    What is better? The audiolab 6000a as a pre amp or the burson dac/pre to the 8300xp straight in or the yamaha from the pre out .

    • @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120
      @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120  3 роки тому +2

      That's a good ? Really depends on what speakers i have hooked up both the Yamaha and Audiolab 6000a have the most color as a pre for sure than the Burson .
      The Burson is very clean sounding and detailed and very accurate but with some of my speakers the Burson plus 8300xp is almost to clean sounding but performace wise all around the 6000a has the best Synergy with the 8300xp the Audiolabs are gained matched perfectly all audiolab products (newer) are gained matched but really comes down to speaker pairing .

      I have the audiolab 6000a which I intend to use as a preamp and kef ls50's originals backed by 2 12inc rel subwoofers, sounds great but I feel the mains speakers may need a little bit more power just to get them to sing or control better. I feel the 6000a loses a little control at 45% volume which to be honest is loud enough. I just wondering if more amps/watts will just control these small speakers better, more nuances better separation of the instruments a more holographic experience. I've read that these kefs require good amplification to get them to open up. You tested the xp with q100 which are similar. Did you experience a significant difference between the 6000a and the 8300xp apart from the obvious higher volume dB. I'm looking for a neutral but sweet sound not to harsh top end quite thick sound but with good resolution (thus the reason I have 2subs to increase the lower octaves and fill out the base) the 6000a although great I feel is a little 2d in it's music presentation and lacking those micro details. Thanks keep up the good work

    Pretty good review. Which of the two would you say has better texture and reproduction of instruments? I own the audiolab 8300a and looking to get either the Yamaha A-S2200 or the audiolab 8300XP. I read reviews on the Yamaha A-S2200 sounding silky smooth, is this correct? Does the Yamaha have this is kind of sound?
    I also own an AudioSpace Galaxy 34 EL34 tube amplifier and love its energetic and forward presentation especially with a TunSol 6SN7 current production in place of the stock 6N8P.

      No the 2200 isnt silky smooth Thomas and Stereo done a good job with his review of the 2200. And compared to the the 8300xp its going depend on What speakers you have , and the 2200 is almost double the price as the 8300xp
      I will have a part 2 coming soon of the 8300xp very soon but the yammy reminds me of a tube amp big full midrange with the upper midrange forwardness Yammy has mosphetes in the output stage ! ,
      if i had to choose one just for music i would take the Yammy but when it comes using the amp for music and movies i would take the audiolab 8300xp but speaker pairing is huge with these 2 amps ! I will go over speaker pairing with 8300xp in part 2 !

      Hey I just looked it up amp is rated in stereo @ 140/230 watts 8/4 ohms
      They say when you bridge you get 480watts into 8 ohms and they are full of shit !!! It is not ! I will write audiolab about all the mis information ! Noway in hell it's that powerful !! Big jump in 8 ohms from 140 to 480 should be 280 watts and while being bridged they don't reccomend 4 ohm load !!! I talked to the Engeener this amp is not a power house it only weighs 16kg or about 30 pounds ! The new Galion TS A75 is more powerful !! Rated at 75 watts and 40 pounds of class AB power ' its a beast and much cheaper than 8300xp ! I will be reviewing soon !!

    • @carlitosgomez71
      @carlitosgomez71 4 місяці тому

      In bridged mode you technically get 4x the output power at 8ohms ( usually a little less due to heat losses and or power reserves class AB is not that efficient circa 80%) which the amp will see as 4ohms therefore if you have a nominal 4 ohm speaker that would drop to 2ohm on the amp side which for most amps is too difficult to drive and may go into protection mode, I believe the specs supplied by audiolab should be correct, if not they could be sued for false advertising plus I'm sure they have to follow international standards for testing and safety

    I have a Yamaha as 1100 and was wondering if you could recommend me a power amp to use with the as 1100 as a upgrade? Is it worth bothering? Thanks

      Yamaha is a 52 pound beast ! I could See someone using a tube amp with the Yammy to biamp a speaker but power wise its good enough on its own !

      @@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for your advice, yeah I agree it does have plenty of power and is an absolute beast of an amp! I was considering getting a schiit Freya+ and using it as a pre amp to get a little bit of that warm tube sound coming through, what do you think?

      @@Tinez87 Not a fan of the freya plus , but thats me if you go to my community page pics you will see i had the Freya plus i sent it back but thats me someone else may love it , I kepted the vidar amp .
      Just keeping it real ! If you can find you a tube buffer or the ifi itube2 ohhh my that'll bring in the harmonic warmth from tubes ! Your Yammy has a better preamp imho

      @@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for all your help! I'll give the Freya a miss as it's a lot of money just for a touch of warmth. I want to get my hands on the CDS 1000 player but it's difficult to find. I've been considering buying a headphone amplifier instead of using the one in the as 1100 do you rate the one in the 1100?
