Yes i wanted to mention in the video that i think a tube pre would work great with the A.L. i got the schiit Vidar amp in also 😃 and the A.L. M -0ne
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 so you tried the valve amp or not ?
@@johnsweda2999 No John , I was just saying since the amp is so uncolored the pre-amp and transport will have the greatest effect on the sound that comes out of the speakers .So i was guessing a tube pre would work great if you like that sound , also going to try to get the Schiit Freya plus tube pre as soon as i get enough money saved up .
But i was told by someone who owns the Freya (reviewer) that the Freya pre amp is no where near the Preamp built inside my AS-1100 so i wrote the Freya off !
But for pricepoint of freya I want to try atleast !
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 didn't think the Yamaha was tube preamp, should try anyway, why don't you just ask the company shitt to send you a review piece most companies give you 30-days minimum anyway return back if they're decent. Why are you buying stuff just contact the companies and ask for free sample let them know you are a UA-cam reviewer! Have a word with Sean I'm sure you could help you out
@@johnsweda2999 I have reached out to schiit Audio mant times they dont have a loan/lease like most other companies !
And Zero fidelity couldn't help on that one either but if Sean could he would for me .
I have a Yamaha as 1100 and was wondering if you could recommend me a power amp to use with the as 1100 as a upgrade? Is it worth bothering? Thanks
Yamaha is a 52 pound beast ! I could See someone using a tube amp with the Yammy to biamp a speaker but power wise its good enough on its own !
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for your advice, yeah I agree it does have plenty of power and is an absolute beast of an amp! I was considering getting a schiit Freya+ and using it as a pre amp to get a little bit of that warm tube sound coming through, what do you think?
@@Tinez87 Not a fan of the freya plus , but thats me if you go to my community page pics you will see i had the Freya plus i sent it back but thats me someone else may love it , I kepted the vidar amp .
Just keeping it real ! If you can find you a tube buffer or the ifi itube2 ohhh my that'll bring in the harmonic warmth from tubes ! Your Yammy has a better preamp imho
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for all your help! I'll give the Freya a miss as it's a lot of money just for a touch of warmth. I want to get my hands on the CDS 1000 player but it's difficult to find. I've been considering buying a headphone amplifier instead of using the one in the as 1100 do you rate the one in the 1100?
@@Tinez87 its ok HP amp its decent
What really matters is what headphones you are using its like speaker/amp pairing , thanks for stopping in here if you have any ?
Hi TJ! Very nice job! I Need some advice. Is It possible using 8300xp / 6000a combo and biambling to speakers? In this case 6000a has to be set in integrated mode?
Actually omron relays are bad you will need to clean the contacts every 2 years or ao
Audiolab and warmth? You are not fit to broadcast.
Aww man 1st time i watched this video omg when i described the sound i messed up a little warmth was for Yamaha not Audiolab 8300xp that amp is dam near netural sounding and uncolored so much So during the real video not this practice run i was actually in the video Saying this amp just gets out of the way of the system no color Geez man thanks for pointing this out dam it though, I may have to delete this video ' back 2 years ago i didn't watch my video after i uploaded i do now ' ehaaaa ! I heard it !
What power amp would you recommend for the Polk r600?
Just had a subscriber who bought the Yamaha AS-1200 and he loved the Combo or The Doge tube integrated 😃
