ve seen lions mane, hen of the woods, and chaga in my backyard.
I am going to follow your mushroom tutorial but first I am going to do a color wheel!
Love how you're legitimately talented at singing, even if we only hear it in your joke-y interludes 😅
Thank you for this video

L💗ve it!
So I must have missed it and will need to re watch (never a problem) but are you using all guasch??(sp)
I think I can do this...seems deceivingly simple, but I'm sure it will show it's challenges.
Hello Jenna! I Love those cute mushrooms. That's going my next work!

With love Lieve from Belgium. 🥰🍀🍀
Cold press Stonehenge . She links all her supplies
