  • Louisiana BBQ shrimp is the type of magical dish that is intensely flavored, super fast to cook and perfect for entertaining. Shaking, not stirring, the butter creates an emulsified sauce with more body. And warm bread is the only addition you need to create a full and satisfying meal.

This is soooo close to the Mr Bs BBQ Shrimp in New Orleans. Its a very common NOLA dish, been around for ages. I have many recipes for it, I'll definitely try this ASAP.

I feel like the sweet spot would be to put the heads/shells into the stock so you get that flavor, then cook the shelled shrimp in the sauce so you don't lose any sauce to the discarded shells.

that's almost exactly the approach Emeril Lagasse took in a BBQ Shrimp video I just watched on his channel but having had this in New Orleans several times, & always had it head/shell on, I'm leaning toward the traditional messy approach

Can you tell out back history when you cook my kid and family loves hearing how awesome we are and how our footprint is still all over the world of those who took everything from us and tried making it there's or making its insignificance so we can be proud of you more because it's just a haircut or food it's more then that it's heritage tradition just like it is for you guys and your fat Santa but it's wild when we say it is

Fantastic! In New Orleans, we make it with amber beer instead of wine. Abita Amber is my go-to. And head-on shrimp gives the best flavor.

@@LY43537 Here's what the Abita Beer website says...Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with pale and caramel malts and German Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be our leading seller. Amber is Abita's most versatile beer for pairing with food.

Looks like I have dinner for tonight. First time viewer, first time subscriber. I'm going to have to make up for lost time and look at your previous videos. You probably have heard this ad nauseam, but Katie Holmes looks like you. However, she probably can't cook as well.

I feel like it's important to note that she's using an enameled cast iron skillet. This recipe could damage the seasoning on some standard cast iron.

I would never shake a pan on my glass cook top because it would scratch the hell out of it, I have done it.We have a gas hub as well and that is what I use most of the time unless I do not plan on moving the pan.

Looks ok, but real New Orleans bar-b-que shrimp are cooked with the shrimp heads on. You need the fat from the heads. Takes it to a whole 'nother level.

Shaking a cast iron pan on a glass top will scar it,

If you’re not sucking the sauce off of the unpeeled shrimp before peeling them, you’re making a BIG mistake.

  • @rodneyadams2262

I don't doubt that it is delicious, but I will have to use peeled shrimp I can't take messy food.
